This family-owned wine farm is our favorite place to stock-up on wine no matter what time of year we visit. The wine is delicious and a great value...and it seems to get better every year! The atmosphere is friendly and laid-back. As the last wine farm on the road from town, its off-the-beaten path, non-tourist feel is a welcome relief from the crowds. Wine tasting at this farm is a unique experience at an authentic family-owned farm.

Great place if you like authentic wine and people. The tasting is as simple as it should be without all the unnecessary fanfare of the other wineries we tried in the area. All wines we great, the people lovely and the prices good.

Lovely vineyard and cosy tasting room. Such a lovely experience with Liza who made us feel welcome. Wine tastings are by appointment, but we were able to pop in and ask for a tasting session without a booking. Beautiful surroundings and excellent wine. Highly recommend the Ghost Gum flagship white wine. We will definitely be back.

Warm welcome and wonderful wine at a small family run vineyard. Quality to price ratio for the wine is exceptional. If we can’t come back we’ll be ordering cases online.

Cottage no 1 was in a poor state and the upkeep of the cottage is shocking. Towels were very old and stained. Cutlery wasn’t enough. Literally 2 knives/forks/spoons which means you’ll be washing the whole time. Shower looks like it wasn’t scrubbed in months and had mould on the tiles and roof. Braai wasn’t cleaned and is falling apart. Carpets are worn out. WiFi reception was poor and not enough to maintain a connection. Swimming pool was in a good condition and the setting is beautiful next to the mountain. It seems like the owner believes this justifies the price? It’s however an overpriced place with very little value for money. If you stay in Franschoek, rather look for Airbnb as I’m sure this would be a better option.

We did a tasting with Joy, and it was a perfect experience. The wines are excellent and well-priced, and Joy is really friendly and helpful. Easy European delivery options meant we were able to order several cases efficiently.

Our favourite place in Franschhoek by far! Such a wonderful family run winery. The wine is excellent and the welcome and informative tasting with Joy and Liza is second to none.Last time we were there we had the pleasure of meeting Craig the winemaker and he was able to provide excellent advice on what wines were best to drink now and what would age well for the years to come.Stonybrook is in our opinion the best kept secret in Franschhoek!

Joy is a most gracious host in this cozy little tasting room tucked back in the Franschhoek hills. The splendor of huge protea bushes lining the drive is only surpassed by the incredible Reserve Syrah. Do not miss your opportunity to come sip, savor and purchase some of the finest wine in Franschhoek and the whole of the Cape Winelands.
