We last visited Marios four years ago. Glad to say nothing has changed. Homely atmosphere, with simple, spectacular food coming out of the kitchen. Remains one of our favourite restaurants ever.

From the moment you walk in you feel welcomed.It is owner-driven and if you are looking for a real authentic Nonna in the Kitchen she is there every day making sure all food prepping is made to The Original Italian methods. Then the Real Touch of Italian love in the food makes all your senses alive.I had a Classic Regina with Feta and Real Italian crust filled with flavor.....yummmmLove this place.PS: Interesting Reading on the wall from happy clients.

The atmosphere is very rustic with lots of charm and very friendly waiter and owner. We had the margarita pizza with extra olive and avo, the capriciosa pizza and two caprese salads. Corkage is only R35. Super tasty food and really highly recommended. We will be back very soon :) thank you for great food and service.

Not a great variety in the menu, but what they offer is home made, fresh and of excellent quality. A bit noisy for my taste, but hey, this is an Italian restaurant.Prices are reasonable. Service was friendly.Best dish? Hard to say, I had the Italian antipasto as starter and pizza as main. Both were very nice.Will return. Recommended.

Pizza are thin and crispy, some like that, I dont and Im still hungry after 1 Pizza. That wouldnt be the case with a real Napolitan Pizza...

Wow wow wow! Our family absolutely loved this restaurant. From super friendly staff and a passionate owner, to the most amazing, authentic Italian food we have had in a long time. We absolutely loved the mussels, pizzas with thin crispy bases and a dessert selection to die for. We especially enjoyed the Tiramisu and Semifredo (almond praline ice-cream). Highly recommend giving Mario’s a try!

What can I say - this is not the Marios of yesteryear! No meat available except for the oxtail. Invariably veal would be my 1st choice, but none was available. Apparently the oxtail was nice but sadly lacking in accompanying vegetables as it only came with sad looking broccoli. Starter Focaccia served with Brinjals nice but no side plates provided at all. My main meal of Ravioli with Salmon was a touch doughy, tasteless as it lacked seasoning. All in all, not a place we would have selected in the first place for dinner but were invited out by friends.

Based in Green point main road, I expected bit more...Pasta was great, authentic style pasta. The decor and seating was bit out dated as was the music which made me feel like I was eating in an old city hall.What really was disappointing is that they didnt have a nice red wine to go with my pasta besides one sour option... apparently the wine just werent deliveredOther than outdated decor& limited red wine options the waiter was really cool and suggested next time we bring our own bottle....Would I visit again.... probably not

We went here based on reviews which looked quite good in general, however what we received was unacceptable. We had pasta which arrived 5 minutes after ordering. The pasta and mushrooms were raw and the sauce was unseasoned, cold cream. When paying R140 for a pasta one would expect to get a decent, cooked meal but this was totally unacceptable. The waiter was friendly.

Good food and very friendly service. Its quite a quirky little place, but you can definitely feel the authentic Italian vibe.

Two stars for the pizza and service. None for the pasta it was cold and stale. I could not eat it. I sent it back the manager did not even bother to come over. Thes day’s going out is a treat. We will not go back there again

Traditional family Italian restaurant with all our favourite dishes. Excellent and friendly reception and service by management/owners.Only downside was that were no other customers, so lacking atmosphere at lunch time. Imagine its more popular at night.

There was only one server for the whole restaurant and she was spread thin so getting service was a bit slow and not really attentive.I ordered some oysters {pictured) and the carbonara.Oysters were fresh and tasty. They had signs on the door stating they had just been caught.The carbonara was very bland. It stated there was supposed to be egg in my pasta but I definitely didnt see any egg. Its normally over easy. I didnt see any yellow yolk ANYWHERE in my dish. I HAD to put salt in my pasta as well. Portion was average.Would I return? Probably not. Maybe if I was in the area to give it another shot or if someone else suggested it.

Felt like your typical family-run Italian restaurant! The chairs are comfy and the decor is an interesting mix of scribbled walls, chandeliers and an Italian-themed wall of framed pictures. Not pretentious in its decorum at all. Our waiter was friendly and had an easy way about him, but I suspect most of the staff here won’t stand for any nonsense. They’re not shy to fill your wine glass all the way to the top. We waited quite a while for our food but I suspect that is due to the home-cooking style. The penne arrabbiata and the gnocchi arabbiata were both brilliant. My gnocchi was one of the best gnocchis I’ve tasted.

Can not recommend this restaurant. Bad service and a lot of things on the menu we’re out, and this was early in the evening. Took forever to get the starter (the only thing we end up ordering) and then we wanted to pay and leave the staff nearly ignored us.

Was disappointed. Ordered the veg soup, rocket salad and a pasta. Even as an italian restaurant, the only pasta choices were penne or spaghetti. Pasta was good though, but soup not nice - bland, overpriced and a very small portion. Didnt even have a side of bread for that price. Salad bland and basic. Wine and beer very expensive and limited, and not even a mint with the bill .

The WORST: This was possibly the worst restaurant experience I have had. Not only was the food fake Italian (it tasted like canned tomato sauce on pasta, and every sauce was the same no matter the name) but the service was so unkind and disrespectful. Really really bad! My family and I speculated if the bad treatment was racially motivated but who knows, maybe they are just plain rude. It’s a wonder they are open. Cape Town has so many good options for food but this was the worst.

Marios is a lovely family run Italian restaurant. The food is tasty and home made. It is not necessary the best looking on the plate so feels a lot like being served at someones home.The homemade tiramisu and trifle are very nice. They do need to improve their coffee though and they dont have decaf.

Authentic Italian food and home made pasta as you would expect. Nice cosy restaurant with good service in English Afrikaans and Italian. Unfortunately wine prices are way over the top which may discourage patrons. Then rather consider BYO?

Expected more. A real institution in Green Point but lacked a significant measure of enthusiasm. Perhaps complacent after all these years. Food was great though. Waiters somewhat moeg just going through the motions having to be called from outside by the owner at times.

Great traditional thin crust pizza starting from around R50 for a basic no topping. Wont find better at this price range in the area. Its one of my favourites in Cape Town along with Nonna Lina near Labia theatre. Dont forget to try some of the homemade deserts.. Devine :)
