Five stars all around. My wife and I stayed in one of the small Werf cottages and absolutely loved our weekend. The accommodation was just perfect for two people. The restaurant food was exceptional. The staff was top-notch. We loved exploring the beautiful grounds. What incredible views. And what made this so nice was the on-site store and butchery. You could truly show up and know that you had endless options. While we didn’t bring our kids – and honestly think it’s funny that anyone would for such a special adults spot ;) – it really is quite kid friendly as well. Nothing more to say than amazing!

Great setup. This is on the left, Werf side of the estate and very accommodating staff. We hadnt booked for the plum picking activity and were about to call it a day when the event manager arranged a make-up session for myself and a group of others whom missed the picking timing. This made the day and was greatly appreciated. 6 star worthy *** ***

My family stayed at Boschendal in the Orchard cottages to celebrate my 40th birthday. From the planning experience to the cottages to the complimentary experiences - we were blown away. Our entire stay was seamless. The farm is exquisite. Runs, hikes, engaging and exciting activities for the kids. Great reception staff. The events team who organised our Friday dinner were wonderful - easy to work with, went the extra mile and everything looked beautiful. We cant wait to go back!

So many options to keep you entertained - adults and kiddies. Casual take out eatery or sit down restaurant. Trail bike riding for different levels of difficulty. Coolest tree house play area and mini BMX track. Pony trot for children. Picnic grassed area, and lots of space for children to run. Free entry, covid temp check done at the gate. Accommodation and spa too!

This place was fantastic. The food, wine, and service were absolutely amazing. Definitely make a reservation for lunch ahead of time and get there early for a wine tasting. Ivan, in particular, made our visit better. He went out of his way to drive us across the vast farm and help coordinate the tastings, cellar tour, and lunch. The wine was amazing and we bought several bottles to take home. Then lunch was delicious and filling. Strongly recommend a visit to this wonderful farm.

We came for Christmas Eve dinner here and it was definitely one of the best Christmas dinners we have had. The food is brilliant, fresh and innovative, they grow their own vegetable and fruits on the premises, so everything is bio quality and tasteful. You can take a walk in their gardens. The venue is very fancy with great furnishes and decorated by someone with great taste. The wine is absolutely stunning too!

Very enjoyable experience. Boschendal has it all with views, beautiful wine, great services. We did the rose garden picnic. The food was tasty but we didn’t leave completely stuffed. We drove over the other other side of the winery and walked around for a while and found at the front where there is a little pavilion. They had giant bean bags an hammocks. We went lay down and took a quick power nap. It was so relaxing and a nice breeze blowing through (we went in September). Highly recommend.

Did a rose garden picnic this past weekend. We had such a lovely day, cannot wait to be back. Great spot for a family day out, also great for a romantic date. Picnic food is fresh and tasty, quick, friendly service when getting your baskets, bean bags/hammocks and wine. Waiters bring everything to a spot you choose with a smile and go the extra mile for you if you need. They check in regularly for extra orders of wine or food. Really the ultimate picnic experience! Booking ahead and getting there early makes things smoother, basket collection is from 12 I think but you can arrive earlier and gardens close at 5pm. Having some extra picnic supplies came in handy, like a sharp knife to cut chicken & ciabatta bread. Depending on where you sit, toilets are a small walk, but clean and well stocked. Would definitely recommend!

Great outdoor picnic spot. We visited the Rhone Rose Garden which is a full service picnic area. We had a lovely table under the trees with loads of lawn space for the kids to run around. Bring a ball to add to the fun.The picnic baskets were packed to the brim filled with yummy snacks... Some a little more intense than Im used to such as the farm style chicken liver but it was all very tasty.

Werf farm picnic: Awesome environment and great service, I will definitely be back. They provide picnic blankets and seating also bean bags for a reasonable price. You can enjoy the shade under large pine tree cover or bask in the sun. We sat and enjoyed live music while the children played on the near by jungle gym Make sure your children are wearing shoes when running on the grass, the area is riddled with tiny thorns. The picnic comes with ice-cream to enjoy at the end.

The Farm Spa is an excellent choice!! The staff are welcoming, friendly and kind. The massage itself was amazing. I only have 1 recommendation, but its only for my personal preference. The setting was absolutely stunning with the Rhone seated picnics being a great, novel idea.Despite having very generous portions, for the price the picnic had some very poorly made elements. The humus was hard and seemed old. Also the cabbage salad was very roughly cut, totally dry with some elements of the salad that seemed to be bits of skin and even a few unwashed radishes in it.There was also a 10 % service charge for the table which would be fair enough however there is not enough service to justify this. We had a table for 14, the picnics were dumped in a pile, we then cleared up all the plates at the end. As well as this we needed to get up a few times to order drinks. This was by no means the fault of the waitress rather the fact that they were over loaded.Lastly I felt that as the picnic was packed in advance it was very wasteful in the amount of excess packaging they created. It was such an amazing location, I hope that these can be remedied as it could be so much better.

Very inexperienced staff. Most of the time being busy doing nothing. Unfriendly and impolite too. After 20 minutes they discovered us, the second table for a tasting. This was most definitely the worst experience we had during one of many visits to the region.

Brilliant for families. Orchard cottages recommended over Werf cottages - especially over winter - if you have kids (better insulated, well equipped kitchens, separate room, lots of space for kids to play and quieter - ie away from loud traffic on road by the main entrance). All in all a fantastic place to explore on a bike (bring your own or rent), eat farm fresh fare and see a range of domesticated animals (from piglets to beautiful black angus cows).

We were disapointed by our experience at the Boschendal Estate when we found out that they no longer produced their own wines and that they have outsourced it to Douglas Green, we felt lied to when we found that out. So dont expect to get great deals as they buy their stock back from Douglas Green, you would get a better price on Boschendal wines at a local grocery outlet like Pick n Pay Liquor or a Tops Liquor store. If you want to go for a wonderful lunch with a beautiful setting thou, then you will definitely not be disapointed as the estate is breathtaking.

This is by far the best wine farm/ holiday destination/ eatery/ wine tasting 0lace on earth. The staff is wonderful, always happy and helpful. The scenery is tremendous. There are not only grape vines but also beautiful flowers and vegetables growing all over the property. There is a great bicycle rout for any adventurous riders. They have the most amazing history at boschendal. Wonderful food wonderful staff and wonderful land. Staying here you always want to stay for longer. The most beautifully decorated rooms with lots of hints to the history of boschendal. I can not say that I have ever been to a better place in my life. Well done boschendal, you are the best by far. Keep. Up the spectacular work. Also if you can, speak to matt, he is the manager of hospitality. Great wine too. This is a MUST DO! Fantastic tour with Realton, a tremendous guide and host. He knows the history of the estate, and man, oh man, does he know his wines! We did his champagne tasting menu in the Manor House and LOVED IT! Four different high quality champagnes, each paired with a lucious small dish. OMG, were they great! Then we went off and did their picnic lunch--wonderful with enough food for several very hungry people! We could not have been happier and strongly urge you to add Boschendal to your Cape Town itinerary. A 10!
