Really such a lovely place, albeit tricky to locate in the building. The views are amazing!! Try get there during the day / around sunset, although jhb skyline at night with all the lights is just as beautiful.A wide spread menu with brilliant pairings of flavours. Well prepared with good sized portions. Some delicious options for vegetarians as well.Might need another staff member to attend to tables as the place got busier.Definitely will be back! A must for Asian fusion foodies :)
I 100% loved my experience at the New Momos in Rosebank Mall!Naturally, finding somewhere that still has a vibe but is intimate enough to not catch Covid has become so important and Momos delivered on that! The waitress was such a sweetheart, my food was absolutely divine, the best that Ive had from any of the branches! The flavors were perfectly balanced, the presentation was spot on and they got every request of mine correct which was such a refreshing change!I really hope that the quality of this branch remains just as good, if it does, its definitely on my list of favorites!
Food was lovely, but the waitress got our order wrong and when we wanted to order dessert, there was none left.. Not great. But I would visit again, even if it was only for the view
Lovely food and great vibe and experience. Reserve a table ahead to not be disappointed.
As an Asian, I was not impressed at first by just looking at the menu. Cuz most of the dishes listed are classified as snacks in the Asian culture. BUT! after giving it some thoughts and finally decided on the dishes to order, the food was... surprisingly good! Tasty and delicious! The presentation was good too! Then the service was outstanding! If I need to make a suggestion, some of the green teas served there was kinda wrong. The filter in the tea pot restricted the leaves from floating in the pot limiting the flavor to spread in the water. We usually put leaves directly in the tea pot and only filter the spout. Dont know if that would help.
I donβt know if it was the secret stairway or the incredible viewsβ¦ But the vibe at Momo Kuro was amazing! As if that wasnβt enough, the food was incredible! Asian fusion is one of my favorites and they certainly nailed it with their tapas style dishes. Incredibly reasonably priced for what you get. We even over ordered not expecting the portions to be so large and ended up having it for brunch the next day.If youβre a fan of dumplings, bao, and Korean short ribsβ¦ This is a place to go!
Love the BOB (Bring own Bottle) concept, wings are FANTASTIC, springs rolls are good. Great atmosphere paired with awesome company..
The food was great, the service just above average hence the 4 star rating. I havent been there for dinner but its great vibes for a lunch with the option to bring your own booze with 0 corkage fee
Very nice place with a good ambience and view. The food is really good and the portions appropriate to the price. They dont serve alcohol but do allow you to bring your own. They also accommodate you and give you glasses to drink in and ice. Its tricky getting there, but the security guards around are very helpful and nice.
I love the Momo restaurants and Kuro is one of my favorites. Thereβs a lot of dim sum on the menu and loads of tapas, which I prefer instead the poke bowls. The firecracker chicken and firecracker prawns are some of my favorite dishes. This place is always busy so service can be a bit slow. I also found that seats and tables tend to be too close to each other, so if you can get a booth, opt for that. I went recently and noticed the menu has changed a little since it opened, and those savory veg pancakes donβt appear to come with dipping sauces anymore - tasted different too.
The food was great, the vibe was great, the staff was great. Its really affordable as well. We also saw Una Rams there. 10/10 would recommend.
The food is wonderful here, from baoβs to gaoβs and even more I could go back so many times and try different things. We had the prawn har gao, fiery green beens, spicy Kalbi beef, deep sea bao, vegetable spring rolls and the crispy tofu. At all the Momoβs they cater for vegetarian and all their meat is halal too. If you get there before sunset their is a stunning view, and donβt forget itβs bring your own alcohol as they are not licensed.
The food is delicious and portions are sizable. Staff are very friendly, and the view is great. Loved the yuzu gingerbeer!
Well we read a lot of mixed reviews before going and Iβm glad we chose to go based on the good ones. The food is impeccable presented, incredibly delicious and ridiculously well priced we shared 7 items off of and everyone was amazing. DimSum for me the favourite of the lot. The lamb is insanely hot. Proceed with caution!!The setting is stunning, decor what youβd expect and the fact thereβs no corkage makes it a cool experience in that you can bring your own favourites and the bill seems that much cheaper.Service was average but not enough to demote that 5 star. Awesome spot. Must visit. Will definitely be back.
The dinner we had last night was absolutely incredible. This is the second Momo restaurant weve visited and again, my mind was blown! The food is flavourful and served so beautifully. The staff are very friendly and the service was really good.No liquor license so take your own alcohol. The breathtaking view with the sunset and the guaranteed good food youll have - youre in for a treat.
Lovely restaurant with friendly and helpful staff, great for lovers of Asian cuisine.Sushi was Devine π
Loved the Asian blended menu, classy mod industrial setting. Youre also able to bring your own alcohol for free. Stunning, affordable spotπ
Delicious Asian food. Lots of options for non-meat eaters. Small dishes, perfect for trying lots of different options and sharing.
The hidden tucked away location of the restaurant adds to the appeal of the place. The food is amazing! The ingredients and flavors are amazing and also authentic. It always is, we have been a few times and it never disappoints. The staff are slightly lack luster, but efficient enough. We will always go back though.
Love this hidden gem. Like actually hidden. It is in the Art Mile on Keyes building up the stairs like you are going to Mesh and then up a further staircase beyond that.My friends and I ordered almost every item on the menu from starters to dessert and smiled at each approaching plate.I cant wait to go again.
Theyve got a wide variety of starters and meals to suit anyone. The food was incredible: everything was fresh and delicious. And to top it off the view from the restaurant is spectacular, which is not easily found in Joburg
Amazing food, view and service. No alcohol on menu.... But you can bring your own. π
The place was beautiful, but the service was really bad ,aswell as the food ,there was literally no waiter at the table all night ,I certainly would not visit this place again
You fund yourself heading through a maze and you the secret stairs to summit at the restaurant with amazing views and delicious Asian food. Service is impeccable. The venue is a perfect summer or special occasions and you can take your own booze along
Super tasty food, excellent value for money and a great social dining experience. Perfect for those looking for something a little different.
As usual, very good! Everyone at the table was happy with the food (and drinks, I love that they have such a big collection of teas!). We had ribs (amazing apparently), gyozas, poke, baos etc. I recommend!
The views are amazing and food is an experience. The service is not the best, waiters not as attentive. Made a booking for two over the phone and was still moved around twice because they got their scheduling mixed up. On the plus side, you can bring your own alcohol.
Great spot, nice vibe. Will definitely be back
Lovely place! Beautiful views. Amazing Asian food. You can bring along your own alcoholic beverage at no corkage fee
You can never go wrong with any of the Momo restaurants! As always, the food is spectacular, corkage is free, and at this edition, you have a gorgeous view of the Joburg skyline. A perfect spot for lunch or dinner.
A new addition to the Momo family that specialises in dim sum with a bit of a modern twist. The Prawn Won Ton and Sichuan Lamb were definitely stand out dishes. You canβt go wrong with their baos, though I found them to be a bit chewy this time round. I love traditional Cheung Fun, but I wasnβt too impressed with their version but itβs always good to give things a try. The actual restaurant is stunning, with amazing views and funky decor. Itβs a bit hard to get too as you have to climb up some dodgy looking steps with no signage.
Momo Kuroβs has a really nice view of Parktown South and Parkhurst. There are also plenty of Art Galleries nearby if you have an appreciation for art. The menu is extremely exotic consisting mostly of Asian Cousine, but also Tapas and PokΓ©. The food is really enjoyable and goes well with their neat espresso based drinks or one of their many speciality teas. The only down side to Momo Kuro was that I ordered the Maui PokΓ© and there were no cashews in my PokΓ© bowl. Having only realised near the end of my meal I only mentioned it to the waiter after my meal. She just told me that she will notify the chef and did not compensate me for it in any way.
My favorite restaurant in Joburg!
Ive been wanting to go here for months. I finally learned that you need to reserve a table at least 2 weeks in advance but it is ABSOLUTELY worth it. This is the best of the Momo restaurants Ive tried. The food is amazing, the staff are lovely, the prices are great and the view is absolutely unbeatable! An absolute must-try!
My happy place when Im not at my other happy place πFood was happiness on the buds of taste. They also serve a really stunning local ice tea. Also they dont serve alcohol but the food is intoxicating enough π
Totally worth the walk up 2 flights of stairs! Amazing food. Hard to believe one can serve such complex and exciting flavours in such short time. Great service. Great food. Great view
The menu, the view, the whole setting.. Awesome. Highly recommended.
I like there tapas menu. They have the same view as Marble (next door). Great atmosphere (better then Marble next door). Their service could be a bit smoother though. But overall experience is great!
Food was average and the service was absolutely the worst ever. Lack of atmosphere and service. Not recommended
My second time there but had the best chill session in a while. Id advise turning up the aircon next time.
Always a great evening at Momo Kuro! As always, the food was great and the view is simply spectacular
Great good and vegan options
Service was excellent and food was fantastic, had an amazing evening.
Fantastic views of JHB, divine food, and great service. A favourite for a romantic dinner!
Its really a lovely place with amazing food. They just dont sell alcohol, so you have to bring your own...which is even better.
The food was great, but service a bit slow. Slow to clean up around our table. Someone vomited at the table next to us (yes I know right???) And it took about 45 mins of it sting there on the floor before it was cleaned. So not too great on cleanliness.
Great ambience and beautiful views. Enjoyed the food which was ready in no time at all.
The place is nice and chilled but the food is not as good. Its not so bad but its not the best
A delicious treat, superb service, a delightful all rounder!!
Great food as always
Superb, excellent food. A little slow on service, but this is understandable given the popularity and quality of food.
Great atmosphere, excellent and interesting variety of choices.Friendly and quick service.Highly recommended fir lovers of Asian food and something different.
The tappas was really good. Lovely sunset. No corkage charge. Bonus! Convivial atmosphere.
Beautiful restaurant, but the food is sadly below average.
Gorgeous location with a beautiful sunset view.Good food and good vibe
Food is constantly delicious at all the branches Ive been to, this is no exception. Really enjoyed the Firecracker Prawn and Turkish Delight Lemonade. Service was friendly but a bit slow, had to keep flagging the waitress down and ask where our food was.View is beautiful but be prepared for a couple of stairs to get to the 3rd floor.... and the bathroom is on the 1st floor.
Great food. Great venue. Good value for money!
Slow service. Continuously getting up to find a waiter to ask for drinks is not good. The service really has to serve all the people at the table their food at the same time. Its not acceptable to serve the first person and then 15 minutes later the next person because its awkward and uncomfortable. Thats simply poor service. Its also not advisable to carry out and empty your kitchens dustbins through the restaurant where people are actually sitting and eating. Youre ruining any class that your restaurant might have. Looking out at the splendid view is really ruined by kitchen staff carrying a dustbin through the restaurant.Nice view, cool vibe, reasonable prices, interesting menu.
Delicious food and great service and location
What an amazing place. Hard to find, but lovely waiters nice bar. Food here is amazing!! They however dont always have everything on the menu available. No liquor licence, which is a bit of a shame, but you can take your own wine.
No clear signage but adds to the experience. Iβll definitely be back to try the deep-fried bun withΒ sweet milk dip very soon. On-trend yet unpretentious place to tuck into food that will leave your tummy and your wallet feeling satisfied. Surprised that its not outrageously popular π€
All the Momos dont disappoint in terms of food. Taste, flavour and authenticity of the menu is great. The restaurant itself has some stunning views especially during sunset. The service I think could be more attentive. The drinks menu could be expanded as well to have a better offering but the main menu has variety better than some of their other branches. Must visit.
An experienced worth having again.
Consistently good food and vibe. I do think service can be improved with waiters being abit more present and visible. We ordered a range of tapas and a few baos. The crispy calamari is a winner, I have noticed though that the calamari was dry and lacked something on ordering it the last two times. Maybe it needs to be presented better too?Other than that, Iβll be back (again).
Excellent food and excellent service
Good vegan options, and a beautiful view. I wouldnt give it a 5, though, because I think there are too many fried and deep fried options on the menu, which diminishes the number of healthier options. My sister tried a fried pancake tapa, but it was extremely greasy...π
Very noisy. Not for old folks. Too many steps to climb. Good food and variety. Economical because you allowed to take your own drink without any additional conditions or charges.
Food is amazing and comes so quickly. The setting is lovely with a fantastic view! Place can get quite noisy when full so just keep that in mind.
Amazing food ππ½ππ½
Amazing venue, location and the food was amazing! No cover charge when you bring your own drinks. The service was great! Definitely coming back for moreππΎππΎππΎπ
Friendly and professional service
Excellent food but actual non-existent service. Every time someone came to our table it was someone new so I still dont know who our waiter was. We had to attempt to call someone to place orders and find out where our food and drinks were, and we also ended up paying at the counter because it didnt look like anyone was going to actually bring us a card machine. I was really taken a back because its a fairly small restaurant with a lot of staff. Its a pity, the restaurant is beautiful and as I mentioned the food is excellent, but the Momos wont be seeing us again.
Fantastic food, definitely worth a visit. Momo offers a tappas style Asian menu. Their baos are always fresh and delicious, with the twice cooked ribs being a personal favourite of mine. This branch always has friendly and quick service, but does get quite busy. I would definitely recommend eating here.
Great meals . downside : No booze.
Great food, great atmosphere
All food tastes sweet. We ordered 2 tapas and the beef bao. Two items tasted as if they had been mixed with ketchup instead of properly dressed.
The food was very good. Same standard as at all Momos I have been to.A bit of a maze to find the restaurant in the building.Remember to bring your own wine...
Great setting and a fun vibe. The food is great. Remember to bring your own wine.
Another delicious asian eating experience. The expansive views over the green Jhb Northern suburbs from the roof balcony adds to the ambiance.
First time here. Views were amazing. Noise levels in the restaurant are ear ringing. Did was worth it... most had to be explained but all choices were tasty!
