Had a lovely wholesome platter shared with a friend. Food was very nicely prepared. Had a great waiter who was very hospitable & friendly. However I do find that from all the ocean baskets I have been to, this ones atmosphere is very lacking... It is cold & clinical. There is no ambiance or homely, welcoming feeling of that authentic Mediterranean feel that one gets from the others. The decor is bland & there is very little that visually stimulates the eye. Even the pans hanging for display still have stickers on them from time of purchase. There is no attention to detail & this definitely makes me think twice of going back to that ocean basket?

Worst ocean basket.Hi, I attended the ocean basket at N1 city mall 27/03/2021 . And am very disappointed in the service. The waiter had an attitude, the bar area was extremely messy. The waiters didnt help when asked for help, and they werent kind or welcoming. We waited 20 minutes for our starter rolls to be served and had to ask to five times where it was. Someone who arrived after we did, received their starter rolls before us which I dont understand. Im a big fan of ocean basket and have never experienced such bad service before.Definitely dont recommend anyone attends the restaurant.

Excellent place! My husband and I were served by a waitress named Mandy she was really nice and she followed all the COVID protocols and the place looked very hygienic. The female manger was really nice too we really felt welcomed I highly recommend this place and next time when I come I would love to be served by Mandy.

The service was good however the food was not. The prawns was burnt & Chips was burnt and hard inside. The calamari was horrible and I feel like it was a waste of money.

We ordered calamari and chips and fish and chip 6th August 2020 OMW it was shocking...still got the calamari here...it is old and hard....the fish we threw away immediately...we will never support Ocean basket N1 city again.

More specials...Mussel Mondays, Tentacle Tuesdays, Warm Wednesdays, Thirsty Thursdays, FRIEDDAYS.... take it from there.

It was Ok.My experience at Ocean Basket N1 City was not a completely pleasant one. The place was so packed we had to wait in a queue outside, even though they had a special so Ill let that one slide.I couldnt keep up with my waiter because I only saw her 3 times that evening and someone completely different brought us our food. The restaurant was moderately clean, packed and super loud, I could barely keep a conversation.At least the food was really good.All in all Im not sure if I would go there again anytime soon.

My wife and I went another seafood place for lunch, in close proximity to Ocean Basket. (I will not mention the name)When I asked the lady waitress a relevant question. She spoke to her colleswue in Xhosa, they both walked away and laughed. I will never recommend my friends, family to that business.(Enough said)I was not impressed with their service. And decided to go to Ocean Basket.*What a different reception we got.*The gentleman who served us was so friendly and approachable.I no time we tucked in and enjoyed our lunch.I will recommend anybody,.friends and family to Ocean BasketN1 City anytime.

Ordered a platter for one. Requested fish, calamari and prawns to be grilled. Everything were delicious except the fish. As hard as a brick. Service excellent. Waitress very professional.

Deciding to support food places in corona is really a pain. I placed the order in shop for a take away. Normally I have little to no patience for restaurants however I am trying to be less of a problem customer. Had a simple order of two fish and chips. After seeing several collections and 40/45 minutes pass by as well as eating other meals due to hunger I walk into the shop with the intention  to ask if my meal is delayed for some reason. The girl is shocked to that Ive been waiting for an order as well as Im not sure what she thought three ppl were standing outside the store for so long in an empty food court. Only to find that the kitchen made the order and its been standing for sometime. Her suggestion was to wait again so that another order can be made.  You need to train your people if waiting is the issue your solution cant be to wait again. I decided that staying in the mall.wasnt worth it as being composed isnt my strong point. And took the luke warm food rather. The chips lost its texture. The fish was rather room temp and the rice was a bit hard. Also I requested extra lemon butter sauce which I got one portion only that I had to split. Normally I would have liked it on the fish but for dumb luck I suppose the meal would have been worse if it was prepared like requested. Honestly if you cant get simple meals out the kitchen with no customers how on earth do you ppl operate when its busy. I definitely dont want to find out

What an awesome atmosphere on this beautiful Sunday afternoon. Powerful worship plays in the background whilst having your meal. I would recommend this place to any believer.

STAY AWAY, I waited for 13 minutes before a waiter even sew me and that after they walk past me several times. I went to the counter and ask for the manager and she was standing at the till doing nothing. I informed her and left and went to another place.

Great location, convienient to get in and a pretty beautiful place to eat in. Only complaint is a bit slow service though the restaurant wasnt too busy when we got there. Otherwise, it was definitely good.

Ocean Basket use to be the best, especially the prawns. Ive had one horrible meal after another after the refurbishment. I am so dissapointed. Tonight they offered to redo the prawns...and they gave me a total of 5 prawns. The waitress was sweet, but still...I had to pay for a horrible meal, not the Ocean Basket I am use to.This is the second review....and the same applies...nothing has changed. R350 and I am still hungry. The food was not cooked properly and drenched in butter. After we complained, the manager went off at the kitchen staff in front of everyone. Not cool. The waitress was awesome though!!!

On the 4th of March my family and I decided to go to Ocean basket for supper. The meal was going well until1: We found out the fresh veg was actually frozen then defrosted and then heated before serving to customers.2. There was hair in my food, which was sorted out very quickly.3. In the second plate of food that was made for me I had found plastic inside my calamari.When speaking to the manager all I received were excuses and ALOT of attitude as if I was in the wrong. Ocean basket N1 City needs t review their management as this is not how customers should be dealt with.

Platter portions much smaller than other Ocean Baskets. However stirfry veg option better than most.

Reasonable but had return tomato soup with fish medallions that were like chewing gum.

Good customer service and besides that I saw one guy provoking his colleagues, he had dreadlocks I couldnt check his name properly - such behavior at a workplace was unacceptable and you could see that the lady was trying by all means to ignore the guy! nonetheless I have enjoyed my meal even though I had allergy reaction later and I was in good hands at Kuilsriever NetCare.. I truly love your muscles and hake! actually everything..Great service indeed and keep on giving such service, it is none of my business about the ethics at your workplace however couldnt just bare myself looking at someone being unethical to other colleagues, I truly didnt like that.Just couldnt get the name of the lady that served me, she is African, short with least gap on her tooth! still remember her very well and thank you for the service - keep delivering the best
