What an amazing experience. The atmosphere is serene and the service is spot on. To talk about the food, it was just delicious. Check the pic of what we ate. We will come again. We were in Cape Gate and Ocean Basket there was a big let down. Thank you Ocean Basket Glengarry for great food and service. Please teach Cape Gate a thing or three. We have always had bad service there even before lockdown. When Management changed.

Awesome place. Good food and good vibe. Small play place area for the kids as well. We ordered sushi and grilled calamari for the 2 of us and a kids platter for 1 for our daughter. Amazing little platter for the price and different sushi for us, but very good. Super fresh as well. Quite busy so was a little slow with the service but a good experience in the end. Definitely recommended.

We dont go to any other Ocean Basket. Weve always only received the best quality food and the staff is always friendly.

First impressions mean a lot, and Ocean Basket Glengarry left such a great first impression I might just become a regular.Service was excellent, and Id strongly recommend their Lemon Garlic mussel starter, a little tip is to not eat those yummy looking bread rolls the moment they get to you, or you might miss out on dunking them into the mouth watering Lemon Garlic sous those mussels are served in.Theirs open floor layout makes for a great atmosphere.All and all, I give them a 5 start rating.

Our first time there.. only the Waiter deserved a star. 3 of us ordered calamari, after 15 minutes the very embarrassed waiter came do say the delivery truck was late therefore no calamari, I dont believe a delivery was going to be made on a Saturday after 1.30 pm! Bad management! Why were the waiters not informed of NO STOCK!? Why let customers start from the beginning 🙄 deciding on something else!? We paid for our drinks and left...to never return. First impressions count.

The best place to have seafood in the area. We always go to the Glengarry branch. Great service ....good view...fresh well prepared food. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants. They also have very yummy sushi😁

Great evening, all protocols in place, friendly staff, no waiting, although they were very busy, which I were Greatful for, this industry were Hard Hit during the Pandemic. Food were tasty, generous portions and good value for money. The view is breathtaking and we had a lightning show. We LOVE Cape Town. Thanks Ocean Basket Glengarry.

We went for supper and we were helped immediately and service was really great. Was very impressed with how quickly the food arrived and it tasted really delicious. Would recommend the grilled salmon - its amazing. They have a great kids play area and a decent smoking area as well. Love that ita situated on the second floor as it gives a great view looking out and perfect for when the sun goes down.

After the reviews of Ocean Basket at Glengarry, my wife and myself took the plunge. The waiter showed sincere hospitality. Drinks were in a chiffy, and so the food. Calamari (Cajun-style) was soft and delish. Mussels in lemon and garlic sauce even better. Pleasantly surprised.

Went for a Sunday lunch.It was very busy which was nice to see.We had a very pleasant waitress called Sonique,she was very helpful.I ordered a Sushi platter,The crusted fusion.It was so big and really fresh and tasty.I could not eat it all as there was so much.The sushi serving sizes are high.Would highly recommend their sushi.You have to wait for it to be prepared but well worth the waitWill go back again as it was reasonably priced and the food was fresh and tasty.

Visited last week Friday again, our waiter was very attentive and gave fast and friendly service. Restuarant was filling up during our visit as it should on a Friday evening. OB have become known for their fresh rolls served while awaiting your meal which we love as well. This time we did not receive any and as the waiter was busy with another table, I called the Manager over when I spotted him, and enquired if perhaps they had forgotten, he said no, it would come soon as it was still in the oven, he never checked up the situation again and clearly did not follow up with our waiter as we never got the bread rolls nor an apology from said manager for not getting them. If it is part of what makes the OB exprience, make sure you deliver it, it should be readily available on time for your evening shift not still in the oven never to arrive at all anyway

As always the service and food was good. Bathrooms need attention.

Lauren served us today. She was very knowledgeable about the various ingredients in dishes and was attentive and efficient. Our meals ranged from a sushi starter to calamari and salad, 200gm sole and chips to a platter of salad served with falafel, crumbed butter prawns, crumbed courgettes and crumbed fish cubes with sauce accompaniments and creamy feta. All were attractively presented, freshly prepared and balanced in texture and flavour. A very tasty meal indeed! I would highly recommend Ocean Basket Glengarry for a memorable family outing because of their wide range of dishes across various courses. There is something for everyone. They will not disappoint!

Food was great, but they were out of stock on a lot of their wine. The lighting was also to bright.

The service was awesome and the first place to offer a baby chair before we asked. Noce play area for young children and food is quite yummy.

Went for Sunday lunch. Waited for a table for a short while, so perhaps better to book a table. All Covid19 regulations where in place. The service was fantastic despite them running at full capacity and with a power failure (not Eskom). Food was good, waiter was excellent, they will see me again!

We ordered a platter for two with stir-fried vegetables. Didnt think one can get stir-fried vegetables so wrong! It was mushy and tasteless!

Food was acceptable, 2 wrong dishes received at the table and another 2 that recieved a plate but not what was said on the menu. Got there at 12:30, sushi was ordered at 13:20. Arrived at 14:30 , mains not ordered after. Ate at around 15:30Waiter was there on and off! No management at table once.This restaurant isnt up to the standard Im used to from them. Table was booked long in advance and still received 2 calls after to confirm, when we got there nothing was as discussed.Last birthday we will do there.

Very disappointing experience to be quite honest. The salmon and avo salad should be called the cucumber salad as thats basically what you get for your R108. Wow, 6 tiny pieces of salmon, about a quarter avo, some feta, tomato and 2 rings of purple onion. Not worth going back for us, ever.

Bought platter for one and the food was cold, no creamy sauce over the mussels and chips were not good at all.

We had a good time in general,the food just took long since it was a busy night. It bothered me that the kids area had no supervision, since the teenagers and young ones were in there together - NUN wearing masks!! I dont think thats acceptable for inside play during the pandemic!

A happy review from a fully stuffed couple! Came for Valentines, place was packed! Food took a little while, but our waiter JP came to us and let us know that well have our food in a moment, the place was pack so it is understandable. Warm, fresh and blimming delicious the moment it arrived! Even polished the bread, see you agian soon.

Very bad experience, booked a table for 5 for 1pm, arrived and was seated at an uncleared dirty table suitable for 4. This was meant to be a pleasant 23rd anniversary lunch. Well the wine was good. Having had a really good experience of seafood platters at Hooked in Tygervalley We thought we will give Ocean Basket a try after many years of not eating there because of not good experiences. Well they didnt disappoint and I certainly wont be back, absolutely not worth it and ultra disappointed. 1 star for the wine.

Went to visit on Mothers Day. The place was packed yet the service was on point and the staff was very friendly. We ended up very satisfied customers.

For a while now I have been wanting to visit this Ocean Basket as I was told it is one of the better ones. The food was not bad and the staff was friendly. Our waiter was quite chirpy. Our food however took a bit long to arrive, and after asking that our kids food come first, it ended up coming last. Our waiter was very apologetic. My main concern is COVID and how the restaurant tables are set up and the fact that no windows and no doors are open. The restaurant chooses to rather close everything and put the aircon on, which is extremely risky. There is no proper spacing between tables, if one person must cough, you feel like you are immediately exposed. The play area is open and at one stage it was packed with kids which worries me. There is also a table placed right there by the door of the kids play area, meaning everyone must get up and walk right into that tables personal space before entering the play area. Sanitizing is not the only thing you need to do as a COVID protocol, please also spread out the tables more and consider using fresh air for proper ventilation instead of aircon. I would rather get a bit hot than end up with COVID symptoms 4 days after visiting your restaurant.

Terrible from the start. When we got there, people that arrived after us got screened first. We had to ask the waiter for simple things such as cutlery, salt and napkins. A table next to us, who arrived well after us had their the food the same time as us. It is not worth mentioning that we were the only people of colour in the establishment, but after almost 26 years it safe to say it was because of that that we were automatically degraded unworthy of a proper service.

Visit there in Easter Sunday was good. Service was on par.

I love Ocean Basket! I particularly enjoy Glengarry OB. The staff are suuuuper friendly and competent. Food is always great, and the atmosphere is always welcoming. They have a great kids play area as well. No fishery cooks prawns as well as OB!!! I highly recommend them!!

Food is fresh and not over-cooked. The staff is helpful and friendly and there when you need them. Even when busy, the service remains excellent. The big glass windows adds a nice backdrop of city lights at night. But this is an extra. The place always have a buzzing vibe and together with well prepared seafood, its perfect. Whether you are a family out for a nice meal or a couple having a romantic dinner, its got the right atmosphere.

There are so many reasons why this is probably or should I say most definitely the best ocean basket franchise I have ever frequented in my life. I think the waiters name was Rian and his service was absolutely faultless. The atmosphere was absolutely electric and all the staff are very polite the food was out of this world it was prepared with precision and dedication I have never tasted food from any ocean basket prepare the way they prepared this food and when I asked for wine and water and some ice the manner in which it was presented was out of this world. To the owner of ocean basket to the waiter that served us and to everybody at that establishment I will highly recommend you and I will definitely be back very very soon. How do I describe ocean basket that Ive just been to? Miraculously stunning awesome mind-blowing thank you guys
