Tried this spot for the first time yesterday. Friendly staff, attentive and friendly waiter, and food came out fast and hot! Large portions, so you will be full. I wanted to try the dessert but I was too stuffed to order anything more 🤣. Will return one day soon.

Good service, portions have gotten smaller, prices have gotten larger. Very skimpy on the sauce !!!!! Cmon, the platter is expensive enough, surely you can spare a little more sauce

I would like to go out on a limb here and say that, by far, this is the best franchise of Ocean Basket I have encountered. Excellent service, personal care and attention by the manager and fresh, tasty food. Worth the trip.

One of my favorite Seafood Franchises. Ocean Basket experiences are always satisfying. I used to order Basa with a Lemon-Butter sauce and rice, and then chuck in all the garlic they give with your complimentary Italian buns and butter starter. Down to a science. Unfortunately, the fresh water Basa is no longer served (endangered) but the hake is as good. Everything else on the menu is also delicious. In fact, if you new to sea food start here. You wont be disappointed. Ive never had bad service at OB. Thanks again, Tufeni, for unforgettable dining experience.

Had a lovely supper with delicious smoked mussel soup, and sole with chips - and the staff were more than welcoming and efficient.

Stir fry veg tasted like it was steamed and the the King Klip tasted like it was grilled straight from frozen .Manager wasnt interested in my complaint - just said the veg is grilled not stir fried although the menu says stir fried

Definitely one of the better Ocean Baskets. Nice views if you get seated near the windows...consistent service levels and food quality. Pity most of the other OBs cant reach this standard.

I went there for a family supper out, we sat for 30min with no service, our waiter just ignored us after setting our table. We then decided to take the full deck platter for a take away. When we got home we were surprised to find an incomplete platter with no sauce. Im never a complainant customer but this was the worst service and ocean basket Ive ever been to. I dont know if it was because we are black but Im sure it had a lot to do with the service we never received.

I bought a platter for one take away meal, while looking forward to having my juicy meal to with the ocean basket famous source to my surprise when I opened my meal it was dry no source what so ever the mussels looked like the just came out of the ocean, the food was not edible. I was very angry cause I was really craving this meal.

My wife and I have been to Ocean Basket Table Bay a number of times and each time its a hit. We truly have enjoyed each visit. Tonight we went there again. The food and vibe was amazing. Such good food cooked perfectly. Keep it up Ocean Basket.

Sadly not a good review I am afraid. Staff and service very good but food was absolutely shocking. Five of us and all five plates of food were cold. Very small portions. Three of us had the platter for one - none of the platters even had a lemon wedge on them. There was maybe two spoons of sauce over the very small prawns. The rice was maybe only two spoons as well. The piece of fish was tiny, overcooked and dry. We ordered a carafe of Margarita - well we paid R130 for a bunch of slightly sweet crushed ice because that is all it was. I have always enjoyed Ocean Basket food but this time round we were all very disappointed.

Lovely meet up place

Despite the place being quite empty, we did end up waiting a while. However, the food was to the usual standard and we had a pleasant experience.We had not been to this mall before, and I enjoyed the fact that it wasnt rammed full of people.

Good thing Im seeing these reviews. Placed a order via Uber Eats for R450. Credit card debited. 15min later a message that Ocean Basket have cancelled our order. No message, just cancelled.Will give them a skip next time, and looking at the reviews, wont go in either.

Great place, awesome service and the food is lovely.

We ordered California rolls - its was more rice than anything else. The rice was so sticky and to be honest the California rolls didnt have much taste to them at all.We then ordered kingklip - another disappointment.Our fish was tough in some parts and the chewy in other parts - really not worth the money spent unfortunately.The service was good - the food not so much.

Ocean basket was always first choice to visit.. the quality is not what it used to be.. I guess the food was OK but what made it unpleasant was the Yello buttery oily sauce over everything. The second factor was most apparently the lack of service and a waitress that didnt know the menu... I ask that the calamari heads and tentacles must be friend not grilled.. Upon receiving our platter she argued that we didnt request that.Not niceAt the end, she apologized and said she forgot our request.. We left on a good note.

Ocean Basket Table Bay Mall is a rip-off.There portions are half the size usually get from Ocean Basket. The Manager even has the audacity to tell me that perhaps the other many Ocean Baskets I have been to is over-portioning.REALLY?? How is it that every other Ocean Basket is giving to much food.I seriously recommend you to go to any other Ocean Basket and not EVER go to Table Bay Ocean Basket.

I must compliment that i had a great sauce with my prawns xxx it made a big diffence.. It was delish... not the same old same old..

The service staff do their best to ensure your satisfaction, but there are 1 or 2 minor issues - for example: many stores in the mall offer partial compensation toward your parking fee (barcode at the top of your receipt) & this being a sit-down restaurant, its disappointing to find no compensation offered after spending a few hundred Rand there... yes, the cost of parking is only a fraction of that - but its a gesture other stores offer & one that will make me consider going elsewhere for my meal in future.

Very friendly staff and have toys and crayons for colouring fornuoung kids. The menu is limited, but ok.I find the quality of the food average and pricig to be moderate to high for what you are getting. That being said one can get good value for money if you take up the specials.

This is well priced seafood franchise restaurant, offering seafood and fresh sushi. The staff is friendly and there is lots of seating, as well as regular specials. The only downside would be that it can be quite cold on a cold day, so you would need to make sure you take a jacket in order to enjoy your experience fully.

The quality of food and service depends very much where you go... One of the better ones is probably the N1 city branch
