The most tender rump steak I have had in a long time. Cooked to perfection. Very reasonably priced.

Really impressed with my meal here!The service is excellent and the food was delicious (and it came very quickly). Can highly recommend the squid heads as a starter, and all the meat was incredibly tender and perfectly cooked. Prices were also good!

We decided to go to Turn ‘n Tender Illovo on Monday, 28 December for dinner and a nice steak and as it is very conveniently situated close to where we live. This was our third “attempt” at this establishment. Our dining experience turned out to be a very disappointing one. We ordered the “ signature rump steak” with extra fat. When the food arrived the waiter only brought one of the meals (not knowing what steak was brought over to the table as we ordered one basted and one dry peppered) and also unsure as to what other side was included for the second steak still to make its arrival to our table. After waiting for another few minutes the second meal arrived. The steaks weren’t close to the 300g that we ordered and there was no fat rind as per the signature steak on the menu. After our mains we waited a good 15 minutes to get a waiter’s attention as no one had come to clear the table or offer drinks or desserts. We ordered a Bar One baked cheesecake each for dessert and was extremely disappointed at what we received for R80 a piece. The portion size was measly. We are regular diners and can assure you that this is a complete rip-off compared to what one can get at, say, Just Teddy in Hyde Park for half the price. Unfortunately, TnT will not be seeing us anytime soon.

Tonight we experienced spoilt customers complaining because they had to wait too long for their food whilst waiters ran up & down relentlessly trying to attend to patrons. Admittedly they were very busy & it was hard to cope with the demand. I watched these waiters & staff sweating ..... stressed & stretched beyond measure. Running up & down with masks on serving demanding clientele. Has it occurred to anyone how stressful it is working for hours on end with a mask on. Spare a thought for these humans who are trying to earn a salary during these extraordinary & extremely difficult times. No one deserves to be treated badly especially when they are serving you & trying their best.By the way the food was amazing & worth the wait. My heart breaks for staff who are trying their best & it’s never good enough. God Bless you all.

The first and original Turn n Tender, and by far the best. Food is always amazing, service great and nice atmosphere.

I wanted to leave a review because this is probably one of the best restaurants Ive been to. I only come to this Turn n Tender and reason being is the exceptionally delicious food and amazingly friendly staff. Today we were greeted by faith who gave us quick and friendly service, she was such a delight to deal with. We then met Jabulani the manager who was all smiles and made our dining experience even better, at the end of our meal he gave us milk tart shots that tasted heavenly. Thank you guys for such great service!

I hated it! The restaurant was empty, and we were told the kitchen would be closing soon. So we had to order quickly. And my Fillet was burnt and the chips were overly crispy.. which I didnt ask for. Its never been a great restaurant for me. The service isnt great either!

Visited here for our wedding anniversary. Floor managers attentive without being intrusive. Our waiter was good, but as things became a little more busy, we did revert to using one of the floor managers to assist.We both has the focaccio with garlic and herbs. Delish - light and fresh. Then we both had snails - so well cooked. None of that rubber posing as snails.For mains, my hubby had the 300g sirloin with side salad. His sauce of choice to accompany the sirloin was herb sauce, which he found very full of mint - but he enjoyed it.I had the calamari with rice and lemon butter sauce. The calamari was beautifully cooked, but I found the lemon butter sauce a little too buttery and not lemony enough - so asked for extra lemon.Overall a lovely evening that left both of us feeling full to capacity. Busy, but nice ambiance.

Avoid. Rude to customers. Rushed from work. Fetched and carried others only for the arrogant manager to turn us away as his special had ended a few minutes earlier. He has enough customers. Wont be back. Avoid.

Exceptionally busy, so service was slow, and one steak was a little overdone. They immediately replaced it with a perfect steak. Our favourite steakhouse. No other restaurant that can compare.

The food was terrible. Their deep fried onion rings were burnt & for a pregnant woman I was sick after eating them. The ribs were hard and were boney more than meat on them. My 8 yr old only ate the rice and the rest we gave to our dogs.

1. Slow service.2. Staff socializing within the Restaurant, staff break maybe?3. Only 1 person walking around and attending to guests.4. Zero sense of urgency.5. Having 90% of staff on a lunch break is not a good idea.Due to the service I decided to just order a drink.Kind RegardsKen

Tjooo! I have always been a huge fan of Turn n tender. But today, I was showed flames and so was my steak!! So overdone, I couldnt even swallow it. Burnt. And the service was so poor, I couldnt even return it. Waiter didnt even bother checking on us.

Good fresh food

Had heard good things about turn n tender and seen some good reviews but was quite disappointed. Garlic focaccia starter was dry and seemed to be some kind of pre-baked bread. Red wines not tempered (i.e. warm - room temperature on a 30 degree summer day). My point rump in port wine reduction was quite tasty but my girlfriend’s Argentinian fillet special was dry and bland. Service quite good though. Friendly waiters and manager who removed the fillet from the bill.

We have been going to T&T Illovo for many years now. The service is consistently friendly and of a high standard and the food has never disappointed.Melt in your mouth fillet steaks, blue cheese salads where they are more than generous with the cheese and a point rump in a class of its own.And when they offer their famous lunch specials, you cannot beat them for value on the meal.Can get a bit noisy inside, but not to the point where conversation is impacted (at least not at lunch time - dinner might be another story).A firm favourite.

Had dinner with 2 mates...really outstanding meals for everyone. Steak was exactly rare as I ordered. Surprisingly well priced too and the atmosphere was good as the restaurant was full. Highly recommend!

I love this T n T. They really take good care of you during lunch - putting bib to make sure you dont mess up your suit (That was a selling point to me). I always take my family here irrespective that I have to pass to T n T on the way from home. Keep it up.

Good steaks and a trendy atmosphere. They have backup power during load shedding. Ground level parking and entrance make it very accessible for handicapped patrons. Gets busy so booking is recommended.

Good food, good service, the waiters all just seemed to really enjoy what they were doing.

I used to love Turn n Tender. This particular branch however ruined it for all the branches around SA. The last 3x times I was there with guests from Dubai I was very disappointed. They kept putting basting on the steaks without asking and they overcooked the meat. The last time I was there, we complained about the basting and they took our steaks back, washed them off, grilled them and put the steaks back on our plates. We were appalled! I complained to the server again and she didnt do anything and even tried to avoid us. It was such an embarrassment and a let down :(((

One of the best TnT franchises in the country. Preparation of the food and quality of ingredients seems to tip the other franchises I have been to around the country.TnT is a stable for me country wide but Illovo has to be one of the best

Dined at the Illovo branch today. Awesome service with a great vibe. Waiter who attended to us was pleasant. Our order was on point. The steak was prepared to perfection. All round great experience. Would definitely recommend.

The suggested wines were SO GOOD, omw. Both my girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed the wines (a merlot and a sweet rosé). The atmosphere was pleasant and the waiters were very amicable. The food was really, really good, it met our expectations. And it was reasonably priced. The quality was what was paid for and it was fantastic. I would highly recommend Turn n Tender Illovo.

We booked in advanced and asked for a table by the window but was given a table at the entrance which was a walkway for the waiters... We where bumped the whole time and eventually moved outside. The food was not to bad but I feel not worth the pricing. The chicken schnitzel was really good but the veg was bland. The steak that I had, had good flavour but was not medium rare as I ordered.

Great steak, different cuts, huge restaurant, can get noisy when full, reasonable prices, good service.
