Excellent lunch! Great service, portion sizes and delicious meals. We really enjoyed the Rickety Bridge Shiraz that we had with lunch and bought some bottles to take home with us.Oxtail and polenta, and pork ribs and chips. Our compliments to the team! The snow capped mountain view was a special bonus :)

The Tasting Plate at Paulina’s restaurant is truly the best of both worlds!A selection of three food portions served on one tasting plate, paired with complementing wines. We chose the Tasting Plate 1 option:1. Locally sourced fish on a bed of baby potatoes, leeks and topped with a tomato salsa Paired with Foundation Stone White2. Mild coconut-based chicken curry with jasmine rice, a homemade roti, and coconut shavings Paired with Rickety Bridge Chardonnay3. Homemade mushroom gnocchi with a hint of garlic and chilli Paired with Rickety Bridge MerlotAnd what a delicious choice it was!😋 Thereafter we indulged in a wine tasting at the tasting room and the staff were very understanding when we asked if we could only taste white wines. The Chardonnay was hands down our favourite!

Rickety Bridge is my favorite wine farm in the Cape. Their wine is fantastic, my personal preference being the Semillon, a rare white that has legs like no other. Today was our fourth visit and as always our wine tasting, a generous 5 for R60, was presented with humor and charm. Every adventure has been led by a different, yet delightful sommelier who delivers insightful attention with space to savor the moment. The views speak for themselves and Paulina’s is an exquisite restaurant that needs a review of its own.

An experience like no other...If I could give 10 stars I would. If you are in Franschoek and you can only do 1 farm, Rickety Bridge is the obvious choice. We have been at the farm for their Parkrun and we have enjoyed a wine tasting as a part of the Wine Tram experience. Our experience today however was out of this world. The Rickety Bridge, Panna Cotta and Wine Pairing is 1 of my 2 favourite pairings I have ever done (Rickety Bridge is one of 105 farms we have visited) the pairing is spectacular and the effort put into matching each wine with the Panna Cotta is evident. When it comes to wine the Chardonnay and Shiraz stand out. The Pinotage however was our favourite and we where lucky enough to taste their Cabernet Reserve and their Crossover (The Pinotage from their Icon range). To this day it is the most expensive bottle of wine I have purchased and I still feel like I got a bargain.Make sure you book if you want to do the Panna Cotta pairing, but if you are in the Cape Town/Stellenbosch/Franschoek area Rickety Bridge is a must. The tasting area is beautiful and sitting outside under the trees is great. Both occasions we were at the wine tasting our service was better than we could have hoped for and we were spoiled with more than we expected. If you love wine and you are looking for something unique Rickety Bridge is as good as it gets.

In Franschoek, a fantastic place called Rickety Bridge. Wine tasting at its best. A great blend of wines that are very delicately balanced. A great host, who is greatly knowledgeable on wines. Then, theres Ice Cream infused wine. An experience, that should NOT be missed, should you be wine tasting through Franschoek. The wine tasting center at Rickety Bridge is normally very busy, but when I visited it was a quiet Monday morning in the winter. Their wines are known to be very good, but the guy that was presenting the tasting (unfortunately I cant remember his name) made the whole experience even better. We spoke about the different flavour profiles and he started guiding me according to my tastes which was great. He didnt just have a lot of knowledge about the wines and winery, but also the surrounding Franschhoek Valley. The tasting area itself is beautiful and you cant help getting lost in thought while tasting the delicious wines and looking out at the surrounding mountains. There is also a lawn area where you can go relax and enjoy a bottle of wine, as well as play a bit of boules on a nice day. I had a great time and cant wait to visit again when the weather is warmer.

This is a review mainly for the guesthouse. When you ask 3000 rands per night (almost 300$), you have a responsibility to your clients and unfortunately, this establishment does not live up to expectations. The place is tired looking and has a general humidity smell. Lots of crack, chipped paint, dust and dirt (see pictures).Even the restaurant and wine tasting rooms had food on the floor and tables. We decided not to eat there after all.The rooms are dark and natural sunlight cannot enter. There is no view, at least from the Shiraz bedroom.Staff was nice and helpful, but very basic in terms of greeting and offered services. All in all, our stay was a great deception in every way.Definitely overpriced and not recommendable.
