Overall, Franschhoek is a stunningly beautiful town. Clean, buzzing with activities and extremely welcoming. Definitely a place worth visiting for a day trip or a weekend away. The Huguenot Memorial Monument is a sight to see. A ticket from the museum will give you access to the museum, the perfume museum and the monument. A must see when visiting Franschhoek.
Nice in Summer weather like today. Outdoor with plenty plealnty of space for different activities. Has another open space (park) across. Accessible too with beautiful mountain views
Beautiful....gardens are well kept. While we stools outside as entrance still closed to public we googled and read all about the statue and all the symbolic representations around it. Very interesting part of history !!
Beautifull and secure. My mother was laid to rest there at the graveyard. One of the most secure graveyards ive ever visited.
A must stop, beautiful surroundings and mountains. Franshoek is a must stop, stunning scenery.
Beautifully renovated. Very insightful.
For the love of chocolate and the country side 😍 and lets not forget the restaurants 🥰🥰🥰
Franschoek has a calmness about it that will make you feel refreshed and rejuvenated when you leave...😁😘❤💞🙏💯
Lovely informational museum and perfume museum, my friend and I visited the gardens before the closing time and arrived back at the gate to exit at 16h45 on Monday afternoon 22nd March the holiday to celebrate human rights day but the gates were locked and we could not exit the museum or gardens through the gates because the gates were locked and the staff did not check whether everyone that entered had exited before licking the gates. My friend and I who are in our 60s had to climb over the wall to exit the museum.
A place to marvel at. Beautiful setting
A monument to remember the history of the French Hugenotes next to the museum.
Always so pristine.
Sadly closed on. Sunday 😔but if u looking for nice outdoor free picnic spot just off to right.. Great park with wide open space just enuf trees to have a shady midday picnic😁
Couldnt enter because of Covid-19 restrictions
The gardens are so beautiful!
A memory for the older ones. But a tranquil scene and place
Spent some time with history
Really well-maintained landscaping and scenery at the monument. An extremely beautiful sight to definitely visit when in Franschoek!
Well maintained and in good shape. Only thing is, the info plague outside the gates has been removed. Most pelagic by vagrants.
Place was close, no entrance, you can really leave gates open, otherwise people will jump over wall to visit...
Beautiful place.Peaceful and quiet.
Cannot access the memorial without access fee
Lovely place to visit, however, I think the fee to enter is a bit high, R80. Please reduce the cost to a reasonable amount for South Africans.
I was there, on my first visit to Franschoek. We couldnt get close. Looked wonderful., but felt out of touch. But the monument amd the building is rather impressive.
In my town always pass it every day on the way home always worth a look
A good sight view place for everyone local or outside people, beautiful mountains and also a pass
It was lovely as a local, to be enjoying our tourist attraction and historical monuments. Our tour guide was also very insightful.
Not open for some reason.... wanted to take photos here, but gate was locked.🥺🥺🥺
Its just so beautiful.
Beautiful area in the Western Cape
Nice place
Nice piece of history
Beautiful Monument with a stunning mountain view
Beautiful monument
History, beautiful monument for taking wedding photos
It was closed due to covid but the gardens were still kept in great condition and it is clean.
Love my home town
So much history ❤
Beautiful place
Not open on Sundays
Opening hours posted 9am. Showed up 10am, locked. Wednesday. Not a holiday. Disappointed.
Living in History through nature
Great place to explore & have a picnic. The benches under the monument are covered so there is shade, & the lawns are huge so kids love stretching their legs. While you are there, pop into the museums (though it might get be best to skip the perfume museum if you have small or energetic kids, or a sensitive nose.
Classic beauty
Quient surroundings
My home town stay all the years in the little village food and wine meca of western cape
Would have been cool if the gardiner didnt sit under the monument and leave his tools leaning on the wall. I could maybe have got a couple of usable photos. Not great.
Nice, Serene, well kept green area.
Beautifully preserved. Peaceful place to reflect and appreciate such beauty of nature and the gardens. Worth a visit.
Full of symbols memorial
Franschoek in France. Bastille festival in July
Beautiful place and very hot weather
Magnificent monument. Lovely grounds to picnic on
Ive been there twice. First time was a few weeks ago on a boiling hot day and there was no air conditioning. Today I returned and alas there was a/c. Highly recommended for history lovers and those who like all things Franschhoek. Very informative. Some facilities could do with improvement.
A nice monument at the end of the road in dedication to those who founded the area.We didnt see the value in the entrance fee though.
The gates were locked for the couple of days that we visited Franschoek so we were never able to actually get into the main area and take a close look. Also the information sign that was on the outside wall isnt there any more so you cant actually read anything in person. I ended up just reading the wikipedia article on the town. Essentially there isnt a whole lot to see.
Beer tasting and lo ely burgers at the bovine
Supper please !!!🌞🌺🌹
