Peaceful and tranquil surroundings with a pool and braai. Large outdoor areas with very colourful flowers. I recommend that you stay as long as possible.

From the warmest welcome by Kim, to the lush garden and a very neat room. My fiance and I enjoyed the breakfast outside in the mornings to the afternoon walks overlooking the farms. Without saying we will happily be back in the summer months.

I was taken there in my childhood in the 1950s when the Podlachuks were living there. I remember a wonderful old house and lovely grounds. Somewhat sad to see it is no longer a family home.

Beautiful setting, but if the owners/trustees do not make a huge capital investment in the property, five years down the line it will be completely run down. Begin with installing a housekeeping service, a reception desk will also help. The garden is lovely but all the statues need to be repositioned and the concrete tables and chairs painted and made to be straight. Around the pool new cushions of a uniform colour should be introduced ....need i say more?

This twin room with mountain view for R1900 is the most overpriced, creepy, dark room without any view and windows. Its called cottage but it is not. We were quite upset. The charm of the estate, and franschhoek in general, is somewhat spoilt when you feel like youre staying in a maids quarters. We were surrounded by houses of the farm stuff, which wouldnt be a problem if it would be looking same as other cottages. There was no garden unlike around other cottages. But only other old houses without repairs. Other cottages have garden and access to the pool. But from our house we had to walk through the bush to get to the pool. Feels like this room was made for stuff, not for guests. Oh yes one thing we saw when we came out from the door - hanging clothes on the rope. Its not a place for weekend gateway. Its disappointment and a rathole.Imagine dark damp room with no windows, barking dogs, very old kitchenette room with the window to the white wall. Waste of money and time.
