Absolutely incredible. Of all the vineyards in Franschhoek, we liked this one the best. The family members were the hosts for the tasting, and the bottles were easily the tastiest and most affordable of any vineyard in Franschhoek. Its an unassuming building from the outside (used to be a horse stable), but when you go in, the views are amazing. They also have various animals on the property to see. We spent 2 hours here while on the wine tram tour and highly recommend it.

Almost didnt want to post this review, because when too many people discover this gem I am worried it will lose its magic.If you go to only one wine farm in Franschhoek, go to this one. Francois and Elise and their team were welcoming, friendly, unhurried, so very passionate and totally unpretentious.It was a busy Saturday around 1ish when I got there to taste some wines. I tasted most if not all and without exception, for me they were excellent. Good value for money as well.And you know there is a special something when you are sitting in the shade of the big oak trees after which the farm is named and the winemaker owner is pointing out the very vineyard from which the grapes came to make the wine you are drinking. Wow, cant wait to visit again. Off to get a bottle of their 2020 Chardonnay out of the fridge right now. Cheers 🥂

Fantastic place, great wine. The friendliest people!

On the wine tram this would be a definite stop. Small, cozy and not driven by making money. It was more value for money and personally I thought the wine was better then the big wine cellars. We were hosted wonderfully by the owners that made the experience much more enjoyable. Look out for the ostriches. Would definitely visit again.

Very good experience! Cozy atmosphere, very friendly host taking time to talk and explain to you whatever u wanna know, delicious cheese fruite platter even with extra cracker if u need more, and cute puppies as special extra.

Such a friendly family with some truly spectacular wines! It doesnt get better than an afternoon spent under Eikehofs oaks chatting with Francois, Elize and the other guests.

We had a wonderful time which was also very intimate. The garden was beautiful and there was even a nest of young owls. The owners did us a special service with the foodplatter creating a perfect good time. The wine was great, including explanations and excellent taste. Do pay a visit!

Friendly service and fantastic experience in tasting wines

A warm and welcoming family run vineyard. Grandfather started the winyard in 1903 and grandson with family is now running it. Good quality wine and we especially liked their cabernet sauvignon.

We had a wine tasting with the cheese and beef platter yesterday while doing the Winetram. From our point of view it was the best Stop. They serve very good wines and platters for a very good price. The wine tasting with Elize was very warmly and familiar and the hour we had just flew away. We highly recommend this place to stop for a tasting and/ or the platters. They are so friendly here.Thanks again for the Eikehof-Team.Ps: the baby owls in the Oaktree were another highlight

Wow! Just the best True wine tasting experience

After stopping at several larger, more commercial wineries, we happened upon Eikehof Wines just shy of their closing time, and they graciously agreed to let us do a wine tasting...and were so glad it worked out!We tasted some amazing wines including the best dessert wine Ive ever had, we chatted away with the hostess and learned a lot from her about wine-farming, especially in light of the current drought in the Cape, and we felt welcomed. Overall it was an excellent experience and a highlight for our wine-tastings.

What a great find this place was!!....we had the 5 tasting wines and it was superb. The staff and the owner couldnt have been nicer and the views were brilliant. It was lovely to see a smaller family run business, and next time we visit we will definitely stay for the lunch platter .

Wonderful winery and tasting room just a few minutes from Franschhoek. This winery is smaller & family-owned, a relaxing contrast to the larger more commercialized wineries.

Of all the wineries in Franschhoek this one was our least favourite. We came here because its a small, family run winery, as opposed to the large commercial ones. However, it didnt deliver on the charm, character or service that youd expect. We were rushed through our tasting of 6 wines, given unenthusiastic explanations of the wines, and overall were underwhelmed (and shocked) at the lack of customer service/engagement that weve come to expect in Franschhoek. Our waitress was almost annoyed that we had arrived and therefore had 2 tables to serve simultaneously. I wouldnt go back

What a lovely experience to visit a small, family-owned winery and meet the actual winemaker. Beautiful surroundings, great wines, a story to be told. Definitely a must-do amidst all the larger, commercial estates (take the pink or grey wine tram if you dont want to drive). We also loved the interior and were gladly told about the home-made tables. 5 star experience, one of the best in all of franschhoek.

We stopped in on a whim. Definitely the best wine tasting experience of our trip. The Malherbes are fantastic hosts and showed remarkable hospitality to all the guests that we saw come and go. Where else do you get personal attention for the winemakers! Great wine as well!

Francois and his family make a visit to Eikehof a very special occasion. In an age when most wine farms offer large commercial tasting rooms the personal touch in a marvelous setting is a breath of fresh air.

I only review the authentic. Eikhof wines are reasonably priced, of good quality and the tasting experience is relaxed as one sits under the oak trees next to the house. Plenty of space for the younguns to expend their energies.

Really enjoyed my first visit to Eikehof. Very informal and relaxed. The owners were personable, attentive and informative. Their history, of the farm and ancestors, is illumanitive. I look forward to returning and brining clients to the winery.

A warm, friendly atmosphere. In contrast to other wine farms in the area which were far more commercial in their approach, Eikehof offers the more family run, hospitable type of wine tasting experience.

When we came in a lovely woman gave some nice facts about eikenhof and the wine. You can choose the wines you want to taste yourself and pay per glass.

They have the best cheese boards in Franschoek and the owners are hands-on friendly interactive with the customers, a beautiful farm to visit.

A wonderful chance to meet the people who live and breathe fine wine in the Franschhoek Valley. I was impressed by the 2018 Sauvignon Blanc, and the impressively bold Shiraz. And incredibly hospitable owners. Recommended.

What a very special and attractive place to visit for local and international tourists. The oldest Semillon grape trees existing in Southafrica and vine made from them - a stunning expierience to go trough!! The very friendly and competent owner and his lovely daughter attend your wishes, sitting outside with warm weather under old oaktrees, eating a nice cheeseplatter and tasting their superb range of wines counts to one of the best expieriences i have made in this country!!
