The restaurant definitely has a romantic ambiance and perfect for a date night. Theres even a lower level with wine cellar scenery to give it that glamor. The staff is wonderful, welcoming and full of life. One of our orders was pasta bathed in a parmigiano reggiano cheese wheel and it was spectacular. Not sure if it was the guy preparing it who bedazzled us with fine lyrics and cooking skills or the food itself was pleasant but either way, the experience was outstanding.We also ordered duck and expected it to be on the crusty side but it had more of a chewy texture. The dark red sauce it came with was good though. Presentation for the duck and chicken was relatively similar and the latter was unfortunately a bit on the medium-to-well side but after informing them, they immediately rectified it and it came back scrumptious, so make sure you highlight your preference.The menu pricing is in the lower to mid-range and for a restaurant of its calibre, its surprisingly affordable. Overall, Verdicchio is an excellent restaurant and I highly recommend.

Such a fantastic experience all round. Their menu is incredibly diverse and their food is amazing. The duck Picasso was so good and the service was great as well. Will definitely be back.

I wish I had a good story to tell as this was supposed to be a romantic evening that unfortunately turned into my worst nightmare in a restaurant.I had a risotto which wasnt cooked, my partner had an overdone fish. When this was reported, the floor manager apologised and offered desert. By this time I was happy with the outcome, until he brought a stale brownie. I dipped into brownie and it jumped onto my dress because it was as solid as a rock.Such a beautiful restaurant with poor management!

The food is ok but the wine selection is awesome and reasonably priced. Helpful staff, pity they dont actually know much about the wine they serving. Still, knowing that this whole place is in fact a amusement park for adults, the restaurant is not bad.

Amazing, amazing, amazing, I went there for a dinner and it was amazing. The service the drinks, the atmosphere was phenomenal. Highly recommend it. If you want a more private sitting reserve the bottom floor for a more public sotting the upstairs is perfect.If you would like to use the bathroom you would have to go down the elevator, through the downstairs sitting area.The food was delicious, beautifully decorated, the quantity of food offered was fair and filling. Def worth the price.Make a booking prior.

Usually I love Verdicchio. My birthday was horrifying. Food orders were wrong after waiting an hour for it to come, the calamari was so salty that the few people who got it struggled to eat it. The manager didnt apologise, he just blamed the kitchen, the waiter kept knocking everyone in the face with his serving tray. I even emailed to see what has happened to the once amazing restaurant explaining what we went through - 4 days later I still havent gotten a response. Ill definitely think twice about going again

Took my wife on a Wednesday night for her birthday. We were surprised to discover the lower floor seating area. If Id known about this before wed probably have gone long ago. Theres a real feel of Italy & romance while you dine in the Cellar. The waiters are excellent & the food devine. Definitely not cheap but for the odd occasion its worth spoiling yourself over. I had the lamb kleftico & snail starter. BTW, the snails were the larges Ive had in my life & they were delicious. There also a bar on both levels & a lift in case you dont do stairs.

Decor magnificent, service friendly. Food from set menu did not live up to expectations. Carpaccio was plated elegantly, and the calamari was tender, but nothing special. Stairs scary steep, but there is a lift.

The food was great, the soup starters were delicious, I would highly recommend them. My husband had the lamb shank as a main, it was very good and tender. I had the pork belly, it was a bit disappointing as it was dry.

I can sum it up in one word: AMAZING! From the Tuscan charms of its decor to the congenial and prompt staff, this is by far my favorite restaurant in South Africa. Unassuming from the outside, you could mistake it for the usual Montecasino fair and walk right past; dont. This unique eatery will surprise. Do yourself a favor and insist on a table in the cellar/basement - bare brick walls lined with aging wine bottles and metal chandeliers will complete the atmosphere. The food is well made and in generous portions. All this you will get for an average fair, which is pleasantly surprising because frankly, Id be ok paying more.

14 years we came there nether a problem but this time we were very very badly served. The manager wasn t concerned what a shame. Paying the big price for a Lamb crown we had in place oily lamb shops. The chiken esplata came first with a brokem flame glass the tast was chiken with petrol and rice and veges cold. Wouah...what shame

This is the perfect spot for celebrating special occasions. The upstairs seating area is light and energetic, with the downstairs cellar providing a cosy, nostalgic ambiance. The staff are true professionals and their pride shines through in the work they do. The menu cannot be faulted and the food is prepared by the best. Verdicchio is a great restaurant and the meal I ordered (the poulet breast) was divine. I would definitely recommend it but if its your first time dont order the Camembert for two.

We ordered the ribeye on the bone last night, worst steak Ive ever ordered. It was chewy, tasted like it had been boiled rather than grilled leaving the meat looking as pasty white as my British winter skin. Needed to be seasoned while cooking to at least try mask that boiled meat taste.

The most fantastic restaurant! Service was outstanding and food was incredible (we were also lucky enough to meet our Chef!). For starters we shared the garlic snails and halloumi, for mains I had the prawns and my partner had the rib eye! Will most definitely be back.

Fantastic food however service is pathetic! Seems like people of certain ethnic groups get 5star service while you wait wave numerous times to get attention of your waitron. It’s strange how people who came after us ate before us and even had there desert after us whilst we ordered our meals and deserts before them...and yet again all of them of a specific ethnic group!

Exquisite Buitenverwachting Meifort served with a truly delicious Veal a la Mario. Ribeye wasnt exciting, in fact, very dry for medium rare. Waiters should also decant wine at the table and not at the bar. Generally, great ambience and a good experience.

When coming to this restaurant I highly recommend sitting downstairs for the best atmosphere. There is also an elevator if you cannot walk down the stairs. The best things to have when coming here are: time and patience. The food, although very tasty, takes a while to get out. Service is to commended.

This place was weird. I felt the food was well cooked and spiced but didnt like the presentation and plating (for the price). Service was poor and food is overpriced. The ambience was terrible with adverts playing, restaurant music in the background and the old man playing his accordion all at the same time. Would rather go elsewhere
