Initially wanted to have the picnic but at R680 for what is more like snacks and no drinks not even water included, we opted for the deli and bought a salad, pie, de villiers icecream and coffees and sat at a table under the oak trees. Much more affordable and just as nice.

We were quite disappointed. Even though we only visited the Deli, we found the service to be very disengaging. At no point did we feel that anyone working there, was interested in helping us. The staff kept looking around when spoken to and they were more interested in the time . We arrived 30 minutes prior to them closing and it was evident that they just wanted to leave as they were busy counting till slips. Considering these trying times, one would expect an establishment such as this to have a fresh supply of soap in the toilets, but even that was lacking.

Boschendal Estate was the perfect backdrop for our SA Weddings Bride of the Year 2020 Friday night dinner! Their stunning Olive Press Venue has the most majestic views of their gardens and they arranged some stunning entertainment for our guests! The staff at Boschendal are some of the most professional we have ever worked with and it showed in the evening! Our guests had a plethora of food allergies, but Boschendal seamlessly ensured all dishes were perfectly matched and served! Boschendal Estate gave us a tantalising 3-course meal paired with the perfect wines. They even surprised all of us with a sabrage performed by their talented sommelier as welcome drinks! Boschendal Estate has multiple different venue options and we are sure that they will be able to make all of your event dreams come true!

Boschendal Wine Estate is a typical example of a classic farm. This beautiful wine estate offers a unique set of activities to explore. The most impressive of them is undoubtedly horse riding in the winelands. The guide is very experienced and extremely talented. I had a blast while riding my horse of the day: BLACK DIAMOND and I am a beginner! One cannot go to Boschendal without trying the horse riding activity, it is a MUST!A top destination for anyone who loves outdoor activities!

What a special place, we really enjoyed our time there. The place is clean and so well kept. The Gardner’s were friendly and helpful and the staff. The bike area if you have your own bike was free, how awesome is that. If you don’t have a bike you can hire one for a cost. They are awesome with kids you do not have to be worried at all. The good is delicious and yummy. The prices were not bad at all. There is ample parking. The wine tasting was great at some places the place looked abit dilapidated and needed work. The toilets are clean and awesome. Go and check it out it’s worth going to.

The food at the restaurant was absolutely amazing and cooked to perfection! Would definitely eat here again. My portion was a little on the small side, but my husband had enough. Service also very friendly. And beautiful to sit outside there. Wine tasting was ok: to taste only 5 entry-level wines for R90 is a bit expensive, even though they poured generously - but Im there to taste, not to drink half glasses - so I rather have smaller tasting samples and being able to taste more different wines.

A few weeks ago, I enjoyed staying at one of the most beautiful Cape Winelands. The boyfriend and I were looking for a cosy place to staycation for our first anniversary that was still close enough to Cape town, so Boschendal Wine Farm in Franschhoek was a perfect choice! We checked into Boschendal Wine Farm for a glorious one-night stay during the week. Boschendal was one of THE 9 BEST FAMILY HOTELS IN THE WORLD by Condé Nast Traveller for 2020 and has accommodation ranging from the historical Herbert Baker designed Cottage 1685, to beautifully restored farm cottages. We stayed in one of the Werf cottages at Boschendal. They are situated behind and adjacent to the historic Werf (farmstead) of Boschendal with captivating views of the surrounding countryside and mountains. Our cottage had its own fireplace, small kitchenette, patio with a Weber, while The Werf Restaurant and The Deli are within walking distance. Each room is equipped with all the essentials. For me, that is a USB plug points next to the bed, robes and slippers, makeup area, large bathtub, television and lounge area. Generous touches included a complimentary a plate of delicious chocolates; fresh farm produces for us to cook in our cottage and non-alcoholic beverages (since we are currently experiencing an alcohol ban due to COVID lockdown regulations in South Africa). The only thing that was truly missing was a Nespresso machine (great coffee for us is a non-negotiable in the mornings!)Making dinner at our cottage was another highlight of our stay, all items that Neill cooked was from The Farm Shop & Butchery and it included ribeye steak, sirloin, boerewors and fresh salads straight from Boschendals farm. The beauty of staying over at The Werft Cottages at Boschendal is that it feels like your own private residence. Apart from wandering the farm and beautiful gardens, most of our time was spent indoors, reading and relaxing next to the braai that evening. As much as I love living in Cape Town, theres something so magical about escaping it! Even for just a brief night away, it felt so surreal.

Boschendal estate is beautiful and lovely however the Restaurant was disappointing. Extremely expensive for the amount of food offered. The waitress offered to order food for the kids from the adjacent restaurant which never happened. We only ordered platters but it took forever and it seemed like not one of the staff were on the same page. And besides that is was unreasonable expensive for the amount of food received. It was our first visit but it was really disappointing. Especially after lock down and the current economic crisis you would think locals would be considered important enough to provide value for money.

Their are numerous different reasons to visit the beautiful Boschendal Wine Estate - from staying in one of their beautiful cottages to enjoy a relaxing picnic on their big green lawns. My wife and I really enjoy their wine and we decided to take some friends there while they were visiting us from Pretoria. They have several wines and a number of different tasting options available including a tasting of their 10 year Potstill Brandy which I recommend you give a try. We really enjoyed the tasting, but I was a bit sad to see that they had moved the tasting area from outdoors under the big green trees to inside the manor house. The manor house is beautiful, but I preferred the outdoor open area with the beautiful trees and gardens surrounding you. Overall we still had a fun time and will definitely visit again.

The waiters were really bad at providing us with a good experience. I’m not sure if it was the heat or their lack of training. We went on a Sunday early afternoon and we were never greeted with a smile, always an attitude even though we were being respectful and mindful of the fact that there were other patrons. The kindest person was Megan, the guide at the vehicle parking section. It was a sad experience as we hadn’t been there before.

Went for a wine tasting for our cousins birthday 1st on the wine tram. Wine steward was rude and very unprofessional and because we were a large group we had to all take the same tasting.... Over priced compared to the other farms. We had to ask for another steward as the 1st one clearly wasnt in the mood to serve us locals. Well I am glad we didnt waste the rest of our time and money rest of the route was superb. Boschendal need to polish their staff. I was told same glass for tasting which I refused. And had to insist I dont drink white and red from same glass. My 1st tasting ended with a lovely glugg of red wine one my dress. To say it was appalling would be an understatement. If you take the wine tram and you are a local skip is our advise and honest review. Or act like a foreigner perhaps you will get 5 glasses laid out and be treated better.

Great place to pick up some meat, cheese, bread and a glass of wine for a picnic. Plenty of table seating outdoors under the trees. I found the wines decent, but I did not end up picking up a bottle here as I found more exciting wines elsewhere. We liked Boschendal, but to be honest the wine wasn’t really what we like and the tasting experience was quite frustrating. On our first lunch, the lovely guy at the shop cooked us some amazing rump on the brai. The deli served a great selection of high quality food. Service was fab too.Wine tasting- as part of our stay we were gifted a wine tasting package. The boschendal wine selection is superb and the experience was very relaxed and enjoyable.Tree house kids club- blown away by this! Farm foraging, fire cooking, walks, play, art, animal feeding, wild life movies. So much fun had by our four year old. Thank you!Spa- not really a spa and more of a treatment are but lovely all the same. In fact, one of the best massages I’ve ever had (I’ve had a lot).
