Very good food, great service.... though abit expensive it was a good experience

Food was delicious but the waitress was unfriendly and never attend to us efficiently

Food was good. Unfortunately, the manager and some kitchen staff did not have their masks on. I had to ask our waitress to please tell the manager to put his mask on as I am pregnant and VERY paranoid about covid. He was literally talking over peoples food while talking to the kitchen staffWe ate and left. When I walked passed i happened to see that he was walking around the restaurant again with no mask. Its very unsettling and makes 1 VERY anxious especially because they deal with peoples food. This could cause very big problems for your restaurant as not applying to covid protocols.

The fish is always amazing. The service can use some work. There is no one at the entrance to seat customers and we waited around 15 minutes before we walked into the restaurant and asked if we could get a table. Once we got a table and the orders were taken, things moved at a better pace. They definitely need to work on their service

Extremely bad service, drinks took over 30mins to get to 1 (a can of fanta) of us where they only then informed us they dont have what the other ordered (even though the restaurant only had a few people to serve) food eventually arrived after about an hour of ordering and it was cold.The next morning all of us where sick as well.My colleague went there about 3 days later and complained about the same service and being sick the next day.

Restaurant lovely and clean waiters friendly. Service from kitchen order poor +-45 waiting on order. Calamari and fish combo very disappointed. Calamari tubes fried to death tough and burnt unbeatable. Fish and salad refreshing. Suggest better supervision in kitchen. For the price to be paid on a combo not worth it. Very disappointing.

Well prepared meals time and time again! Meals are delicious and comes to the table piping hot. Waitresses are friendly. Highly commendable service!

Ocean basket at Pavilion mall - terrible place to order take away sussi.I’ve seen worst but this was a waste of my money.I recommend that you don’t go there and spend your money there.Take a look at my pictures and just imagine how terrible it taste as well. I can’t eat this food. Now I have to bin it🤬🤬I’m highly disappointed...Refund please - 😤😤😤😤

Excellent value for money. All time fave Hake & Calamari combo with delicious lemon butter sauce never disappoints. Such a generous portion.

Great service. Except I wish it was displayed somewhere by the entrance tgat they dont serve alcohol as thats a bit if a deal breaker for me. Other than tgat the premises are in good condition and the staff are courteous

The service was good. But the Prawns were overcooked and tough. After complaining, the waitress replaced it with new prawns which were not as bad but still horribly overcooked. The sushi was decent but they had added too much salt to one.

I had a great time here.

The worst Ocean Baskets ever. I will not recommend anyone to eat there. I ordered platter for 1 last week and they food was terrible.

Used to be probably the best branch of ocean basket in KZN before the upgrade to the store. Its just average now. My last experience at the restaurant wasnt the best I had with regards to the food. Still a nice place though.

Food was floating in butter. Could not taste anything else. When queried with management, they said that is how they serve their food. What a waste of food.

A fairly good eating experience in level 2 lock down , food was well prepared and waiter gave reasonable service .

Had their sushi platter for takeaway, it was bad and not fresh.Waiter used his hands to rearrange the condiments container and then placed it directly on the sushi, right after handling the money machine.

Ordered the calamari and it was very tasty. The staff were very helpful and chatty. Would highly recommend

Ocean basket Pavillion...they always want to squash you in a corner...most of the time you cannot sit on the upstairs seating...they always have stories...when they do this...walk away that’s what I do...that will eventually teach them...to give customers the service we require...not being shoved so close to people...especially during COVID19

Everything ordered was well seasoned and delectable. Despite ordering it as a take out, the meal portions were not reduced. Excellent service from the lady who assisted me (think her name was Chanal).

Customer service is something to be desired. They refused to serve us a starter dish because they were running short and wanted us to order a platter in order to get that dish. They need to re-look at their management if they can’t plan properly, especially during the December period. They lost our business to Pizza Hut that day

Im sitting in the restaurant currently. The waitresses are brilliant. But I just witnessed one of the chefs or chefs assistants eat a little bit of a customers potato chips straight off the plate. Very very unprofessional.

Really enjoyed their garlic roll starter! The sushi was well prepared and fresh. The prawn combos offered were very well seasoned. The service is always friendly and the portion sizes are reasonable. Their desserts are also amazing! There are no signature dishes per se, but their seafood is top notch.

We visited earlier this week and was really disappointed with the meals. This from the last time was enough to decide this was the last time. Meals were not prepared properly and this was amongst the different meals chosen. Used to love the stir fry but this was horrible. Apparently no availability pf the bassa fish as well. The veg ordered never came with meals and when requested, was quickly microwaved from frozen. Its was watery and not creamy like it should be. The waiter had answers for each. The fish was cooked rare but that was because it was too big. The veg was watery because customers complained it was too creamy. Disappointing evening and wont visit them again. Thank you.

Clean with good service. Very disappointed that they are not licenced but even more disappointing is that they would not even allow corkage. Apparently their glasses would become contaminated. Seafood and wine go together. I have been to many Ocean Baskets and they have all served wine. One comes to expect standards from a franchise such as this to be maintained. Very disappointing.

We used to love this branch until the new owners took over. We visited it once and never again there after standards dropped amongst other things. The vibe was flat and to be frank we dont appreciate anothers religious beliefs being enforced in a public space regarding non service of alcohol.

Stay away!!! Poor food quality. My wife had a very bad experience after consuming sushi at the restaurant. When she informed them that she had food poisoning they were more concerned about doctors notes as proof instead of showing concern. They have Poor customer service and lack of management skills. Untill today, the only response we got from them was one e-mail with silly questions.

Went with some friends to Ocean Basket-pavilion for some sushi and a meal. We were seated and given the menu late. We wrote the bad service off because of the lunch-rush. We then only ordered an hour later. The waiter was not making eye-contact. We then received our drinks late and the food came in even later. They served my drink in a vase. We then had to wait again...for the glasses to arrive. The food was decent. Sushi rice was salty. The manager shouted at his workers and most of the customers noticed this. Hoping that this establishment changes the way they service their clients.
