I ordered a platter for 1 through UberEATS. I tasted my fish that basically had all its scales on hidden under all that batter. Im so put off I cant even continue eating. This is horrific. Plattekloof Ocean Basket this is food that is being served to YOUR customers. I cant even finish my food. So put off right now.

This was to say the least, grim.The staff are wonderful. Friendly attentive and generally on the ball.The food was execrable. A dry bun that had very obviously been sliced a few hours if not a day beforehand. The onion rings were up to standard, and the obviously microwaved potato was acceptable.The patty was grey, dry and totally tasteless.The spur chain has very clearly lost the plot. I would hesitate to feed this meal to an emaciated stray dog

Dissapointing.The side plates we were given were both dirty from prior diners... like not washed at all...no apology given. Really concerning with covid we would expect much much greater care and hygiene, especially since the place was empty when we arrived so no excuse of being busy. All the cutlery were wet for some reason.The meal was average and the rolls dissapointingly stale, hard and chewy. The waiter did bring fresh ones from the oven, same result plus too hot to handle.I suggest the manager visits the Gordons bay/ Strand branch for some training on how to up his game.

Service is fantastic, location is great its a cozy setting, food was great id recommend the Mezes platter you wont be dissapointed.

We have been here on many occasions, and we have never been disappointed. This time we were celebrating and ordered the full deck platter for the two of us. It was outstanding and we had to take some home as it is so big.Only recommendation I can make is that they go back to lemon butter sauce and not lemon margerine as the margerine changes the taste drastically.Toilets are available and parking is plentiful outside.Dale served us and he was excellent. He definitely adds value to Plattekloof Ocean Basket. Thank you Dale.

Ordered tgrough Uber Eats. The food is cold and tasteless. The chips tastes as if they tried to reheat yesterdays chips and failed miserably. Threw the fish and rice away. Absolutely disgusting. Ocean Basket wont see me again.

So disappointed yesterday I ordered a platter, specifically the solemate platter because Im not a lover of fish, I had been looking forward to the prawns and calamari was left nothing short of dissapointed when my order arrived with about 8 pieces of fish and about a 10 prawns. Not to mention I see this platter is advertised for R440 on your menu yet through Mr D R519, pure rip off. After asking about the fish on the platter I was advised there was no calamari steak. You dont just replace an order without checking, I was then asked what I would like it replaced with and advised to please remove the fish and to replace it with some calamari heads and additional calamari, I was then sent what looked like a kiddies meal of chips and dry strips.Food was bland, dry, shocking to say the least

We enjoyed our meal. Partner and baby boy both wolfed down their fishy meals. Me and my fish and seafood allergy had panko zucchini and a Bonsai platter. Yum.

CALAMARI WAS OFF the worst meal I have had in a long time. Lime in the milkshake was so much and so sweet that it was undrinkable. The only thing that pleasant and helpful was the waiter and prawns. Will not go back there anytime soon.

I am a vegetarian and rate restaurants on how they are able to accommodate veggies. Plattekloof,as with other OBs do a spectacular salad and Haloumi cheese. I find this combo a great meal together and a special spoil!!! Staff a Plattekloof are great.

My go-to ocean basket branch for takeaways. Their food is amazing and the takeaways is always ready in 10 minutes, so I just call before I climb in my car. They keep it warm for you until you get there and they also sell food vouchers which makes amazing gifts for my friends which love ocean basket as well.

Worst service ever. Myself and my partner literally just walked out and no one even noticed. We arrived and a very unfriendly waiter told us to find a spot to sit. We sat down and 10 min later still no service or anyone attending to us. Everyone literally just walked past us so we got up and left. Disgusting service of which I will NEVER go there again.

Shame abour this Ocean Basket. When there for work and the prawns were either frozen and not cooked well or just bad. The manager said he would help us and just never came back to our table. Bad service and no real manager.

Cosy restaurant with incredibly fresh seafood. The prawn skins was easy to remove which shows it was cooked perfectly. I had a smaller sushi platter and the salmon was so fresh that it almost melted like butter in my mouth. Gift, our waiter, looked after us. He ensured we had everything we needed and was very friendly. Thank you Gift. Highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely go back.

Visited this restaurant today. The service was excellent. The staff were very efficient. The food and coffee were delicious. However I was very disgusted with the toilets. The dirt bins were over flowing and open. There was pooh on the toilet bowl and the floors and basin were very dirty. I actually felt dirty after using the restroom. I would recommend that they sort this out immediately

My husband and I ate at this restaurant today. We were very disappointed in the service. Our waiter took our order and then disappeared. Our drinks sat on the counter quite a while before he brought them over. The bread rolls werent fresh. My husband ordered a bite of the ocean and extra veggies on the side. The veggies were there but no rice and the portions were tiny. It looked like a kiddies meal. Mine was fine. While we waited we observed the staff. They were huddled around what looked like a cell phone. Basically they werent interested in their customers. There were 2 ladies from the kitchen who both kept scratching their heads under their hairnets. Makes you wonder what the hygiene is like in the kitchen.... And we werent offered any wet wipes. We wont go there again.

Always a good place to have a fun evening at. The band, Black Box played really good music. The food is really good. The only complaint I have is that the waitress who took our orders had no clue, whose meal was for each person. She also forgot my drink I ordered. I had to order it again. Each time I told her the amount R129.00 to put through the card machine, she kept saying R192. 00. So, her service was poor. She also did not clear the tables quickly enough when we were done with our meals, like our waiter did on the previous occasion we were there.

Ocean Basket is always a pleasure and the Plattekloof branch is always effecient, delicious and an experience that is always enjoyable.The fusion crunch platter is my personal favourite by way of sushi and the hake and calamari combo is my favourite warm dish. Ocean Basket has amazing food made by amazing people and there is never a dull taste in your mouth.I will always go back time and time again.

I took my son for a treat and by chance ended up at this Ocean Basket. Probably the best I had from the chain of restuarants. Portions were generous and the Food was tasty and top class. Well done guys. We love Ocean Basket an you just restored my fading appreciation for seafood eateries.

We are great supporters of Ocean Basket De Plattekloof so ordererd through Mr D. - massive disappointment - cold, burnt food without the flavour we love. We got the meal replaced very kindly and efficiently but 2nd food a dreadful disappointment.- Manager lovely but did not make up for R350 spent on awful food.

Very pleasant 1st time visit with son & his family to this restaurant. Ocean baskets fish & chips, remains our favourate outings and good value for pension-money!

Not the regular quality... The starter rolls were over microwaved to heat resulting in singed edges, Rosti was nothing as in their menu picture, about 2mm thick and drenched in oil. Ice-cream was more liquid ...than ice cream.... Overall... Not a first choice in future... Sadly so as we like Ocean Basket especially the venue

I have no doubt that this is a cozy restaurant, I just don’t like waiting close to 30mins for a starter.
