The oxtail was very nice and fall off the bone tender, pity some pieces burned in the potjie. The Eisbein was nice and crispy. Service was very good.

October 8th . Cynthia ate the best ever chicken livers , prepared by Buylwa. We were served by the ever pleasant Pamela.Sept 30. Very good value breakfast featuring eggs , bacon , mushrooms , slice tomatoe , chips , toast with butter & jam . And a cappuccino. All for R84.But why are the eggs so small ? I understand that the owner needs to make a profit . But how about turning the aircon up by 1C ? Would surely save more money than serving tiny eggs ? And no-one would notice.July 18. Cynthia had a Malaysian curry which she said was too vinegary. I had chicken cordon bleu. First time in my life . I enjoyed it . R109 for the chicken. Excellent value .We sat outside and had excellent service from Pamela. We will go again for another meal .Great service from Christobel. A wonderful breakfast special. R 69 for bacon ,eggs, hashbrown , tomato, toast with butter and jam . A cappuccino is also included. Free wifi.

Waited an hour to find out they hadnt even started with our food. Decided to rather leave and get KFC. Food looked great that went to the other tables. Dont come hungry.

We have always loved this venue despite the fact that we haven’t visited for awhile and Covid-19 exacerbated this. Today we decided to order Sunday lunch via the Mr.D App. We ordered a Swiss - steak, with Swiss Cheese, mushrooms, onion-rings & Chips. An Eisbein, with sauerkraut, sweet-mustard, butternut, cream-ii-Spinach, chips & onion rings. And we were not disappointed at all, food arrived on time and the meats were prepared as requested. The meals were scrumptious and very delicious. Will always recommend this restaurant....

Food was tasty except for the bearnaise sauce with the chateaubriand which was also split. Needs to be removed from the plate during the flambe.

Very disappointed with Candice the manager on duty when I notified her of the quality of chips served, she was dismissive and claimed that it was my taste buds because she had served the chips the whole day. I had to call via telephone for service. The rest of the food we ordered and ambience was enjoyable. Pity it was my first stop arriving from Jozi!

Used to frequent a lot a while back, so was quite disappointed with the slow service. It could just be that we arrived just before 3 and they didnt want us to order the carvery, so they made us wait 20min before we saw a waitress. even our drinks took a long time. Food was great

Had a lovely meal on Tuesday when they had a special on steak and sushi. The waiter was helpful and the food delicious. The place was nice and neat and music nice and soft in the background. Only issue found was the one steak we had had a bit of a sinew but we were so full from the extra veggies etc that we didnt mind it in the end. Would recommend it for taking someone on a date or just hang out with few long lost friends.

Awesome service. What a menu of choice. Burgers, seafood, pasta, pizza and steaks. Their burgers were to die for. Watched the rugby and the atmosphere was pleasant. Managers was super interactive and available all the time. I enjoyed the place. Will be going back soon.

Food and drinks is very nice. Prices is reasonable and the whole atmosphere either inside or on the stoep is relaxing. It is definately a place to visit when you like to have good food and drinks. Staff is helpfull and professional. Quick on orders and friendly.I highly recommend De Kelder.

Had a fantastic evening there great food. Bartender was okay two people serving 50 People, bit concerned not following Covid protocol in the bar area, bar area extremely full dont clean tables or sanitation no social distance are being followed. Please keep us safe

Waitress didnt have full knowledge of the menu when asked for the craft beer selection.Ordered food and arrived in good time.Steak was cooked perfectly and had good flavor.Cordon Bleu was also delicious and well cooked.Pizza was a bit bland despite helpings of garlic and onion, which was slightly undercooked. Dough was a bit tough.Will be back but wont have the pizza again.

We waited a hour and a half for our food. I orderd chicen nachos but insead of sour cream I got whipped cream. Not my best experience

De Kelder Restaurant was actually very impressive and can be recommended. Pity there is no lift operator close by to assist the aged. I looked everywhere but could not find one.

Food is good with large portions. Service excellent. Atmosphere great. Magnificent view of Table Mountain. Large variety of drinks and meals on the Menu. Adequate parking. Altogether an enjoyable experience.

Surprisingly, the food was very good. Has a very varied menu. You can order anything from sushi to steak, from nachos to oxtail. The service was really attentive. A couple of times the floor manager came around to the table to ensure we were being looked after. Overall a very satisfying experience.

The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is amazing and so neat! Your experience is all that counts and you will not be disappointed 🌸

Good value and service

Waited over 40 minutes for our meal and the restaurant was empty. We ordered bacon poppers and the Sunday Carvery, the bacon was not cooked and the Carvery was extremely underwhelming. Hopefully management can make improvements as this place has a lot of potential. The staff was extremely friendly, the food however was disappointing to say the least.

Yikes, scary service. My wife asked for water, so the waitress (a older woman with super long nails) walked to another table where the people had just left, she took their half-drank leftover glasses of water, poured then into one glass, and came and gave it to my wife. I couldnt believe it and was too shocked to know how to respond. Went back a few months later, hoping that the waitress was no longer working there, but she was still there. Wont go back again. Pity one person ruins what could be a great restaurant.

The food was delicious and the service was great!!! They have a massive selection of beers on tap and an extensive menu selection... and even though there is no play area for kids... my little one was made to feel very special by our waitress! Well be back! ;)

We went out to De Kelder! Ok, so it was only to collect our food, but it was the same great food and excellent service as we had before lock down. As close as you can get to the good old days while stuck at home.

The whole restaurant smells of smoke, even the non-smoking area. For this reason only, we wont be back.Very interesting menu and although not the cheapest its reasonably priced. Based on the steaks we enjoyed there would be no reason not to try the rest of the menu.Our waiter was very friendly, helpful and gave very good service.Such a pity about their failure to give effective expression to smoking regulations.
