I live In Arcadia and I go As Far as Equestria to Buy Groceries ! Thats how Bad I appreciate this place , only for Groceries though, because its in Great Quantity and they have a Lot of deals too . But for other things, like Appliances & Fournitures the Prices are quiet High . So My little advice is to be prepared before you Go there!! Honestly 👌🏾a Nice place💓

Very helpful until you need after sales service. My generator is faulty, and they expect me to take it in to the store. I dont have the physical strength or means to actually pick it up and transport such a bulky object. The person on the customer care actually left my call hanging for 20 minutes because she wasnt prepared to assist. Shocking service - quick to take money, very slow to assist.

Were to begin, was recommended to me to go get all I need there, ons stop shop. I compare 75 inch TV price, see that hifi corp is cheaper ask them to match it, seeing Im going to kit out a new house from top to bottom with appliances, etc. Just told off, we dont price match. Spend 2 hours shopping, struggling to find sales staff or any staff, arrive at the tills, to be told I need a card. Trollies parked to the one side, I set off to get the card. 2 people there, one typing on a computer. Looks like processing applications, other one on the phone, not looking up or responding to me waving my hand. Typist looks up, and says I must wait for the one on the phone, after I managed to get her attention. I waited for her to acknowledge me, she told the person to hang on, asked me what I want. Being annoyed now by her rudeness. I told her I apperently need a card or membership of some sorts. She was very agitated by me not knowing about a makro card, I told her I just moved here from a small town, and she proceeded to point to me some papers laying on the next desk and told me to fill it in and continued her call. I asked the typist how long will it take. She just stared at me, then at the pack of papers infront of her and back to me, so as to say, you can see I need to finish all these first. I then asked, and was told to wait, it can take a, while. I proceeded to the till point were a couple of thousands of rands of carefully selected goods were piled up on Trollies I filled. And left. I went to a different store not affiliated with makro, got everything there surprisingly for slightly less, without hassles, cards, annoyed staff. Friendly staff made sure I got what I came for, they richly deserved their commission, and It felt good to drop 40k at that store. Makro did not and will never have the pleasure of my money when I feel like some retail therapy again.

Its ok. Makro would be lovely if they had trolleys that worked, they seem to be on their own mission, not the same as mine. The isles are full of staff loading up shelves who think they are doing you a favour moving. Fork lift trucks which operate with impunity and disregard for customers. Prices which do not reflect a wholesaler at all. In some cases they are more expensive than checkers which is right next door. Other than that they are 5 stars.

Good range and store well organised. But too many promoting personal in the store, no way to choose without being asked three times. And 45 minutes (!!!) queue at checkout because very few cashier desks open, unbearable!

Makro has gone to the dogs. I could not find what I have been looking 4. This is the 3rd Makro I went to to look for bras and bear mens underwear. Their quality used to be very good, now..... 😵

Their online collection site is not user-friendly at all, I wish I could have went to the shop and bought everything, it is even better to wait on the queue inside the shop than to buy online because you have to go at the back of the store (bulk shoppers) , there are no sign to show where to collect. It was a horrible experience and I will never buy online for collection, rather request delivery

Bought a pico barista coffee machine just under 2 months ago and full of problems brought it in today must wait 4 to 6 weeks to get it back plus a karcher high pressure wacher 2nd time for repairs

Currently a lot of maintenance is happening there, which means no aircon. Extremely hot inside. But bought a lot of groceries. Shelves are stacked and very busy. Good specials could be found there

I just want to give a big thanks to Thabiso at the TV department. I had an issue connecting my phone to the tv I bought by makro. He went out of his way assisting, even at the end we managed to figure out my phone had the issue and not the tv. He said I can phone anytime for assistance. Unfortunately I did not take names, but the guy at the printers and the one at the pool cleaners also was quick to assist me in a very friendly manner. Even though it was a very busy Sunday. Great work Makro Silver Lakes.

The lady who was helping me was like she was forced to come to work. Her service was pathetic and this is not how you give customer service. I greeted her and she did not respond. When I paid she just took both cards without a word with a serious face and she showed me where to sign. She did not even ask me if I needed carry bag or plastic irrespective of how small was my parcel. My brother ended up asking me what is wrong with the lady.

Was at makro silverlakes on 09july. there are absolutely no social distancing at paypoints. why do not open every second paypoint. there were about 10 paypoints open right next to each other. everybody paying and the staff are standing on one big pile never even a metre apart.

Good products with good pricing and helpful staff makes for a good shopping experience. Spent 3 hours in the shop today getting stuff for our new shop and must say it was good.

Good selection of products. Staff is usually very friendly and helpful. Regular specials.After sales service is also good. Never had an issue exchanging products.Bought a new vacuum cleaner and they say if we are not happy with it we can just bring it back within 14 days of purchase.Same with a Bosch drilling machine I bought a few years ago. The chuck did not spin true and they exchanged it without hesitation.

False advertising on washing maschine. DEFY series 3 in the picture but actual product series 2. Said the product was in store which is untrue. Altough staff did try to explain it remains disappointing. Had more than 4 staff members standing around you which is intimidating. But would probably be labled as a Karen.🤣

They have sale on nice things. Adequate parking! Helpful staff, cashier lines move quickly and most prices are reasonable.

Their mask policy is utterly ridiculous. I had on a transparent face shield that covered both my nose and my mouth but they still refused to let me in. Ive others enter other stores with those exact same face shields. Silver Lakes is being unreasonable and thinks that wind swerves somehow. Not happy.

Shop well organized. Most items more expensive than other stores but I did get some well priced stuff. Service is good.

Makro has a lot of things has bikes swimming stuff phones laptops electronics school stuff a lot of stuff so I do recommend going there plus the sanitizer and then make sure you wearing a mask and they also give you a yellow card so you need to have a yellow card to be allowed in there thats pretty much what I recommend it though

I came to buy a phone and I was told its good but it is not. it is super slow. I asked the lady who works on that isle and she said the difference between a Huawei Y5 and Y5 lite is just space. the phone is super slow and diving back to PTA to return it is a problem for me.i AM SUPER DISAPPOINTED.

Used to be my best store but now I dont know how I feel, bought a TV in December, early this month reported that the TV is not working, took the TV to the shop, told to take it back to the house and a technician will come and attend, till this day I havent heared anything, Im just waiting...

Almost every device I bought for my pc coming from here is outdated or does not work at all. Unfortunately the orders come from head office and they do not listen to advice from the workers on the floor that know what customers want. Terrible terrible selection of devices, the person ordering this had no idea of what is being used at the moment and is sitting lazily behind the desk ordering blindly without testing.

It was okay not too crowded. They could move staff in the paint section as customers had to wait some time for assistance. But the person who assisted was very friendly and helpful

Good Makro nice and clean and big, the trolleys are a bit old not great though but otherwise good lots of variety but you have to have a makro card to buy anything which is very annoying.

Love their R100 deals as well as their More4less deals. Pity the shelves were mostly stocked with boxed (sealed) items and not the advertised deals. Not sure if they make use of the rain-check system.

The line outside was very long but moved very fast. Friendly staff in the store, ready to assist, enough cashiers by the till, so no standing in line for long... store is organized, which makes it easy for customers to locate what they need. Oh and I have to say the prises are super reasonable... Thumbs Up!!!

Theres not enough space to move around while one is doing their shopping. The staff is always in the way packing products on the shelves. But the cashiers are fast and efficient

Poor customer service. Firstly, had my fridge delivered and the drivers didn’t unpack the delivery. When I unpacked it myself, I discovered it has a dent on the door. I called Makro to arrange for exchange but they never returned my calls or responded to my emails. It’s been over a week, I’m stilling waiting, my food is going bad. The people dont seem interested or care about the situation at all. Very poor.

More staff staff than merchandise, still a painful shopping experience, unremarkably cheaper than elsewhere, I wouldve avoided if I didnt have to penny pinch.

Please be vigilant in the parking lot! Theres a group of men pretending to know you then they try and grab your phone etc... Dont start a fight! theres a small waiting nearby with more men inside. The situation will only get worse if you start a fight. All I did was shove the guy away and continued walking towards the entrance.
