Absolutely excellent, reasonably priced, pet friendly outside with heaters for warmth. We had lunch there 22 June and went back for dinner the next day. All staff were so accomodating, super fast and wonderfully friendly. We left Botanicum incredibly satisfied with our experience, I wish I didnt live 1600kms away so I could eat there everyday. The ambience and setting is good, but the food was seriously lacking in my opinion, I ordered a Ribeye steak as recommended, for some reason it was extremely salty, Wife ordered a Swordfish, came very dry. Ordered a Alfredo for the little one, came without Any sauce, which I cannot understand, why would a child eat a dry pasts, sent ot back to the kitchen to have some white sauce added. And then it was eatable. Manager walks up and down but does not attempt to check in with the tables, or asking anyone if they are still fine or enjoying their food, will definitely not be returning, should probably just ordered pizza as I understand this is was they specialise in, but then rather remove steak and fish from the menu in my opinion, and for a R1000 plus bill the food was seriously under par.

We had the most divine toasted sandwiches for lunch. It was well presented and very tasty. Our waiter was good and nothing was too much for him. All our requests were accommodated. Will definitely go back. The ambience & surroundings are beautiful & tranquil. 👌

We ended up at this venue by default. We were lucky to get a table because it was pretty busy. The food was good, service excellent. However, the noise level was simply too loud and normal conversation was almost impossible. Would have rated it higher if not for that.Will possibly return for another visit but definitely not on a Saturday night.

They make a good coffee shake, yes I like it even in winter, yum. Also a good spot to work between meetings.

What can I say. The service was world class, I honestly havent received my food this quick at any restaurant in Cape Town before. Not only was the service fast, but the food was AMAZING. I can simply recommend this restaurant for days! Will definitely be back for more. My wife says it is by far the tastiest, juiciest and best Vegan burger she has ever had. My steak was also brilliant, and I HIGHLY recommend the chocolate fondant!

We have recently discovered this place and love it. Lots of outdoor seating and space to work. Very helpful, approachable manager. Friendly staff. The bagels are a personal favourite. The only thing missing are a few more inexpensive breakfast options like pastries or similar.

Great service and top class food. Try the Negrini cocktail, delicious!! Calamari starter is a winner and end off your meal with the excellent homemade Lemongrass ice cream. The ice cream alone is worth a visit, Ill drive there every day of the week for this if I can. They also know how to make a great coffee!!

Large open tables outside so good for families but right on parking lot so cant let them wander, largish menu. Staff very friendly. I enjoy their breakfast bowl and a fresh pressed juice.

It is a lovely restaurant with a exceptional service, unfortunately our pasta and steak mains were very disappointing for what we had paid. I would suggest the pizza option as mains and the custard doughnuts which were delicious.

A great restaurant located in High Constantia. The menu offers steaks, salads and pizza. The ingredients are fresh and well thought out. There is a really wonderful atmosphere and vibe. You can choose to sit outdoors or indoors. There is free parking but parking is at a premium during peak times. Disabled parking is available. The entrance is wheelchair friendly. There is a motorized chair to take you to the bathrooms downstairs, but the bathrooms are not wheelchair accessible.

Superb food! Everyone at the table loved their meal. Everything was freshly made. Pizzas were brilliant and the chocolate fondant and mini doughnuts for dessert were sublime. Great service too.

Friendly staff, delicious coffee but disappointed that they had no jam to serve with the croissant, only marmalade! Not a good combination. The croissant was not good, it was like eating a bread roll. I was looking forward to crispy, buttery layers. Wont be ordering a croissant again.

Great service, great pizza, definitely worth trying

Went twice. First time we set down. Service was good, and food was fine. Second time got some croissants take out, they were not at all the same croissants we had eaten the first time, they were at least from the day before (maybe even older). I guess if you want to eat fresh here you need to sit down.

Theyre certainly not a pizza spot. However, Forget every other pizza place in CPTand do yourself a favour. Order the Lamb and Aubergine pizza a well known best seller there. Im only dissapointed I recently came across this as returning for more. Lovely little venue for a Wknd chill and meal.

Delicious food!

Simple menu,done well, with much better quality and wider range of lighter options and starters than the Cafe and Grill moniker might suggest. Menu, ingredients and food quality clearly driven by kitchen team that cares about good modern food. Great decor and comfortable spacious seating. We ate early supper today and had chilled but sophisticated background music from mellow 60s jazz to ambient that wasnt elevator music. Friendly professional service staff, and a selection of decent craft beer on tap at the bar. Menu choices really well thought out to suit just about any combination of appetite and budget, including excellent pizza with a chewy crust that only comes from properly handmade dough. Today was just a quick dinner and I had a R130 lamb burger that was really good and exactly rare as ordered, neither too raw nor heading towards grey, simple but not easy to do. There are not more than a handful of restaurants in the Southern Suburbs and South Peninsula that I know I will reliably enjoy, and this is one of them.

What a find! We were there last week Friday night and had a really lovely evening. Beautiful decor, relaxed but classy. The staff were all fantastic - efficient and attentive without being overbearing. Our food was absolutely delicious and the menu appeals to many with regards to choice and pricing. We were so surprised to hear that our waitron was in training - he was the highlight of the evening. Friendly, funny and such a peoples person. We cant wait to go back!

Great Benedict under the oak trees

Easy quick dinner with hubby after parents evening at school. The best was salt and pepper squid. Hubby order a steak, meat was good but too much spice and fries are way to much salty. Service was good. Find this restaurant way to noisy and it was not even full

Didnt think this place would impress me this much. But I was very impressed an pleasantly surprised. Alot of tourists seem to enjoy the cuisine and the atmosphere is light and welcoming. A great spot to work! I recommend it to all coffee and pizza lovers!

Service was terrible! Have they never heard of a notepad and pen? Ordered glass of red wine, they brought me white. Ordered steak which the menu said came with chips. Asked for medium rare. They came back twice to check. Ordered additional creamed spinach. They forgot to bring the chips and said they thought I wanted spinach instead of chips. After 10 minutes waiting for the chips I had to give back my food which was now cold. Then the waitress disappeared so sat for 15 minutes waiting for the bill. First time in my life I chose not to give a service tip!

Great location. Nice outdoor seating if not too windy...Service was very slow, but I guess that laid back vibe works for some people.Buttermilk flapjacks were great. Careful how you request your eggs... They will probably get it wrong and take long to do so!

The steak was great, and the main dishes on the other tables looked delicious, but there it ends. Waitress didnt bring steak knives with the steaks. Had to order my 500ml draft twice and when it came, it was served in two 340ml glasses as they where out of 500ml glasses. Waitress was no where to be found when we wanted to order dessert so the manager took our order but he too failed to return with any cutlery to get said dessert. The creme brulee had split and had a texture more like scrabble eggs than a smooth creme brulee.

We went for breakfast and the place has a good vibe with hospitable staff. Inspite of the raving reviews, we found our food to be rather bland and lack flavour especially the Green omelette. Pricey for an ordinary omelette!!

Such a good and chilled setting ...however, the service was a bit on the slow and unattentive side Had homemade tagliatelle with prawns... Sadly no hint of the chilli mentioned or even wait staff around to ask for some on the side... The sauce was on the too sweet side. Ill be back tho, maybe they just had an off day.

What a fantastic place. Totally new take on the grill. Our waiter Mechak had a wonderful calm disposition and remained attentative even when it got far busier during the evening. We had a visit from the chef to check how our meals were, and the manager, was always around overseeing. Cannot fault Botanicum. They are on top of there game
