The grillhouse meat platter is superb. The service from the waiter and host was great.

Always a treat. First time going here since COVID. The standard is still top notch. The pepper crusted fillet is my go to with a pepper sauce. Paired with a nice glass of red, makes for the perfect date night. Make sure to leave space for one of their amazing deserts too. Service is friendly and fast. Tables are properly spaced for COVID and all other protocols observed.

Lovely Restaurant with great views, the food was absolutely divine and cooked to perfection. Heaters also kept us cosy as we were having dinner on a chilly evening. We were welcomed very well with a complimentary glass of champagne to celebrate our anniversary by an individual who seemed to be the manager. Only reason that Im not giving 5 stars is that our actual waiter was not very friendly or engaging in stark contrast to the manager who received us.

Had a meal from the set menu and it was disappointing. One of the people I was with was served a bread roll that was frozen. The custard from malva pudding was saturated in condensed milk and the sponge itself was burnt. The cocktails were watered down. Worst long Island ice-tea ever. Its fancy but the service left much to be desired too. We wont be returning to the Sandton branch

The Grillhouse in Sandton is a hidden gem, the restaurant has a good modern feel, good decor and very lively or atleast when I was there. They also have private rooms for private events or to get away from the crowds.The service is exceptional, friendly staff and very knowledgeable about the selection of meals and drinks.They have a good variety of meals, wine and beer including craft beer.Food quality is good with good portions.

On a recent trip to Johannesburg, a colleague and I set out to find the best ostrich steak in the city. We found it at The Grillhouse. This restaurant is a steakhouse at its best. Staff was friendly, prices were reasonable, and the food was excellent.

Great restaurant with great food and plenty of indoor and outdoor tables. From my photos youll see Monday is a great night to come. Not too busy, fast and friendly service with a large outdoor seating area if its warm or youre a smoker. Most nights more atmosphere. I love this place!

Amazing views and nice staff. Food was well done, tasty with good verity. The octopus starters was a good option as we share it with the mezza platter. The meat is not halal but they have some kosher options.

Oh my soul! Steak has never tasted this good and the view is simply spectacular! We took guests from the Isle of Man and Finland to taste real South African steak at its finest..and that’s exactly what they got!They literally closed their eyes and went “mmm”. Another comment was “South Africa has the best sunsets in the world”. We do 😃 and The Grillhouse Sandton provides one with the perfect venue to view them.I will be taking my family there soon.

Very good food and atmosphere.We ordered a table for 12.It was crowded a little bit, and the waitress had no access to some of the guests.Only one waitress took the orders from all the guests, and it was too slow.But they know how to treat the meat.Ive visited this restaurant several times already.

Was a recommendation. Booked an hour before arriving for lunch on a Sunday. Restaurant wasn’t busy. Classy decor and good service. Also has a private room.We were served with a fresh complimentary roll and butter. Never order calamari- it was the worse I ever had. Snail sauce was bland. Meat grilled platter was ok - not the best. Butternut soup was terrible. The best was the cheese and chilli sauces everything else was average and below average even the desserts.

The Grillhouse in Sandton seems a cut above The Grillhouse in Melrose Arch. The food is quite a lot better, and the restaurant is situated with a fantastic Western view.The prices are rather steep for the food youre receiving - for example, two kebab skewers with a single potato (only cut open) goes for about R165. I understand its a fine dining experience - but there arent the extra touches to give it that experience. The service is also very mediocre - admittedly, I was with a large group, and they may have struggled with forgetting orders.If you are looking for a quieter night out in Sandton, and dont mind paying a little extra, I do recommend The Grillhouse Sandton. Even if its just for a couple of drinks on the deck - the view will not disappoint.

Romantic dinner for two. We had a beautiful night view of Johannesburg. Ordered two fillet steaks, springbok carpaccio and desert. The service is good! The steak was done beautifully and the seasoning was spot on. The carpaccio was very fresh and tender. The creme brule was a little burnt though. Had a great dinner, very recommended.

Spectacular views over Sandton make up for quite average premium food. Steak was over-cooked and plate depressingly spartan, requiring additional sides and sauces to make a picture worth taking. Mac n cheese as a side (R59) is a nice option for something different.

Springbok as a starter and main. Carpaccio was good but the steak was so-so. Not sure if it was the choice of animal or the preparation. All in a good steakhouse.

One dope fact about this place, theyre sponsored by Hennessy (or have some sort of partnership); how could you hate that?? The place was absolutely beautiful, the ambiance was amazing and the service was top notch 👌🏾👌🏾(maybe the best service we had while in South Africa). Of the many meals ordered, I had the ostrich tenderloins, AMAAAAAZAZING!!! This was my first time trying ostrich, had no idea it was similar to the texture of steak or red meat. I ordered it medium well, which by error on my part wasnt done enough and left much pink inside. They cooked it a little more per my request and it came back better than ever!!! The chef personally brought it to me & was apologetic but I explained to him that was my fault as I had never tried this dish. I would definitely recommend this place.

Great environment and friendly staff. The menu is great, but would have preferred a few more vegetarian options. They had meat replacement options which were good, but not as many straight vegetarian dishes. Other than that, would definitely be making a turn at the restaurant again.

Id give it a solid 3 stars at best. Being from Texas, I know a thing or two about steaks. It was a good cut (a bit lean for my liking). But overly seasoned with pepper where the steak flavor felt a bit undermined.For a top notch restaurant, I was surprised with lack of presentation of the food (that onion looked sad) and no complementary bread..?Either way, the view is beautiful. Definitely a great hang out place!

Nice calamari. We had that as a starter. For our main we had the steak. Mine was perfectly done but my partners was rare instead of medium, however this issue was sorted out. Our waiter was very courteous however he made us feel a bit rushed. We ordered four pancake shooters. This is made up on three beverages. They had the ordasity to charge us a single for each shot. This is ridiculous. The waiter should have informed us of this before we ordered them.Usually my partner and I have our fair amount of shooters but due to me not feeling well we only had two each.

The day we went there I ordered their famous t bone for a good R 249, its just a piece of meat, no sides like chips. Steak was under seasoned and definitely not worth all that amount. The restaurant is chilled and has a great view but I will stick to Spurs,.

Steaks were good in average (my ostrich medallions were okay, my friends fillet was much better) but unfortunately the memory I have from this place is the bad service we got. The waiter couldnt be bothered to answer our questions properly and he kept a certain distance from the table which made it hard to even listen to what he was saying. We came to this place after being recommended by a local so we were expecting to have a good experience overall but thats not what happened and the food only doesnt make me want to come back.

Oh my gosh its absolutely beautiful. Convinient to find . That Piazza is everything. The food is a bit pricey oh but its well worth it. We chose the Beef Platter and the Chicken platter. The steak was one of the best i have ever had. My colleagues went crazy gor the chicken sausages and the chicken strips. The service was super good and attentive. The views of North Johannesburg and Sandton.

Its a very good restaurant with great service and even better food. Ive tried a few dishes there: mulles, pepper crusted ostrich, ostrich in Madagaskar sauce, billtong bucket, springbok carpaccio, seafood platter and malva pudding and everything was tasty. Really recommended if you are in Sandton.

The Grillhouse Sandton overall is an amazing experience. The location of the restaurant gives you a perfect view as you enjoy your meal. The presentation of the food is lovely and the prices are inexpensive compared to their competitor steakhouses located around the area.The only problem that ruined the night for me was the situation with my server. Overall, our server was not friendly or interactive. He never even told us his name. He didn’t speak much. So it was quite hard.What made it worse happened layered. We went to The Grillhouse Sandton to celebrate my husband’s birthday as he was turning 38. I had spoke to our server about bringing out something to celebrate him. He said ok after my husband finished eating. 15 mins after my husband had finished still there was nothing. There was no communication of what was going to happen and to make it more confusing the waiter came and gave us desert menus. I was so confused. Where was the special surprise.... so I found a higher up sever to help me. When our waiter finally came with a lit sparkler on a square slice of cake he just sat it on the table and walked away. There was no happy birthday, no here you are sir, congratulations, nothing. Not a word. Just say it on the table and walked away. I started laughing because my husband thought it was a desert and was trying to tel him he had brought it the wrong table. I had to tell my husband it was for him for his birthday. The biggest let down experience.Because we went to the restaurant to solely celebrate my husbands birthday and surprise him- the experience from the waiter truly ruined our evening.When it comes to the food I would give 3.5 to 4 stars but when it comes to the experience I give 1 star. That’s how bad the experience was from our waiter.

We arrived on time, 7pm. We were seated outside. Friday night is not a night to be there if you are hoping for a silent night. Its like a bar out the terrace. Friends and colleagues meeting up for a night out. So expect noises. Rather seat inside but also away from the private room which usually hosts a large group.Pros.1.We requested a heater and it was brought.2.The BREAD!!! AMAZINGGGG. I LOVED IT. It preps you just right for your meal. Soft with the best butter.. Ah.3.The waiters are on standby. The plates are cleared quickly. Service was relatively good.4.My sons beef burger was GOOD. It was a REAL Burger.And Huge! For an affordable price.5.THE VIEWS ahh.. Loved it.Cons:1.Our waiter was rather rushy rushy. We get you want to go but give recommendations. I mean how do they upsell??2. THE MEAT Nahhh. We ordered sirloin and rump and were under whelmed. We both requested medium to well done and it was EXTREMELY WELLDONE.3. The plating was as though I was going to a a fast food eatery. No plating etiquette whatsoever.. SmhThe veggies were dryyyy. The broccoli and cauli were just bland.4. So we wanted to host a BRIDAL SHOWER for my best friend and the manager was very accommodating and helpful with the preparations as well hes quite a nice guy. The place is amazing, they have the best view (I am a sucker for views). The food is to die for and the service is the best. If you looking for a place to host something for someone special I recommend THE GRILLHOUSE SANDTON honey. THE BEST!!

Set in the heart of Sandton, The Grillhouse is a beautiful restaurant! The pork ribs are excellent and the livers are delicious too. However, the fillet wasnt to standard and not as good as their Rosebank branch. But Id definitely go back soon.

One of the best fillet steaks I’ve had, extremely tender, well seasoned and flavoursome. Good service at the door with the manager checking everything was ok. Had a virgin pina colada which was also very good.Place was poppin even on a Wednesday night, didn’t have to wait for a lonely table of one though.Nice interior, and the restaurant sits in a small enclave of similar high end polished eateries in a flashy cluster of glass buildings.Table service was fine, could’ve been better, and the fries were mediocre, but the steak made up for all that, 300g was plenty, wish I had the 200g to try the attractive dessert menu.If you want a steak look no further

Most of the orders were either over done or under by quite a way. Calamari was burnt to a crisp. One of the orders was sent back to the kitchen. Waiters were great and atmosphere was good
