I visited the restaurant with friends and their family. I ordered sushi, to satisfy my craving. I was under the impression that sushi takes less prep and cooking time. I ordered the fusion crunch platter.All the other people have already received their food, and I was still waiting. They ordered various platters, which had to be fried, grilled, and cooked accordingly.My food only arrived 30 mins after theirs did, which by then they finished. And my food was cold.No apology from the waitresses side and nothing complimentary, not that Ive wanted it but a gesture would have been appreciated.Canal Walks Ocean Basket shall never see me again.

The drinks were nice and service mostly good. The theme of the restaurant is creative and its out of the immediate movement and noise from the rest of the center. The seafood was a little overcooked and dry but the flavours were spot on.

I was very happy with the service I received. The calamari was definitely fried too long, and thus quite dry. But still not a bad taste. Im just used to higher quality from Ocean Basket.

The waiter need to remember their customer interactions. When you for an item from the menu write it down if you have problems remembering information. Getting requests wrong 3 times within 1 sitting is a terrible experience.

Ordered the famous fish via Uber eats. The creamy lemon butter sauce was really just melted margerine with some lemon in it... Requested extra creamy garlic sauce,but received another melted margarine container... Really wasnt the Ocean Basket experience Im used to.

Pathetic service. Munya our waiter didnt have the decency too explain why our food took so long we Waited for 30 minutes. No update as to why its taking so long instead he decided to come after 30 minutes and tell. They having issues with the machines in the kitchen . A couple come sits after us and gets their food. How sick is that Unprofessional. We left and cancelles our mealNever again. Management needa to jack himself up. And his staff.

Amazing branch of a famous SA franchise Ocean Basket. I ordered California and Rainbow rolls and prawn special, so, sushi was fresh and was coming in nice big pieces, prawns were succulent but a bit small, service was good. I had a waiter with a passionate name Desire who was very fast. I would recommend this place for my friends.

Feeling like some sea food vibe and a place to rest while in the mall. Check it out and enjoy, nice customer service as well!

Pleasant atmosphere for a mall walk in restaurant. Had the seared salmon and some sushi salmon Roses for lunch while doing a spot of shopping.All delicious.I rate this 6/10

I took my wife with daughter for supper on our 30th wedding anniversary.Food was Good and the Service too😷

I ordered both a sushi platter and a seafood platter, having gone to ocean basket before I didn’t expect amazing food but they really showed up with their sushi platter. However their seafood platter was below par. The calamari was terrible and their prawns were over cooked and might have stood for a while. Noticing this I called the water to explain to him the difference between a well cooked prawn and an over cooked prawn and he simply understood and accepted my concern. He asked to if he could call the manager and I said he may. The manager saw the prawns and asked if he could discount me and did.I wasn’t expecting the best but I received good service from the waiter. The food wasn’t exceptional but this really isn’t my favorite restaurant. I keep getting below par food from them. If you want to have a decent meal look elsewhere as a way to avoid disappointment

Had a wonderful experience with our very attentive waiter Nathan (66),he was excellent dispite it being busy. The food was fresh, warm and delicious.

I ordered the 12 piece prawn special for a takeaway with lemon butter sauce. There was no lemon butter sauce resulting in dry prawns. Seafood is one of my favourite takeaways, but I will be looking for an alternative restaurant that knows how to deliver complete orders. Very disappointing.

We have visited this branch often in the past and the food was always fresh and the service good. Todays visit was very disappointing. The calamari and fish tasted old and reheated, only the fries were warm - substandard compared to previous visits. Our food was delivered to out table and we didnt see out waiter again even though the restaurant was 50% full. Ill think twice before visiting again.

Food was great as always, just felt a little rushed by our waiter. Pushed us to place our meal order with he drinks order and then while there was still food left in our pans, he wanted to clear the table. We of course did not allow him to clear the table.

Food and Service was excellent. We hardly had to wait for a table considering it was school holidays. Only gripe that I had was that the rolls served on arrival were tiny, two bites and they were gone.

My mom and I went here a couple of weeks ago on a weekend, and it was so busy. However, our waitress, Buhle, was so good to us and didnt forget us (which is rare when restaurants are busy). She was very attentive and always made sure we were okay and the food was good. My mom is in a wheelchair and the seating was no problem for her to just slide under the table with her chair. We were out of the way of foot traffic and against a wall which was nice cause we could chat and be alone. Tasty food and great service, we really enjoyed our time here.

Second time in a row that Ive been disappointed by my delivery from OB canal walk. Issues are unrelated. The driver delivered 10 minutes earlier Than expected and food was still ice cold. Also unsatisfied with covid hygiene precautions. 2 of 3 boxes arrived wrapped but the calamari and chips box was open. Salad was wrapped but leaking and lid ripped right off when I took the plastic off. I wont order again. Always an expensive mistake.

Visited ocean basket(canal walk) yesterday since 2 months ago, Seems as its back to usual business with their small portion size. The food was tasty just not value for money.

The food was absolutely delicious, the fish🐠 was soo fresh and well priced as always.. And great service 😊

If a zero rating was possible, I would choose it!On 20.08.2020 went to Ocean Basket Canal WalkApon arrival we were told to go around to the other entrance, we may not enter at that side of the restaurant. When arriving at the correct entrance, our temperatures were taken and we were told that we need to walk all the way back to the first entrance which is quite a distance AGAIN because we are not allowed to take our trolley with shopping into the restaurant. We explained that unfortunately we cannot leave it outside because we are afraid that it would get stolen. Delish the Manager said we cannot bring it in as it is a fire Hazzard! Never in my life have I heard this from any other restaurant. I spoke to the Hostess and explained that are pensioners with diabetes and explained that I dont feel well and would like to sit down and eat. She did not even let me finish talking and just walked away. We have always supported Ocean basket, but will not be back again!

Very consistent quality food available anytime. Great for the whole family. Always stop here for a bite after a hard days shopping in the mall. Never disappoints.

By far the best OB branch that i have ever visited. The floor manager was always present on our multiple visits and he visited each table to ensure that customers were happy with their meals. Very polite and friendly staff members. Food was always great.

Once again great service. It was my moms birthday. I came at about 6:00pm to make a reservation for 7. The manager was more than understanding. He allowed us to bring her birthday cake into the restaurant and even kept it in the fridge until after supper to surprise her. He really went all out. & to my surprise they actually sang happy birthday to her 😂 (ocean basket doesn’t do birthday songs) such a pleasant visit & this is why we always come back. Great service, great food. Our waiter was super friendly & even took the lead in the birthday song. Well done ocean basket waiters & management!

Great service despite that the place is bustling during lunch hours. Kitchen is quick, waiters are super attentive. Food is usual Ocean Basket quality.Music is a bit too loud which makes the whole place a bit noisy as people tend to raise their voice to compensate.Also its a bit crowded in terms of table proximity. Five table less would go a long way....

Great food, good service. Went for a R26 fish and chips special. Food was great, but paid R100 for a strawberry cooler. It was literally coolaid. I feel like I got ripped off on this drink. Other then that, seems like a fine place to eat a meal.

Definitely one of the best Ocean Baskets out there. Great to do your shopping then stop by for a great meal. Waiters are well trained and plenty of runners to make sure your table is clean and clear. I normally share a platter but never been dissatisfied with any of the choices on the menu
