Very good quality. Its very pleasant to find a place in Cape Town where they put so much effort in the food. The smell, the flavors.. You know you are eating good quality food from the ingredients to the way of cooking. Leave space for desert!

Food - great. Waiter - great. Price - overpriced.I just dont think any restaurant has the justification to charge me R160 for 2 lamb chops. Yes they are delicious but they are not made of gold.So be prepared to literally spend R500 for a meal that is not even going to make you feel full.

I have discovered this place years ago and it has become our favorite if you want middle eastern cuisine and particularly lamb and octopus..hamaan is a gŕeat host....big bay tours has this place on the list of great restaurants in cape town...cant wait to go back...those Lamb ribs.......!!!!

Sloppy Sam’s new spot is beautiful, rustic and romantic with thoughtfully prepared small plates - perfect for date nights or with a group of friends. The hummus, lamb rolls and Persian Zeytoon Parvadeh were my absolute fave but it was hard to choose as everything was packed with flavour and so well prepared. I will definitely be back to try everything else on the menu!

One of the worst and most embarrassing restaurant experiences of my life. I asked for the bill, added an overly generous tip, put my card down only to be told they have no card facilities! During the Covid pandemic? I had to EFT a payment! This is something you tell customers in advance! On top of all that it is poor value, I would have enjoyed a burger more at a quarter of the price. Never again.

Why did I return for the third time? I dont know. It is kind of cute and different. But then. Overpriced for what it is. Maybe I am just jealous with what little they make serious $$$. Nothing was bad. Just so simple and so ambitiously priced. And letting us wait for 1,15h for the mains and only then telling us how busy they were (not all tables booked). Cape Town needs more critical guests. There are great places around - just too few.

Seldom see a restuarant owner in charge of the kitchen and remembers previous customers preference. Excellent food and service. Pity Im leaving Cape Town so soon. Will definitely be back soon.

The food is ok, like eating at your grandmothers place... everything feels old in a not antique nice way... it’s been there for ever and though I should try it... but it’s not a let’s go back type place... more for old locals who want a home style meal in bland surroundings...

The Eat Out awards on the door were promising, but the food was pretty horrific and not really edible. The staff were nice and the beer cheap.

My wife and I have been to Sloppy Sam a number of times over the past six years and we are always warmly welcomed by Hooman. Every visit has been a totally enjoyable one and we have introduced many of our friends to the experience and all have totally enjoyed the evening. Each of the dishes are prepared beautifully with consistent high quality under the supervision of the head chef - who else but Hooman himself to add to the already happy yet romantic atmosphere.Kudos to that man.Mark & Teresa

Delicious lamb! The little pickled grapes are a revelation, and the accompanying potatoes needed to be ordered twice. The side veg was a little meagre for 3 people though.

Shocking service and attitude from staff. Waited for 2.5hours for dishes since ordering, only to be met with a rude and condescending attitude from the waitron . Would definitely not recommend.
