After two wedding postponements to finally having our dream wedding on the 04th of September 2021. The hospitality was nothing short of amazing which had my wedding party raving about how spectacular the staff were to us the entire weekend. Compliments to the chef for the delicious meals provided and catering over and above for those who ordered second portions.In spite of a pandemic, many individuals have lost their sense of humanity and your staff has given that back to us all in the form of a smile or going the extra mile in simply trying to locate the bride’s father (my dad). There are not enough words for me to say thank you and how truly grateful my husband and I are. In fact, I made a pact with him that from every year onwards we will be visiting Le Franschhoek Hotel to celebrate our anniversary even when we are grey and wrinkled. So sad to hardly see other guests at 13h00 on a Sunday. The place is just simply stunning, very friendly staff, great great food. Beautiful drive just out of Franschhoek. Peaceful, stunning gardens. Will be back!

My wife And I arrived at Le Franschhoek a day after our wedding day (16th August), to enjoy our Honeymoon. Upon arrival, we noticed that there were a lot of small construction vehicles. Moments after checking in, we heard very loud drilling and hammering. We asked the staff if this was going to continue for our 5 days stay and they then told us yes. This would have been good to know weeks before we checked in.We wanted to spend most of our time relaxing after months of stressful wedding planning, only to have the next 5 days filled with construction noises.I usually never complain about stuff like this, but after paying over R17,500 (in advance) just to leave with a mild headache was completely unacceptable. A far warning would have been great.The Jacuzzi (as advertised) was never warm over our 5 days stay even upon requesting the temperature to be turned up. On our last day, it was flooded with the hose still on.There was also massive confusion regarding our all-inclusive breakfast. Some days we paid for our coffee, where on other days we didnt. Again, please dont advertise incorrectly as this throws out your budget.The one aspect that gave me some sort of satisfaction is how friendly the staff were. Other than that, it was a pretty dismal stay.

The ambience and scenery are amazing. The staff are very friendly and so accommodating. The hotel is old but currently being refurbished. The rooms that have been redone are stunning and very cosy.

Lovely location. Great attentive staff. Great winter specials. But..... the low season should be used to do a bit of TLC. Our accommodation had peeling paint, missing lightbulbs....a bit more attention to detail is needed. Still, I would go back as the positives are more than the negatives.

My boyfriend surprised me with a stay at this place this weekend and it was absolutely Marvelous! Nature at its best with beautiful mountains.

You lost one star because you have no aircon in your bar or lounge area. It was super hot on the day we were there. Second star goes to offering a high tea but not offering Hotel graded tea. I expected TWG tea but got 5 Roses instead. I would suggest you offering a menu of what you prepared or at least explain what’s on offer.

Great place for a stay and some relaxation. The massages are pretty great. Unfortunately the food wasnt as great as the first time we went so not very consistent. Other than that, its remote, its out of the way with an exquisite scenery for pics.

Amazingly we received good and warm welcome and good acknowledgement until our Sunday morning breakfast was a total disaster to say the least. my understanding and probing was since Saturday afternoon when wedding guests arrived they took priority over everyone else at the hotel facilities and the restaurant staff were surprised on Sunday morning that wedding guests will join everyone else for breakfast. the restaurant facility was way under staff and organized and the empty promises for the morning was as natural as can be . my serving came in drips and drabs 1 hour and 45 minutes later. the quality of the food was atrocious where this experience changed my day. this is a shocking and sad experience under the banner of Dream Vacation.

This hotel comes across as luxurious on Booking.com and its website but its really just cheaply furnished, old and tired. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We did however book a room with a balcony and got a room with no balcony. They gave us a bottle of wine but one cannot sit outside and enjoy the view on a bottle of wine. The coffee machine was broken so no cappuccinos etc for breakfast on one of their busiest weekends. They also ran out of waffles at 6pm on a Saturday night. I didnt see anyone eating a waffle and there werent that many people in the dining area. I would rather support a smaller establishment next time as they probably put more effort into getting things right especially during these tough times.

Room tired and basic.It wasnt the room what I booked for. In room dinning- of shockingly poor quality. Numerous issues with service and cleaning. Staff absentminded and disinterested. Hotel needs a modernization. On the flipside we did like its location, backdrop and gardens. Spa treatments were okay. Only stay here you if youre okay with the above .

This is my happy place! Awesome staff, great location whether rain or shine, the surrounding mountains translates the experience into a little Switzerland.The linen, towels etc are all of proper hotel quality, the self catering units are well equipped, even with a la vazza espresso machine and plenty of coffee pods.Franschoek has plenty of activity options, the winetram is recommended!

Well maintained and kept property. France away from France in South Africa. Relaxing atmosphere with great servicecsnd value for money. Scenic environment with lovely mountain, vineyard and natural views. Tge rose gardens are about the best Ive seen at a hotel. Definitely worth a visit to experience tranquility and destress in an environment you forget about the corporate world. Less than five minutes drive into town! You wont want to leave the property to go anywhere once you feel the more than 5 star service from the Manager to the waiter, to the porter and the gardener who is happy to tell u all about the garden! Try it, u wont regret!

World class conference space and hotel.We hosted our inaugural Global Summit and the staff (Chris, Alex, and Portia) helped us turn the space into something magical. Plenary and breakout rooms were perfect and attention was paid to every little detail of the space. Thank you team for making our weekend one for the history books.

The hotel had a picturesque mountain backdrop & surrounding vineyards. Lovely well kept & maintained gardens. Our room was in the vineyard block with views to the gardens. The room itself was nothing special & badly lit as are so many hotel rooms. The other reason not to give 4* was the food quality like other hotels on this tour not memorable & bland & under lit restaurant, perhaps they did not want us to see what we were eating, slow service as staff were thin on the ground. Could have been better on our 2 night stay if the room & food had mirrored the the building & the scenery.

Really beautiful location and superb views from this hotel. Day visits allowed as well as spa and restaurant. Known for wedding venues and other events this spot has some of the best views of the Franschhoek Valley and the Winelands. Some great wines on the menu and some good food. Brilliant for a day out and to sit in one of the country servatories taking in the sights and a glass or two of vino. Great pool, amazing views and rooms brilliant.

Stunning secluded setting! Excellent hotel building and service. Rooms lovely spacious and clean. Please, though, create 100% smoke-free outdoor areas too. I so much would have enjoyed the outside eating tables and pool with my colleagues if there were NO smokers close by to spoil our eating and swimming experiences.

The staff are friendly and interactive. I personally had a very good experience staying at this hotel and making use of the spa. It makes you want to come back every chance you get. The food at the restaurants are to die for, very tasty and good portions. Waking up to the view of the mountains every morning is a very big bonus. And going to bed with a delicately made up room and chocolate placed precisely on your pillow for you was a big treat. Not one bad encounter with staff was had. The grass areas and garden are very nice to take an afternoon stroll in. All of the restaurants have their own characteristics which make them unique to themselves. A very warm welcome was made to us upon arrival, as we were greeted with a glass of champagne. Staying at Le Franschoek Hotel and Spa makes you feel like one of the rich and famous. Could easily go back every weekend if we had the money. The spa was also very relaxing. Having a facial and massage with calming music on the background. A wide variety of options are available at the spa. A wide variety of options are also available on the menus of the restaurants. Overall, a very good experience, no complaints at all.

Wonderful view of table mountain by day and night from the rooftop bar you can see the bay and big wheel(15 min walk) . Watch for drinks offer on certain days buy one get one free etc. Order a taxi here and note the name & where the rank is. This is the best way to get places. As usual the red bus is a must and brilliant. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. Food is of a high standard and variety. Wifi works well and is included. Parking is inside the hotel and by lift to rooms. Your room card works the lift so security is ok.

We were at the hotel out of season. The hotel is lovely...but the service not so much. Reception was superb. It was the waiting staff. More training is necessary.... breakfast was delish.

Enjoyed my business visit here so much I cannot wait to return with the family for a weekend stay. Such a lovely setting in the rolling foothills of the Franschhoek mountains. The room where comfortable and well looked after and the service was superb.

We stayed at the hotel from 16 Feb 2019 untill this morning. We found room 49 (suite) excellent and the service that was rendered by the Housekeeping staff very, very good. From the manager to his staff were friendly and always willing to help.Breakfast was good, but staff needs to be trained properly.Overall experience: 5/5

Spectacular venue for Mothers Day high tea. We arrived at the designated time, but the tables werent ready, staff was still rushing around to get everything arranged.Snacks were amazing. Unfortunately the staff are not geared to high turn around and fast service, so the restock of the buffet tables was slow, and on 2 occasions we received 5 of the 6 drinks we ordered. Food and venue gets 5stars, but the staff and service was seriously lacking.

We stayed at this hotel for the Bastille day weekend. This hotel is amazing, in the most beautiful setting. Our experience with the hotel, staff, accommodation and food was fantastic. Not much in house eating options if one arrives late . Be sure to eat if arriving late. Friendly staff and very accommodating to the needs of the client. Would highly recommend.

My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary. Great choice. It’s fitting for a romantic getaway or for family vacations. The setting is magical, the facilities are supreme and the staff are really amazing. I can’t say enough about the breakfast, they provided top notch food and service everyday. I didn’t try their restaurant for dinner however, so I can’t help there unfortunately. We did try the spa which was excellent for massages and pampering. I would highly recommend this this hotel during your stay in Franschhoek.

My partner and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary over Valentine’s Day. What a beautiful location, but extremely disappointed with how we were treated. I guess because we a much younger couple then the other guests that we were not treated with the same respect. We were one of the first couples to arrive for valentines dinner but kept receiving our food last over the older couples. We ordered the most expensive bottle of Chardonnay on the menu only to have someone serve us that can’t even open a bottle of wine, we had to open it for her. As far as I know this is a four star hotel. Over breakfast not one person greeted us, nobody assisted with giving us cutlery, waiters walked past us numerous times not clearing our plates. On our arrival yesterday, the lady working at the travel desk was very forward asking me personal questions about what I do and where I am from as if we can not afford to be here. My partner and I travel a lot and totally disgusted with this treatment. Other then that we have the most amazing massage at the spa and I would highly recommend the spa!! The girls were lovely. Such a pitty about the rest of our stay.

This is a luxurious beautiful hotel. I spent a lovely afternoon having a high tea with my son and daughter it the hotel. Highly recommend and the staff clearly love their work place.

Good hotel an easy 3 km from the town. Beautiful views of the mountain. If you book a garden suite, try to avoid 61 and 55 - they are close to the pool and restaurant and can be a little noisy. I love staying at this hotel for a Frranschoek visit. I’d recommend it.

You feel a sense of relaxation as soon as you arrive here. The hotel is set away from the main activity of the town (which is a good thing) in a gorgeous landscaped site amongst the imposing yet majestic mountainous backdrop. The rooms are tastefully featured and food options are above average. It could do with a little more ambience in the common areas as it does feel a bit sterile (only my observation).

We were a party of five people who popped in unexpectedly at the hotel for tea and scones after a day spent in Franschhoek. What lovely, friendly service we got from the receptionist to the waitron. With the stunning setting and outstanding calibre of staff, this hotel is highly recommended.

The room was disappointing. Not clean either. Sink was blocked, hairdryer was poor and bathroom old fashioned and tired with shower in bath. Was hounded by staff to pay outstanding spa account despite having paid the bill. Only redeeming qualirt is the beautiful setting. Just not value for the rate one pays.

There are a few issues I would like to raise:Bathroom door handle was loose and kept coming off (this was reported to reception the next morning)Tap at basin was loose as well (was reported as well) and the distance from tap to basin was really short.Both nights were sleepless due to a generator of sorts humming throughout the night (this was reported as well), so even though everything was top notch, the sleepless nights were a real disappointment. Left the hotel feeling more exhausted than when I arrived.The glass panel positioned on the bath tub was loose as well, also asked them inspect that.Furthermore, the bathroom in room 38 is a lawsuit waiting to happen. The step into the bath is very high and even though my husband and I are over 1.7m we had difficulty stepping in and out, they really need to consider installing the strong handrail to assist into and out of bath tub seeing that it is an all in one.We frequent many hotels/resorts and we really think that management should spend a night or 2 in the accommodation themselves to ascertain what is missing and what could be better.Lastly we would like to add that the loft accommodation provided for children is seriously unsafe with that rather steep staircase, if our child was younger, there is no way we would leave him upstairs overnight.

I recently stayed in room 39. The decor was dated and it could use a renovation in a few years. The television reception in my room was attrocious but the staff was friendly and the grounds beautiful. Recommended

Recently we were guests in Villa 62 between 8th and 14th March 2020.You have a beautiful hotel in amazing surroundings in the most picturesque wine growing area in the world, we know because we have been to them all.However it is how the staff serve and treat their guests that will keep people coming back.You continue to maintain your high standards and that is why we shall also be back again.We would like to mention the stars during our stay:Before we arrived Vivencia had arranged everything according to our specific booking requirements. She is a gem!Samuel and Suni welcomed us, checked us in and Moses carried our bags from our car to the upstairs bedrooms in Villa 62 with a smile.The villa was as usual beautifully clean and presented, so we should like to thank the housekeeping team including Iris who handled our laundry needs.Throughout the week they took care of any housekeeping needs we requested.We also want to thank Andries who kept our balconies, where weve spent lots of time, swept and tidy.It was great to see Brittaney again and to find that she was now in charge of the restaurant team. Her team were a credit to her and we enjoyed our breakfasts very much.Simba at the bar was always friendly and on the ball with refills!Sven was ever present to make sure all the guests were enjoying themselves and being properly looked after and is a lovely guy to talk to.Thank you to all.

The hotel room was awesome. Very spacious and a good bed. However the restaurant was a shame, the staff said we should make reservations for dinner but once we got there the place was empt, the menu cards had gone missing and a lot of dishes were not available. Not something I expected from a high standard hotel. The pool is nice and big, its a little chilly but great for a cooling off dive.

Loved, loved, loved the lunch we had there. Great quality and beautiful views while we enjoyed our meal. Beatiful place, so peaceful.
