Beautiful day spent here, lovely cars on display, and even the drive to the museum was stunning! Went with a friend who is also a car enthusiast so we really had a great time, took my 14 year old sister and she enjoyed herself too. This is really a place for anyone. Oh, and the food was great too!

The Franschhoek Motor Museum is a must visit for all petrol heads, car enthusiasts and lovers of all things nice. The beauty of these well kept and maintained pieces of vehicle history is something awesome to behold. The staff are very friendly and professional as you would come to know of museums that are well managed. Its located in such a beautiful area of the Franschhoek region. The drive in to the museum is so stunning and parking is well placed near the entrance. There is a restaurant and curio store inside with beautiful. Its always nice to visit and enjoy these classic and modern cars over the years.

If you appreciate perfection, this place will appeal. If you are a petrolhead on top of this, is a must. And roughly a quarter of the cars/motorbikes are on display in the four halls at any time. Which means that multiple visits are needed to see the entire exquisite collection.Exceptional value, courteous and knowledgeable staff. Also a small restaurant and wine/gifts are on sale.

Had the opportunity to go and view the Franschhoek Motor Museum. I really did not expect to see such an amazing collection of motor vehicles, staring as far back as 1903. Conditions of vehicles is emacculate, well looked after and all in working condition. On your next visit to Franschhoek make sure to visit this museum. It is one of a kind. Truly amazing and will love to see what else is on show as this is only half of the collection.

Always a treat! The cars are in remarkable condition, and theres always something rare or unusual on display. Only 80 out of the 200+ cars in the collection are ever on display, so the ones you wanted to see may not always be there... best to check the current display on the website before going. While that may be a bit of a disappointment, the number of vehicles allows you to see the museum in about an hour so youll have plenty of time to spend at wine farms or in Franschhoek itself.

The Motor Museum was a great experience, with booking slots at hour intervals, there is sufficient time to walk through the individual museum halls with small groups in each. All the staff were friendly and helpful throughout the time we were there. Each hall had pristine condition motor vehicles, bikes, bicycles, engines, models and memorabilia. A real show for enthusiasts to see some rare classics! There are staff with sanitizers at each entrance, as well as staff that scan you and ensure you are wearing a mask at the main entrances. The weather was lovely today so our group got some quality photos and drone shots in the pathway between the halls. We did not stay for coffee, though the lounge looked extremely welcoming and spacious for a few small groups. There are wine houses with cafes and markets nearby, so its a good option to add to the days programme.Great experience overall.

Absolutely stunning. Make no mistake, the tiny little entrance fee is not even a drop in the pond for the running costs of this facility. No expense is spared to keep this collection immaculate, and not just the cars, everything is perfect. You can see this is an absolute labour of love. I wish there were more collectors who share their passions with the rest of the world like this. Will definitely go again as there is apparently a collection of over 300 cars with only about 100 on display at a time.

We were talking for many years that we wanted to visit the Franshhoek motor meuseum, and so we finally did it, as we passed by (spur of the moment type of thing) due to covid, we had to book tickets online (found that out while we waited by the gate...) After I purchased tickets I wanted to know if we may go through so long to have a coffee and something to eat as we didnt have lunch yet. I was told that we have to go to the wine farm.. ok fair enough.. went there, once we got to the gate, security told me they are full, but at least called to find out. We were checked in. Once we entered the wine tasting center, the lady greeted us friendly, and after we said that we would like to have a coffee and some lunch, she made a comment saying that the meuseum can help us with something sweet, also that the restaurant is full and we can wait in the wine tasting area upstairs.. already both my dad and I started feeling unwelcome. I explained to the lady that we booked tickets for the car meuseum however security had referred us to the wine farm to eat something as we could not go inside. We went upstairs, sat on the couches, two seconds later another waitress came telling us that the couches are reserved. I said we are just having a quick coffee and then we will be on our way. We sat by a small glass table, the waiters (three individuals)didnt even bother to remove wine tasting glasses, we got coldish cappuccinos and no menu to at least offer something to eat. We left with a bitter taste of this supposed to be respectable wine farm where you would expect to receive some service better than what you will receive at a back street takeaway shop. We were very disappointed. We waited in the parking lot for about 45 minutes for our ticket slot. The cars were great and interesting, beautiful and immaculate. Good to view. Our disappointment came again after our walk, at the cafe. At least the coffee and muffin was at a giveaway price of R30. But the people seemed unfriendly, no personality, no music. It was so drab - horrible. I will not visit again. Please make sure to have lunch somewhere else before you visit!!

Awesome wine farm. Fantastic views. Amazing car museum. A must do for any car fanatic. Amazing once in a lifetime cars to see here. The owners collection of cars is around 220 cars with 80 on show at any time in the museum. Unfortunately no guarantee as to what cars you will see when you but it will be great regardless. The owner is the second richest man in SA and is very clearly a motoring enthusiast. He has used his riches to buy some super rare and amazing vehicles and offers for the public to come and enjoy viewing them. Great place to go and enjoy the afternoon

Petrolheads dream! Make sure you check the list of cars on display before visiting to ensure you arent disappointed. The museum hosts over 300 cars but only 80 are on display at a time. If you manage to time your visit on a car club meet up day, you may get more than you pay for as guests cars can be as enthralling as the display cars. Situated on a wine estate, you can have your share of wine tasting as well. A must-see destination.
