Had the cheeseburger and a strawberry milkshake... pretty good. Thought Id need chips, but the burger is quite a decent size. It will be very hot there in summer as there isnt much shade.

Took the kids to Roastys after an impromptu Sunday drive. They loved the experience and the food. I loved the service and convenience. They also had tasty milkshakes and their prices are very reasonable.

Such a great spot to have fantastic quick meals. The grilled chicken burger is consistently delicious (we have had it twice). We have also had the beef burger, bacon and cheese disco fries and the peanut butter milkshake, all were very yummy. Such pleasant staff and great roadhouse environment! Definitely a must visit 😃

An incredible little gem on Witkoppen road. Pumping with great music and beautiful asthetics adding to a wholesome atmosphere. Perfect for Covid friendly dates or hangouts. Their Monday burger special and Wednesday milkshake special are extremely tasty and affordable. The service is friendly, kind, and so helpful. Would give it more than 5 stars if I could.

My wife and myself popped in yesterday for lunch as we wanted a different old-school experience. What a delight-staff were great and the pork and beef burgers we had were scrumptious, plus the best chips i have had in ages-crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Will definitely be going back for more.

PARK | EAT | GOMr man and I were craving a kota but we were like within the suburbs of Fourways 😅After a little search on the interweb, we saw ourselves at The Road House 🍽 The milkshakes were great 😋 The kota looked more like a bunny chow and you have to pay extra for achaar. Would have loved a little more flavor but it wasnt bad.If youre someone who likes the ambiance that comes with eating in your car, listening to a banging playlist, at an affordable local establishment then its for you. I think it would make for an interesting first date 🙆🏾‍♀️Oh and vegans and vegetarians please dont go there thinking you have options 🙈... They will help you out but make sure they know whats up...

A nice way to experience some good food!Really enjoyed going here. The food is REALLY good! The prices are reasonable and the waiters are very helpul!Its a shame they dont have a larger plot of land as more space between cars would make things more comfortable. Also dont let your car battery die... I speak from experience. Whoops...Overall an experience you should at least try and in the least you will LOVE the food!

When I think (remember) Roadhouse, I think Spaghetti Bolognaise, Boerewors Roll, Russian & Chips, Curry & Rice, and Mixed Grill. None of these here, and for us hungry Madalas, I would have expected a few Pap and... items on their menu. Slightly disappointing, but thats just me.

Friendly staff and relatively quick turnaround time even though they were pretty busy - visited one early Friday evening. Food was tasty and fresh. Five stars if they just add a few more chips to their Full Portion offer.Will be back :)

Our first visit, probably more out of curiosity. We were not disappointed, the service is good, friendly and efficient staff. The food is good, Cheeseburger, Russian Roll, Pork Belly Roll were pleasant and somewhat generous The Vanilla Milkshake was probably the highlight. Weve been and seen, Im happy generally, will probably drop by again.

I am reluctant to give 5 stars because space is limited and I fear it will become to popular 😁But I have to be fair, nice menu with every item we ordered being excellent quality and fairly priced.And of course of server was attentive without being pushy.We will be back, if we can get in.

Staff were wonderful, unfortunately our order was wrong and we did not get what we ordered, as we opted for a takeaway. Could I suggest as it was very busy, a little more attention to what the client orders as I paid for meals and desserts which were not correct. Sadly 😕

The food was disappointing, under prepared burger and the cheese sauce on the chips tasted watered down. The milkshake tasted more like too much syrup was put in the mix than actual ice cream. Had high expectations, especially having went to other roadhouses before, this was a complete let down.

Repeatedly dead average - Toasted Chicken Mayo - Burgers, even Dagwood. Definately not bad, but far from really amazing also. Cuppacinos are debatable, definately worthwhile the missions just to get theirs. Theu however have really really nice Spring Rolls! Try that and you wont be disappointed for what you pay. Cant say Ive tried their KOTAs or milkshakes yet, but im working may way through their menu to find what makes them special or atleast abobe average.

Had a lunch there today. Im a little on the fence. Being in the home catering industry myself, I found the service a little a slow for order to be taken. I tried the beef curry and have to be honest, I was dissappointed. Meat tender, but very very little of it and the 500 ml container was more rice and sauce. I also found the chutney to be runny and flavourless, actually, all the sauces were a bit on the liquid side.In my opinion, curry was more burn, no real flavour. I consider a curry to be a very traditional roadhouse meal, so dissappointed. All in all, curry over priced for what you got.I also think they might need a different sort of tray to what they use, as they hang down on the car window, so everything slides off.Burgers looked better from what I saw. Cant comment on quality of patty. Milkshakes were expensive for size of cup.

Concept ia great and food is okay. I feel its not managed properly as there is no supervisor or manager on premise. Very poor service. Had to wait over an hour for the food to arrive (roughly 30 min before our order was taken). Then another disappointment as the wrong order was served to us. Although he had taken the right order but brought us the wrong burger that wasnt ordered. After all this we waited again for the correct order to arrive. Burger was a bit messy and no wet wipes were given.

Was pleasantly surprised how busy this outlet was and the wonderful innovative ways they manage to combat the governments ongoing lockdown madness. 10 stars for innovation. Unfortunately the waiter that assisted us seemed to have been completely brain dead and frustratingly messed up the entire order. The service was incredibly slow for a few milkshakes order only....! Sadly incompetent staff like this will mean the end of them. Enjoy the experience but dont expect to receive what you are ordered. And if youre prepared to complain be prepared to wait the que.

I ordered a chilli cheeseburger and a hot chocolate, my son had the russian roll and a chocolate milkshake and my wife had a chilli chicken burger and a cappuccino and we ordered chips to share. We all loved the meals and the chips were hot fresh and awesome. Service was good and quick . We chose to sit at the tables and have our meals while others drove in and sat in their cars enjoying a milkshake or something else from the menu. We will definitely be back. The one thing I found is it is a bit hard to eat out our the baskets provided when the meal is served. Other than that it was a great experience and not too badly priced with all that we ordered coming in under R300. Visited again for ice cream. The wife and I ordered the caramel crazy and my son the chocolate split. The caramel crazy was disappointing. The caramel sauce did not taste good at all. Definitely not the best ice-cream experience for the price. The chocolate split was also disappointing. The sauces really did not taste good. I personally would not recommend the ice-cream. Well these two anyway.

We wanted to just get out of the house for a sunday treat and sadly it was not a great experience. The caramel sauce in our caramel crazy ice cream treat was not caramel but chocolate sause and had a sour taste. Our 2year old that loves ice cream also did not like it as her stawberry sauce was also sour. Disappointed is an understatement.

The food was good, the only problem with the baskets is that the white paper in it dissolves easily so eating loaded fries will obviously leave a mess but still yummy 😋

Milkshakes are amazing, Dagwood is amazing, burgers are amazing. Amazing old school cafe type slap chips. Cant rave about this plus enough! Been wishing for years for a decent take out for burgers and chips.. hopefully they keep up the excellent high standards.

17 July 2021 - UPDATE TO MY FIRST REVIEWOkay, so I gave Roastys yet another chance. While I still believe the prices are a bit steep and the portions smaller than typical Roadhouse fare, I must say that the quality was way better. I had the beef dunker again and it was lovely. It was hardly substantial that one could not finish it, but it was good. What did surprise me most was the burger. It will go down as one of the most delicious beef patties around. Certainly better tasting than all other roadhouses and takeaways I know. It is a pity that when one adds chips to some burgers, the price starts getting close to what one would pay at the adjoining steakhouse for a more substantial burger, chips and the addition of onion rings. However, the burger is utterly DELICIOUS and that is what matters most. Sadly, I ordered a chilli cheeseburger the second time around, and they left out the chillies. So, just a cheeseburger. Disappointingly, the Milo cost R29, was quite small, and I had to add two more spoons of Milo when I got home as it was tasteless. Food establishments must always remember that money saved equals customers shaved. My score remains the same.4 July 2021 - FIRST REVIEWI have read quite a few positive reviews, and some mixed. I am actually jealous. We seriously wanted to like this Roadhouse. We really did. Particularly because its so close to home. And we gave them a few chances. However, while it looks like a phenomenal Roadhouse from the outside, our PERSONAL experience was anything but that on the inside, unfortunately. Maybe we just happened to have a sad experience. Or perhaps our expectations were far higher considering we know every Roadhouse all over Gauteng.The offerings here are meagre, especially if you compare it to other Roadhouses in the South, East and West. In addition, we did find them quite pricey, taking into consideration the portion sizes. We tried a few items and were not blown away at all.First up was the Beef Dunker, at around R75. I needed a magnifying glass to find the beef, and I am serious. I think we expected a nice portion of rare roast beef with dunking gravy, but got what seemed like some kind of thinly sliced sandwich meat that was so meagre, we were horrified.Next was the Jozi King Kota at close to R70. My partner felt that it was unmemorable in terms of taste and quality, and the price too high. And hardly a King kota. I would suggest that Roastys pay a visit to one of the Kota Joes Roadhouses to understand what a quality Kota is all about.I suppose one shouldnt expect much from a Russian Roll at close to R40. But it was just that - a Russian on a roll.The full portion of chips at close to R40 was surprising. With nearby vetkoek eateries and fish n chips take-aways serving probably double or even triple this portion for this price, and of the same or better quality, we were not amused. The chips were tasty though.The milkshakes were over R50 each and, sadly, not as special as those we have enjoyed in nearby restaurants and far-flung Roadhouses. I suppose at that price, and being at a Roadhouse, we expected way more. For the same price at some nearby restaurants, it is sometimes difficult to finish a special milkshake. We were disappointed.Might I suggest that the team at Roastys take a drive to Germiston, Edenvale, Krugersdorp, Boksburg, Alberton and the like, and get a better sense of what is on offer at other Roadhouses. We have all these places to make the comparison, and Roastys unfortunately does not live up to any of them. Sadly, I would say they have Johannesburg North prices with small portions (sometimes horrifyingly meagre, like the beef dunker), and okay quality. I hope things change. Instead, we will rather drive the 30-odd kilometres for better Roadhouse fare at cheaper prices. Or we need some more competition in the North, which I will be pushing for.

The cheese chips wast very cheesy, almost just a white sauce poured over, and the food wasnt as desirable as they make it appear on the pictures. It was just a meal, nothing memorable sadly. Not the way I remember roadhouse food.

One bite of the cheese burger and you are transported back to the good old road house days. Ingredients super fresh and top quality, this really came through on the salad, tried most items on the menu the only thing I could critique a little was the loaded fries where slightly over salted. Super stoked we have a quality road house in our backyard finally.

Have incredible food, milkshakes are to die for. And the service is unbelievable! They are friendly, helpful and great at what they do.

Their French fries were delicious. The burger looked wholesome but had absolutely no flavour. It would have helped if they gave salt and pepper with the burger. I tried to get the waitresses attention, to no avail. I did tell her when she came to get payment that the burger was tasteless. Such a pity.

Was very excited to find a roadhouse so close but was disappointed by what we got. The cheeae fries were good. We also ordered the GingerBread Latte, the beef dunker and the beef and cheese. The latte is a a standard latte with ginger and a ginger biscuit. Not really a latte. The beef dunker wask okay but had bits of raw meat that was manageable once removed. The beef and cheese was quite terrible. Almost all the meat was rare. No variations in how meat is prepared noted concerning the beef and so we asked it to be recooked. It wasnt all cooked in round 2 so we left and threw the food away. Very disappointing experience and wasted money. Will have to go to the roadhouses further away but offer better standards and tastes.

Waited over 30min for service and left without receiving. Waiters passed by but did not acknowledge us at all. There is clearly a packing order that we were at the tail end of. Would have said worst service ever received -but I didnt receive any service
