Great food, quick service and beach side views. Came here for Saturday morning lunch and it had lots of good outdoor and indoor seating options well spaced from one another. The full menu of fresh wraps, grilled sandwiches and burgers were all well priced. Lots of drink both alcoholic, soft drinks, coffee, teas and milkshakes.I ordered the grilled chicken wrap and it had large chunks of white meat, beets and freshly made sweet potatoes chips. Delicious fresh food.

Popped in for a lunch. The views are great but the parking is limited in front of the place. There is ample parking across the park near the beach. There is outside and inside seating. Service was quick although there was Confusion about our booking. I ordered the chicken with feta and something wrap. The pulled pork wrap was ordered as was the fish and chips. Two droughts were ordered. The drinks came fast and chilled and good. My CBC was great. The pulled pork wrap was average but the dough was not great. Mine was the same except I must admit it was not tasty and yummy. A fail was the extremely thin sweet potato crisps which really left me wanting to steal some of the fish and chips chips. The fish was really good and the batter was fantastic. Atmosphere was lively and the view fantastic. We might be back but only If the kitchen next door is closed again...

Great spot for food and/or drinks on the seafront. Nice chilled vibe and great burgers, fish and chips etc. Service is good although this is not a place for you if youre in a rush. Definitely a great spot to relax.

The food is utterly delicious and the staff really friendly. Its also dog friendly. They could be more flexible in allowing substitutions when ordering as theyre quite pricey but Ill still return.

We decided to pop through to Melkbos today for lunch, found The Hart restaurant, and was very impressed. Our food was excellent value for money, service friendly and efficient. Our meals were filled with great defined flavors! Jealous was the name of our waiter.

Service abit slow, chips and onion rings are great so is the Burger, salad not so. Great for dogs, but take your own dog bowl as they dont seem bothered about giving dogs water.

Great tasting food, generous portions and options for healthier dining like substituting the Bun on burgers for a large mushroom at no extra cost. No idea where they find such large mushrooms. Good efficient service. Great view of Melkbosstrand beach

Visited the Hart restaurant on 16 April 2021. Lovely location with seaviews. Our waitress was attentive and friendly with a good sense of humour. Beer was great and wine nice.All 4 of us ordered the Fish and chips. Unfortunately the fish was overcooked to the point where portions seemed burnt. The batter was dark brown and tasted like burnt oil. The chips tasted like old oil.With hindsight we should have returned the order, instead we tried to salvage some edible portions, but eventually gave up. Everything seemed to taste and smell like old/burnt oil. The salad seemed wilted and old.We asked to see the chef, but he or she never bothered to come to our table.Sadly the disappointing meal distracted from the beauty of the premises.We expected a better meal for a bill of R1,100+Will go back for the setting, but not for the fish and chips!

What an amazing place. High up with a stunning view. Peaceful and quiet with a natural pool and Swiss type lodge main building.Very efficient service and wholesome food.Go there to recharge or have a small conference in idyllic setting.

Beautiful location with a great view of the ocean right on the Melkbosstrand beachfront. Friendly and helpful staff throughout. Table faced towards the ocean which made for a wonderful experience. Food is well presented and tasty. Wide selection of locally produced gins and beers, which I appreciate.

I visited a friend of mine in Melkbos and we visited The Heart for breakfast. Wow! This little place has a great selection of options on the menu, making it difficult to choose. Healthy options, savoury options, traditional, sweet, exotic, you name it!I can see why my friend said it is one of her favourite places she likes to visit.From the menu I tried the Salmon Breakfast Salad, and it was fantastic!! I just had to take pictures of the pretty food when it arrived and it was delicious as it was pretty! My fried had her usual Chorizo Rosti, which was equally fantastic. And just because it was a social weekend, we also shared a Nutella Croissant! It was mouth-wateringly delicious. Freshly baked, crisp and flaky.The food was excellent! Fast and efficient service with a smile.I would love to go back to sample the rest of the menu, there are a number of breakfast items that I would still like to try not even mentioning the platters, wraps, pies, fish and chips and burgers. And of course the Apple Crumble dessert that was highly recommended.The restaurant is compact, so booking is essential if you are a large group of people, and the management is dynamic and eager to assist.All round a great experience!

Used to be fantastic and we were regulars, but unfortunately they changed their head chef and one can tell bring her back from the golf club...also they used to have the best chips, and then they changed the supplier and now they are the worst chips. We have not been back since

Veggie Egg white Crepe delicious. Fast and very good service08/12/2019 I have gone today again. I just had one of the best burger I had in my entire life. It was smoky chipotle damn!! The patty was so juicy!!! If you ever go to this place give it a shot ! I was having guiness beer with it goes perfect together. The service was fast and very good. The view is to die for. Café on the beach..lovely seating outside and inside. Food menu scaled down due to Covid but it was still really tasty and value for money. Especially the sweet potato chips were a nice alternative to the usual side dishes. The service was friendly and great.. The view is lovely as it directly facing towards the sea.

Stopped here for breakfast on the way from Langebaan to Cape town. It was absolutely wonderful! The food was fantastic, the staff were friendly and attentive, everything was clean, & there was such a great vibe to the place! Love love love it! Will definitely be back.

Its a nice relaxed place with really good food, but we were there for lunch today and my husband wanted fish and chips and they had no fish? I mean really? A seaside restaurant in the Western Cape and they have no fish? Sorry, not good enough! They should at least put a board up outside saying that they have no fish so patrons can go elsewhere before coming in, being shown to their table and ordering drinks.

Loved it. Garrys breakfast and filter coffee is the best. Caramelised baby tomatoes are divine. The service was excellent. As was the view.

Great food, good beer! A nice spot facing the ocean with great views and a quaint feel. One thing which is strange and not uncommon lately is there is not music? Why not add to the ambience?

Great lil restaurant in The Hart of melkbos... ideal for a quick business breakfast away from the office or a lunch date with the girls.

Even when one cannot have a proper alcholic drink along the seaside, the Hart is great for a crisp cooler, a good view and friendly community...as is Melkbos ! We had a great time there this weekend...

The weather was pleasant this morning, and I enjoyed the breakfast special that I ordered. I had French toast with strawberries, cream and almonds. I would recommend it.

Due to level 4 lockdown, we are supporting The Hart by ordering online. They deliver and dont allow pick up. Small fee to deliver in Melkbos. Burgers are well presented and communication for delivery excellent. Staff very friendly and pleasant. Ordered regular cheese burger and comes with trimmings.

Has a lovely, relaxed seaside cottage vibe. Great for breakfast with friends and it has a nice view of the sea. Waitrons are attentive, but not overly so which is preferred. Can pay with Snapscan too.
