Absolutely loved it 😁👌...Love the rustic tone of the restaurant, love the fireplace burning keeping us warm on a rainy day.Food was reasonably priced, with the quality not lacking either. Our waitress, Michelle or something like that was rather sweet and efficient even though the place started getting real busy.Ended spend more than what we bargained for, but with great service, delicious food 🍲 and a warm and welcoming atmosphere it was worth it.

The food is always excellent. The ambiance enhanced with fire place on a cold rainy day. Service of the highest quality. What more can you ask for? Just bring good company!

Had a wonderful late breakfast there. Friendly and efficient service. Were offered either breakfast or lunch menu. Nice variety of food to choose from. Also had some delicious looking cakes for those looking for cake and tea/coffee.

Absolutely love the place.. Ricardo (manager, I assume) was warm and welcoming. Shaun(waiter) too was excellent and so were the rest of the staff. My kids want to go back there everyday..

We did no eat here, but the menu was not appealing to us, although priced competativly. However the wine is ludicrously priced. Rose wine is R485 per bottle and some white and red blends are over a R1000 per bottle. You can get wine for over R3000 per bottle. Definitely price for the imagrant market with no consideration for the locals. Ludicrous

Although Franschhoek isnt the busy place it once was, we were very happy to have a late lunch here and feel part of the town. Lovely smoked trout salad and a glass of wine on a hot day was just what was needed. The cooling spray was much appreciated.

The setting was beautiful. Lovely day in Franschoek. The cuppacino was excellent, my friend had a normal coffee also impressed. He had a traditional English Breakfast and I the South African Breakfast. The food was good and our waiter brilliant. Thank you.

This place has everything, Super helpful and polite staff. I had coffee and an English breakfast. Food was done nice, a bit on the light side if you a big guy and a bit hungry, small pork sausages and small rushers of nice crispy beacon and you also pay separately for your coffee which pushes the price right up. Its not included or bottomless. But it is good coffee. This is a tourists hot spot so it can be expected. I still give it a 4 compared to the other choices in this area.

I am torn here. It is a beautiful spot, the food was great, but as we got to the bottom of our olives there was a pip. Olive pips tend to have been previously spat out by someone. I understand the covid fallout for those in hospitality industry means that every cent counts in order to make a living. The question I have to ask myself is, were the olives recycled from a prior client and if so, I wonder what potential health risks I could have been exposed to with the pip?I was offered an apology. Maybe that was an admission of guilt or maybe all of the olives were freshly served from a jar and they were just making me feel acknowledged. I did not ask for any reduction in my bill, and none was offered. I am left with more questions than answers.

Owners Leo and Ilse always on point with customer service. Chef Herman Tau Steyns food is fresh, tasty, modern yet steeped in the tradition of South Africas cullinary influences! Had the privilege to test the new Cinnamon cupcake styled bun! HEAVEN on the lips. Brittle crust that have a hint of toffee and scrumptious and soft inner flavoured with a buttermilk cinnamon. Already dreaming about the next visit...

Best on the street

Our favorite place to go for Sunday breakfast! Usually quiet with lovely music playing. Service is attentive and the food is very good. They have a new menu with way more affordable prices as well, which is probably a good call in these tough times. We will always be back for more!

Fabulous stopover en route to Hermanus. The breakfast was amazing. My crepe filled with haloumi avo bacon and tomato was brilliant and hubbys trout omelette was superb. We will be back!!

Coffee was terrible. There is little I dislike more than being told everything on the menu is excellent - shouldve known everything is awful. Ordered banana & caramel pancake that looked like slop on a plate. I can make better-tasting pancakes at home. Not worth the money. Perhaps their meals are better, but I probably wont be back & will never know. On a more positive note, the peach ice tea was nice.

Delightful restaurant... Had a very good breakfast there. They have a long breakfast menu with very different ideas. I had eggs on a waffle with bacon and fried banana and syrup. Delicious...

Food not good. Burger was a good size but patty tasted awful. Calamari main more like a starter portion, tough and not good flavours
