Fun place to go bowling with a large number of people and head out for games. Time stands still inside Grand West. The ice skating rink is in the same building together with movies, restaurants, Milky Way and a sweets shop. If you don’t have bowling shoes, you can use theirs or play bare feet. Costs? Grand West is almost always a good experience with the variety of things to do. They are very strict on Covid, which we love. We love the Nandos, they have exceptional service and friendly staff. The 10 pin bowling on the other hand, have very grumpy staff and just irritated all the time. They need to be replaced in my opinion.

My daughters brand new converse takkies(of which I still have the slip)went missing at the skates counter. Its been a week and after calling them thrice we still have no feedback from management at the ice rink. Absolutely appalled at the level of service.

Really awesome with maybe best covid checks ever. Arcade was a lot of fun. Restaurants though, service is massively lacking. Super slow and really a I dont care attitude.

This is a large casino with very many gambling options.There are 2 main areas, one where smoking is allowed, the other quite a bit bigger is smoke free.All the normally expected table games is present in both areas, and both areas also have a prive section where the bets on the machines are generally higher - good for when you want a little more space and less people around you.There is various food options ranging from Take aways to more formal options.A nightclub was operational before Covid restricted that.There is a number of cinemas, and also a kids play area containing a ten pin bowling range.A Olympic size ice rink is open again as well.So, as you can see, lots to do beside gambling. Well worth a visit!!

Really rigorous system to get in then they concertina people to get mvp cards and there are people running around inside the building without masks in plain view of the security guards and they dont say a word. Bit of a farce really. Thank goodness I only went in to the restaurant Bukara which was great.

Lively, loud, gripping all of my senses at once. Sure, thats exactly what a casino is supposed to do, and as such I have nothing bad to say about the place. My personal preference of cause is somewhere more tranquil and less invasive. But, the food is good and can satisfy almost every kind o palette, and if youre not too much of an emotional gambler, then you have the option of winning some bucks too (well, thats just one side of the coin anyway).

Restuarants, cinema, ice skating, kids play area, bowling its actually a good place for the whole family.

Covid check-in process was too long but enjoyed being there and love the fact that this can be done online.

The kids love it but there arent enough chairs and tables at the food court. I had to go outside and eat in the car. Hope they will improve.

Very cool building. When you enter, you feel as if you are in a complete and very different city similar to New York City, where you will find a ski playground, as well as a casino, discos, amusement parks and restaurants, in addition to a bowling alley.

Anything you ever want, hotels, restaurants, movies, ice rings , childrens play area, gambling, shows, fast food and other shops. NO restaurants with smoking area. City Lodge is an affordable beautiful hotel with friendly staff. A must visit if you in Cape Town

Very beautiful place to come and unwind. It is beautiful inside and outside, very green and clean. Theres a hotel and enough safe parking around. When you enter you tale about 3 minutes to go through the sanitizong stations and they take down your details to keep track of everyone whos there so thats good. The mall is very because and diversified. The restuarants are accommodative to both kids and adults, theres a casion and another entertainment side for kids and adults. The prices are quite affordable and they have a September special for bowling for R40 a person. Ice skating is R50 per person so you can go there on a small budget and still have fun.The available restuarants include, KFC, Steers, Spur, theres also milkylane, great for the weather.I would recommend this place because its an all in one stop that includes many different things so you will definitely enjoy yourself.

The thrill and experience is lost. Poor gaming and bar service. You cannot have 1 bartender in a bar. If someone orders 4 coffees, you wait for 20 minutes to be served. Not cool at all. 😏

Had a fantastic experience ice skating - in my opinion they can clean off the old ice and skate marks before allowing the next lot on the skate rink.

Always a great vibe. With an amazing fake sky ceiling that creates a whimsical atmosphere. The only downside is that many of the fastfood stores there (such as burger king) have been closing quite early (8pm).

When last have you gone Ice skating.. Its been at least a decade for me. The shoes seem harder and the ice more slippery than it did years before.. After a few rounds youll feel the familiar numbness mixed with the excitement of going faster on each lap around.. Great fun

So enjoy going but if one has a problem on a machine its not easy to find a technician. I work afternoons so when they opened after Lockdown I went mornings only to find no tables open - I am a regular Roulette player so my choice is basically play a machine & get frustrated most of the time. Staff at points of sale at bars even for soft drinks are very unhelpful. I find this most infuriating as in normal times they are 24/7 so should offer more choice operating shorter hours.

Cant play unless you are an MVG card holder and the queue was about an hour long. Waste of time

My experience experience at Grand Wests Entertainment area such as the ice rink was amazing. I enjoyed the cold ice and Slush Puppy Drinks. I enjoyed gliding on the ice a Little worried I might fall but super fun experience . I will definitely be doing that again.

Entertaining , but with no excitement, its more like self entertainment, also you spend so much money , we constantly, do eats and icecream and snacks , then off the the gaming floor, lots of money spent and when you go almost everyday , evenings , or mornings I tend to spend and spend , but its my way of treating myself, but at least Grand West can share equal , when chatting to people around me , I must hear , I won R96k on the electric machine then I came back and just won R40k and so on , then people I see once walk off with thousands , and I never see them again, then I have the odd conversation and I say well i love visiting here but i will spend like almost R5k in a week at times and then oneday win R3k or R5k , but its not fair, Im always tagging the whole Family along and Im the only one spending money ,, Im not complaining, but you asked how my visit was and Im being honest in my response, Thankyou Kind Regards A.Kleinbooi

They offer a wide variety of restaurants and entertainment for the non-gamblers. The parking is a bit of a rough walk though (not pleasant for ladies walking in heels), hence the 4 stars. And they have pictures of shuttles and shuttle stops but I never saw one shuttle in the few times I went there this week. Parking is only R10 per car for the visit which was a pleasant surprise. The Quarterdeck Restaurant (operated by Sun International) is quite a treat. So much food to choose from.

Honestly Grandwest standard has gone below zero!!!!!....this thing of hiring anyone thats looking for a job and not people who are passionate about the hospitality industry is truly hurting the experience us guests. You ask a question you get a sub par response of getaway from me. Workers are soooo rude. Unnecessary snarky comments as you walk past. Stereotype comments and looks which just ruins the whole experience for everyone. We tried to brush it off and ignore it but we were Soooo disappointed honestly

I must be honest. I love the ambiance. I love the Casino. Im retired. I would like to at least have a fighting chance. I have never had the urge to win large amount of money. The Casino is designed to take your money. If winning even a small amount occasionally, you love coming back. Coffee at the machine is such a treat. A small win is a bonus for a guy who lives alone in a Shabby tiny flat. The rent takes all my government pension. So as a retired Chef Im up some mornings at 2 or 3, to cater for family and friends to compensate my pension. I pay separately for water and Electric. And go to the Casino after...... To ENJOY?? Alas since Covid Die machines is so taai gestel Im never, NEVER REASONABLY HAPPY.

Nice and quite during this time of the day... they are fully compliant with covid regulations with friendly and very helpful staff positioned all over the casino...They can maybe just add arrows that indicate or show where the smoking area can be found cause I wanted to have a smoke outside but could see where the smoking area are at.

MVGs are profiled, we played various games at various bet levels and lower tiered MVG are getting free games/jackpot screens constantly, whereas the Platinum players just have to keep feeding GW money.2. Too many open machines out of operation during this time.3. I dont expect to win the highest prize in the house whenever I go, but A) I go alot and B) we are yet to win a big jackpot.4. The draws are rigged, the same people from the 7pm draw get called in the 8pm draw, never been called for that either.Just make it fair, we try to go there to relax but its become an absolute stress factory.

One of the worst Covid managements I have seen.The managers at magic company let people they know skip the line.You have to stand in a line to stand in a line to stand in a line.No bookings and confirmed online payments to minimize risk and time. People go to different areas but stand in the same line. You want to go bowling or do laser tag but stand in the same line as kids wanting to play other games. Step into the digital age GrandWest! The only thing efficient was the fast pass.

A very beautiful place to enjoy all kinds of games with family and friends. Went there with my colleagues and friends from Belgium 🇧🇪, Sudan 🇸🇩 and Zimbabwe 🇿🇼. We had a great time having fun by skating ⛸, bowling and playing different cascade games and of course we enjoyed the food there 😍. I also went to grandwest hall for crc Capetown harvest event 2019. It was a very nice experience in the presence of God. 🙏

Granwest expierience currently is just standing in queues want to play games stand in a queue want to eat stand in a queue. Standing in queue is what you will do most of the time.

Great place. Loads to do for everyone, adult or kid. Great selection of restaurants, movies, ice skating rink, selection of drinking spots, great selection of casino slots and table gaming. 2 hotels on property. Loads of parking and great views.

The layout and design is good and practical. Some decent food places. The casino has a wide range of slots and tables and boasts bar areas for drinks and sports. Overall good experience. The security and Covid-19 protocols are also commendable.

By far the worst of all the casinos that I ever visited. Hostile security guards told my child to remove his hoody (8 year old boy accompanied by his hole family has to remove his hoody as it is a security concern) this is pathetic.I guess some people are happy with the dilapidated interior, but it has a very negative reflection on Sun International… all the other casinos inland are stylish and modern. I will not return to GrandWest.The entertainment for the kids only available from 13:00… every one nowadays hide poor service and ignorance under the cloak of Covid19 regulations, but not one experience during my visit to the mother city was as unpleasant as this.
