Had a nice sun-set view, spacious seating. Service was fantastic this time. Wed been there a few months ago, and service was slow, and there were some mix-ups. But this time really made up for it. The manager was very friendly, the waitress was very competent. There was an issue with our one order item, and the service team handled it flawlessly. Sincere apology and the meal was replaced.Food was absolutely fantastic!Juicy, flavourful.And the calamari and onion rings were perfect examples of Spur crispy standard. Definitely worth a visit again.

One can easily judge the quality of a restaurant by the quality of its coffee and potato chips/fries. The chips made in this kitchen are terrible. Don’t bother dining here.

Appalling service to say the least!!!! The waiter (Walsh) was rushing to take orders without actually taking time to listen to what we actually wanted, and ended up assuming we wanted certain sides which we did not order as we werent given a chance to do so. He acted like he was doing us a favor. We had to call him out on seperate occasions when he started walking off before we finished telling him what we wanted to order....each time we asked for an additional item from the menu it was the same thing of him just rushing before we were done with our request. The manager apologized on his behalf but that didnt stop him from giving us sub standard service even after the apology from his manager. Unpleasant experience and I wont be going back there. I would rather go further out to try another Spur.

By way of background, I love spur. However, the last few times I bought food from here, there is just something missing. The ribs are soft and moist but just lack seasoning from the inside. The same with my double Cheddarmelt Burger. The patties were a perfect medium, but no salt at all from within. Completely bland and no smokey char in the background that you are used to with Spur. Same with the ribs.On a positive, the steaks still taste good, and a great find are the kiddies chicken Nuggets, best I have tasted anywhere and a nice size too. The smileys are a hit with the kids always too.I really hope Spur sorts out that something missing soon.

Family restaurant that works for my grandkids each time. Expensive but quality food. The jug cooler is divine and value for money - strawberry cooler very refreshing. Excellent starters! No one beats spur steak.

Nice Halaal spur, it is conveniently located, and with very friendly and very efficient staff.Service and the food is great, never have any issues when the we have been there..Kids enjoy the play areas.We really enjoy going for Sunday, breakfast or brunch.

The worst nachos of any of the spur franchises I have visited. Generally something Spur does well, but not here. Almost no salsa. Service is slow but friendly. Decent play area for the kids. Rest of the food is ok.

Terrible, terrible. Very disappointed. My bf an I were really wishing for Spurs finger licking good sticky ribs. I ordered a salad on the side. My salad was not fresh at all, my lettuce had brown bits. Our ribs were disgusting. The ribs tasted as if the meat had been boilt. The meat had no flavor, the basting was not sweet an sticky. We called the manager. He informed us that they no longer use the same basting. They use the same one for the steak. You cannot advertise original spur ribs if they are not made with the original basting. A month ago we ate at spur at the airport. Another terrible experience. My bf an I both got burgers. The patty was horrible, no flavor. Tasted like pets mince. The buns were dry. My salad was not fresh. Spur has really dropped their standards, very disappointing. I grew up with The spur being a big part of our life. Every month end my mom took us there

Great place. Has really good views from some of the windows, a play area for children, and not too crowded. Prices are not bad. Great service and friendly staff, who can handle situations well and are good with the kids. Will definitely go back. Just note it is halaal so there is no pork or alcohol.

Hi. Please sort out your telephone lines as it is currently not working. It appears that both uber and mr d do not deliver to crowthorne, kyalami which is 12minutes and 7.5km away from you. Please resolve this..as there are not many halaal places

Used to go here every week. Not a fan anymore. Its halaal now so they have no alcohol and limited menu. Fair enough if its against your religion to eat or drink certain things but at least give us our own choice to. We are also moving on from Spur now...

Service was good! Our Waitron Mary was excellent BUT the food was pathetic.. I ordered Chicken Schnitzel and the chicken was over done and thready...as in the pic.Wife ordered Chicken burger but similar experience...The waitron reported to the manager and manager came and apologized and resolved the issue! Will come back again to see the change.

I would like to say both the food and service and quality was superb. I hope that being newly Halaal the quality does not drop over time. I also came I. When it was not as busy so perhaps that also adds to a drop in quality generally at most Spurs . It something that annoys me as after an experience like this I will expect the same the next time as well I hope

New owners, still a great place for the kids to play. The downside is that they don’t have a liquor license anymore and no more pork ribs which is one of my favorites. If you are Muslim you will love it.

Kids had so much fun at the Spur Singing Stars evening. They loved it so much that they did not want to leave. This is their new favourite Spur 😁 We hope to attend another Singing Stars evening soon.

After returning to Spur for the first time since we were kids, we were heavily disappointed. (this is a review for Spur in general)The food tastes like unhealthy fast food, but you pay the same price as you would at other craft burger places. My stomach was even upset the next day.The next time our friends with kids want to go grab something to eat well find another child-friendly place and might be willing to cover their bill as well! Spur really feels like a rip-off where you only pay for the name and not the food.EDIT: I updated my rating based on the entire experience. The service was excellent, the restaurant is clean and the kids area is run very well. Its just the food that is really not good value-for-money and I think that is part of the Spur brand, which I think you really cant change being part of the franchise.To be more specific, the onion rings are nothing like what we grew up with at Spur, the burger patty was dry (not medium as requested). On top of that, the nachos felt like oily Doritos chips (go to Salsa Mexican who serve amazing nachos at the same price). If the food was about 20% cheaper this quality could be justified, but if Im paying the same price as at Rocomamas and Salsa Mexican, thats the quality I expect.

Great service. And understanding staff. We had a baby with us and needed something for the baby...they did not have mash unfortunately but very quickly brought out a baked potato and butter which we could mash and give the baby. Party of 6 so appreciated attention and everything arriving as asked for. Mandla was our waiter and very pleasant and friendly. Keep it up guys!

This place comes highly recommended! I was here celebrating my nieces birthday. Had a good time overall and the food is good. The staff is warm and welcoming. You even have an indoor playground for kids to play in! 😍

The T bone steak was ordered as medium and on opening the box at home, found an almost alive piece of meat, dripping blood, and no T bone in sight. Absolutely disgusting, no wonder the restaurant was empty.

Shawnee Spur is located where there is sufficient safe parking The waiters are really friendly and make one feel right at home. The food is of reasonable quality as Spurs go but that quality is not always consistent. The chicken schnitzel for example has been both excellent and hard and over cooked at times. It would be nice if they kept this menu item to a specific quality and thickness.We still enjoy going there and will be going back.Toilets are clean and well looked after and the furniture is new. It has a child’s play gym area as well as a gaming area for the older kids.

A Spur with an exceptional view of the landscape. Food is on par. Although staff are very friendly, finding a waiter should not be a task of the patron. Waiters should know how often to check up on patrons and always pay attention to them. We literally had to wave down the nearest waiter to go get our waiter for service.

Terrible. The chips they served with our food were old and to top it off when the waiter was asked to pack the dogy bag, he didnt pack the entire meal left on the plate. 1st time experience at this Spur and Im never going back.

I losing faith in Spur. The waffle is nice looking...but hard as cardboard..can hardly cut it.

Staff are always friendly and welcoming. I love the breakfast special and kiddie play-area (if you have children). The view of Paulshof and Sandton is great with all the leafy foliage. Spur is spur regardless of which one you go to. Always a treat and I will forever love those crispy onion rings! I wish I could order them separately.

Best spur I have ever had the pleasure of dining at.Somehow, the crumbled mushrooms that ever other spur struggles with - piping hot in the inside and so cold on the outside, these guys gave restored my faith in. Very nice place for a outing for a meal and a decent craft beer, but the owners need put in greater safe measures on the stair case saftey rails in the childrens play area to prevent chidren from getting there knee cap stuck between the bars
