Honest, traditional, unpretentious salt of the earth Greek food. Having been to Mykonos and many other Greek Islands Ive had a good taste for the real Greek and this really hits the spot. Great service, great prices, great atmosphere! Highly recommended!

Lovely setting in Sea Point, live up to the Greek expectations, on Saturday nights you can have a blast of a Greek experience. The food is delicious, the platters are a must if youre in large groups. The gyro is made perfectly, which pairs well with some fresh hummus and home made chilli sauce. They have many options and all the food looks like its well worth the money. You cant go wrong with good Greek food, waiters are friendly and I had a great time.

A Gem found in the heart of Sea Point. It was the perfect Greek experience, the laid back atmosphere makes way to easy conversations at the table. The food was authentic and prepared to perfection. I opted for the Grilled Kingklip and salad. The decor inside and out is amazing and extremely welcoming. It has become one of my favourites

I tried the lamb youvetsi and it was just OK. It confirmed my suspicions that Marias at Dunkley Square makes the best youvetsi in Cape Town.

If youre looking for a seafood fine dining experience, take a short left to Mykonos. I could taste the ocean. I started off with some oysters to cleanse my palate before delving into their seafood curry as a main. It was divine. Expect equally good service. Ive reserved the 5th star because although the dish was delicious, the competition is quite stiff in Cape Town and the experience and food fell a star short of exceptional

Food is ok not crazy but ok. I understand that we are not in Greece though so cannot be too severe.The issue is more the service time which is quite slow.Took some wine as well which is good.To be noted that the personnel is very kind which is much appreciated.

Mykonos Taverna might look like nothing special from the outside but dont let the looks fool it, its an amazing restaurant that provides great speedy service, awesome food, variety and good portions.Also they have a special on the last Saturday of the month where you get authentic Greek food, Greek dancers and you can break some plates.Great place for supper, family events and etc.Loses one star because it feels that you are sometimes forgotten about after you order drinks and food.

Such a great spot in the Mother City giving one a taste of Greece. They open at 5:30pm so be sure to book a table as it gets crazy busy. Food is really delicious and staff are friendly. Prices are reasonable with an average of R80 for a main.

Like a slice of Greece on Sea Point main road. A deep, cool rattan covered terrace covers the length of the restaurant. Casual and relaxed vibe, but a cut above the beach side restaurants and bars which are the normal Atlantic seaboard establishments.Great menu with Greek style meze platters and wonderful fresh salads and seafood. The sardines are to die for, and there are meat and veggies options. Just the best place for a happy meal with friends.

We ordered the classic greek yiro - It could have been better served. The tzatziki sauce had way too many onions and overpowered the beef filling. The pita was much thicker than the traditional making the folded gyro quite messy. I would suggest the souvlakia as a better choice.

Nothing out of the ordinary but still enjoyable. Be aware that it is on a main road. A great atmosphere with friendly staff and good service.

We just got notified that our order was cancelled after calling 6 times speaking to a manager once who said he would send it off right away. The last few calls the phone was picked up and hung up.We placed our order at 19:30 and its now 21:30, had to make a plan to feed the kids.Turned my favourite Greek spot into a future NO GO.

Still as good went back... Seafood is excellent will go back again. Very friendly staff was my husband birthday dont think they allowed to give any thing awayso the Waiter kept wishing him all night so he did remember. Clean place xxxxx

Decent food. Tried the main dish, the signature lamb. Was decent tasting but not something i will want to try again. Ambience and staff was wonderful.

Although I enjoyed the Kingklip, the lamb dishes my companions had all looked delicious. Lamb chops, pulled lamb on pasta rice or lamb shank- all delicious. The cooked veggies of butternut and creamed spinach detracted from the main meal

Hate Moaning but...... Warm not hot food, cold plate, zero taste lamb but it was very tender indeed..... Sparkle of service as one walked in thats where it ended... Never a wine top up... A disinterested is everything OK......I dont understand dont these bosses teach the staff what the bloody word TIP meansTo insure promptness... Not stand chatting to other waiters...... I dispair

The food is delicious and the waiters are very fun. It can get difficult to talk during the night, when the music starts, but who cares?The traditional greek dancing and breaking plates is awesome! Definitely recommend!

Loved their food. To be honest, the CBC Amber Weiss made the food even more tasty. We ordered a meat platter for four and... the portioning was phenomenal. The only tad disappointment was the Baklava, it was way too sweet... felt like it missed something. Nevertheless, will go again!!!

Could not experience the true Mykonos, as its highly recommended restaurant, due to the lockdown regulations. Had Calamari, was fantastic. I will try it again in the near future.

Two meals and both times it was great experience. The big meat platter is a must try when with family or friends.

Delicious cuisine, cozy setting with knowledgeable staff. Treat for the whole family or that someone special.

Initially, the appeal of this restaurant was that it was actually open on a Sunday (which is more than I can say for quite a few other restaurants). However, I learnt pretty quickly that the food is its bread winner! It was delicious and was served in good time and without error. As a vegetarian at the time, I was limited to two main meals, one of which was just a plain Greek salad, which isnt great and possibly my only gripe with the restaurant - but what I got was still really yummy. AND its in Sea Point, which is one of my favourite areas in Cape Town.

Mykonos Taverna has a great vibe, the food is tasty and it is on your doorstep when you stay in Sea Point Cape Town.The staff is a friendly bunch and service is good. You will have an enjoyable time here if you decide to have an informal dinner.Do ask them about the Greek evening where they still do the traditional plate breaking.Therefore put the place on you list of eateries when you visit Cape Town, you may be pleasantly surprised.

Great food and friendly staff. Very enjoyable.

We enjoyed a super lunch today. Hummus with pita wedges, delicious sardines- I would definitely go back for these alone. Service was excellent and the desserts fully enjoyed by those who had them. A most pleasant experience and defintely a return trip will be on the cards.

If youre visiting for the first time, Id recommend getting the platter - youll get to sample the best that this restaurant has to offer. The flavours were well balanced and everything was delicious! We were particularly impressed by the hummus - this was probably the best hummus Ive had in a long time. Ill definitely come back for more. Service was great too.

Can’t fault the place!It’s rare that I’ll give 5 stars to a restaurant but everything about this place was excellent. The ambience, the service were both spot on, whilst the food was delicious. My partner had the chicken souvlaki meal with Greek salad, chips and pitta, whilst I had the same with lamb. The salad was full of flavour and sumptuous whilst the lamb was nice and tender - pink how it should be. Melted in your mouth. The homemade Tzatsiki was the best I’d had. A great choice

Best Greek takeaway in cape Town

A really good Sea Point stalwart. Mykonos Taverna has very good food and in typical Mediterranean style, you can easily need to be rolled out of the place after eating yourself into a stupor. The setting is great but can possibly risk the feel of being a chain restaurant.

Food was excellent. Service fast and efficient. My first taste of real Greek food. The best ever humus and Tzatziki. The vibe was definitely Greek and close to the Promenade for a nice walk after a long lunch.

Excellent Greek food with good table service. Reservations may be necessary, especially on busy nights, as many larger groups and families come here to have dinner. So check availability in advance if in doubt. The portions are generous, desserts were large and the offerings were good. Recommended.

Mykonos is a very good, Greek restaurant. Service can vary, but, generally, the food is very satisfying!!! Selection is great/relatively wide. Desserts are more limited, but few people make it to dessert. (Too full by then.) Tourists often visit and revisit the restaurant.

Gyro/Shwarma is good.

The food was great. I highly recommend their lamb shank. The service was good and timely, but I found the atmosphere a little lacking on my visit. Looks quite busy usually so make a booking to be safe.

Reservation is a must for Greek evenings. Its the last Saturday of the month. Festivities are good. Loved it.Starters were good. Lamb shank wasnt my favorite but dessert made up for it.
