We stayed at the manor house in the Pinotage suite. It was a lovely experience. The staff was so friendly and went out of their way to keep us happy. The room exceeded expectations and the food (both the restaurant dinner and the guesthouse breakfast) was delightful. They offer vegan and vegetarian options and there is a lot to do on the farm and surrounds. The wine is also excellent. You really cant lose.

We really enjoyed spending the night, Martha was a great host and I was very pleased with all the amenities (pool, in-room massage).Thank for the great night and the park run (5k) through the estate can only be recommended before getting a delicious breakfast 👌🏽

4 nights at this lovely Manor House. Stunning views each morning from the Pinotage Room. Bed comfortable. Breakfast was divine. Night porter was always helpful. We loved staying here.

When you think of Franschhoek, you think of this small town surrounded by vineyards and beautiful mountains. Add to that picture, staying in a cozy cottage during winter and you will have Rickety Bridge Manor House. The manor house has an old cape dutch architecture and decor to match, whereas each room has a more modern cozy cottage feel to it. During our stay we received breakfast which consisted out of a cold buffet and a hot a la carte menu, and we also went for a wine tasting (which I reviewed separately) which was very good. They are just a short drive from the town centre so its close to everything Franschhoek has to offer, and with the wine tasting and a restaurant on the farm you will never have a dull moment while staying here. They would also be a great option to stay in summer as the entire valley comes alive during this time and at the manor house there is also a pool to cool off in. During our stay we slept in the Shiraz room which was beautiful, but I recommend you book one of the other rooms if you are taller than 1.75m (5,7 feet) as the beams in this room specifically are a bit low, whereas the other rooms dont have the same issue. We had such a great time and just want to thank Martha and the rest of the staff for such a memorable experience. If you are looking for great accommodation in Franschhoek, the Rickety Bridge Manor House should definitely be on your short list.

This manor was an experience of note. When arriving we were greeted by incredible Franschhoek vistas, as well as a friendly porter whom was happy to help and explain the ins and outs of our accommodation. We stayed in the main room that boasts all the amenities we could hope for (luxurious bath, shower, air-conditioning, en suite bathroom, TV with DStv, windows with a view, and even robes). In the morning we were welcomed to a complimentary breakfast where we could choose from two set menus. This was going the extra mile as we were the only two guests staying in the manor, yet they didnt hold back on anything. The staff are delightful and do a great job at making one feel at ease.If I had to moan about something the only point that comes to mind is that the en suite bathroom can be awkward for couples. The bathroom walls do not go all the way up to the loft roof and so you and your partner need to be prepared to share the sounds and smells that go with having an almost open plan bathroom in your bedroom.
