Lemongrass fish, that’s something unique. It was completely different to what I expected. It has a nice taste, but need a bit of sauce to it. did order desserts, but this is something that all indian restaurants fail at in my opinion. I have not gone to any indian restaurant where I have enjoyed dessert to date.

Great! Loved it. This is traditional Indian, not Woolies Indian, but I certainly recommend dinner here.Loved the layout of, and variety in the menu. Loved everything we ordered. Absolutely loved the leftovers we took home and had for lunch the next day.Loved who the chef goes out of his way to turn savoury dishes into desert. The staff were friendly. Love the gluten free items l could order and enjoy. The only thing I didnt love was the very, very, uncharacteristically small portion of traditional Indian ice-cream I was sent home with. We took cold dessert to eat at home and I was super disappointed. So 1 out of 11 was not to be loved.4.5 out of 5 rating. 10 out of 10 will return. They have a generator so you can eat there when loadshedding is preventing you from cooking at home.

First of all they got my order wrong. I ordered butter chicken with naan and got rice instead. The chicken curry is 2/5 stars at best. I couldnt even stomach more than a few bites. I suppose its a good thing then that they were stingy with the portion. The aloo paratha is 0/5 stars. The flatbread was oily and slightly raw. The mashed potatoes were not spicy. And in fact there was hardly any potatoe. Worst Indian food Ive ever had. Stay away from this one and choose another restaurant.

Friends and I went for dinner, and decided on some Indian food for our evening out.Very quaint and authentic Indian spot with Pretty décor.  I’ve always wondered where it was situated, as I have never driven past Benmore Gardens. Now I know. They have a good selection of food to choose from, so there is a variety for any picky eaters. They brought us some “Papar” to nibble on with some Chutneys. A famous indian snack either fried or cooked made from sources such as peeled black gram flour, lentils, chickpeas, rice, tapioca, or potato.  We ordered a Veg starter Platter to share, with Tikka Paneer, Onion Bhaji, and 2 other items. I loved the taste and crunchiness of the Bhaji. My favourite. Service was pretty quick, and our food came in good timing as we were hungry. For mains, I was craving a mutton curry but couldn’t decide on which one, so I went with the traditional and ordered a Garlic & Chilli Naan, as I don’t really like rice with my curries. My friends ordered the Chicken Breyani, and the Lemongrass Fish, with naan. We all ordered medium in strength. Now, let me tell you this Mutton Curry kicked some serious butt!. It was really spicy but oh so tasty, the meat was tender and the gravy was just soo delicious. My naan also complimented it very well. The chicken breyani was also quite strong, but tasty even though i did expect something slightly different. The lemongrass fish, that’s something unique. It was completely different to what I expected. It has a nice taste, but need a bit of sauce to it.We did order desserts, but this is something that all indian restaurants fail at in my opinion. I have not gone to any indian restaurant where I have enjoyed dessert to date. I wanted Soji, and my friends had the Gulab and the Ras Malai. For me all 3 was a miss, although my friend enjoyed her Ras Malai. My soji lacked flavour and the texture was too solid.Would definitely come back for more starters and mains, decent food and good quality and service.#TheFoodMusketeer#TheFoodMusketeerEats#TheFoodMusketeerDrinks#TFMDelhiDarbar

My wife and I absolutely love this restaurant. The decor and ambiance are great, but its the food that is truly special. We have tried various dishes now and we both think it is the best Indian food weve ever had! The portions are good and the prices are reasonable - the only over-priced item is the wine by the glass (ridiculously so), but then their corkage is fair. The person who gave a bad review must have caught them on a rare bad day, because we have nothing but praise for this restaurant.

This used to be one of my favorite Indian restaurants when it was operating as Delhi Dharbar. They changed to a new name - New Delhi Dharbar and probably change of owners, and along with it change the ingredients in their curries. Unfortunately the recipe is just not the same. Why change a winning formula!

Great north and south Indian cuisine, place is always neat and they serve you a appetizer after you have been taken to your seat. Food is freshly prepared and great relaxing instrumental music plays in the background on your whole stay.Strongly recommend for family lunch and dinners, and also first dates will work perfectly here.

Just went there for a takeaway. I ordered lamb curry in the bone. Usually this is a smaller portion because it’s more expensive but believe me it was all bone. The chicken curry was tasteless. We ordered Samoosa’s. Nice hand shaped but so much bland filling that they disintegrate when eating.I’m a chef and am really not that fussy because I understand the trials and tribulations. Also anything better is cooking for myself at the end of a long week. If there was a no star rating I would have entered that. Poor beyond poor. And they have many happy customers. I don’t get it

Small little Indian place in Sandton. I was out for a take out. I walked in and was served immediately. Quickly shown the menu. I ordered the Veg Samosas starter. They were great and also large. Then I ordered the Butter chicken with 2 garlic naan on the side. The chicken was flavorful and came with rice. The naan was also great and went well with the chicken. They also gave me some authentic Indian dipping sauces. Overall a good experience and would visit here again. The menu is also interesting and you would like to try many dishes.

I would give only average rating. In my 6 weeks trip, mostly I have taken my food here. For dining in there, its okay kind. Manageable taste. But for the delivery orders, it is not so great. They take more time, missing some of the items you ordered for, etc. For veggie lovers, its not having a wide range of varieties. Given with no other option, this one is preferable.

Average Indian restuarant . - sometimes they take a chance & supply u Beef instead of Lamb - on the hope that the customer wont know . It happened to me on a Take Away order . Subsequently I have not bothered to ever visit the restuarant ever again . In the very end , the restuarant loses out big time , as the word of mouth prevails .

I ordered biryani from Delhi Dharbar on a delivery service. This dish is always accompanied with raita (yogurt dish). Unbelieveable that the kitchen staff can send out yogurt that is at room temperature, bubbling, smelly and most certainly unfit for consumption. I cant see that quality control actually exists. Will never order from them again.

One of the worst Indian restaurants Ive ever eaten in. My paneer makhani tasted off and the paneer was hard. I pointed this out to the manager who took the food away and brought me the bill (which included the dish).
