Great staff, knowledgeable, great wine, and gave us a ride back after the tram left.
Very nice wine. Enjoyable tasting experience in a more traditional style tasting room with a fire place. Great for a rainy day although there is also an outside area for a sunnier day. Simple extras like crackers are offered which is important when tasting different wines. The wine and tastings are on the pricey side but lovely varietals and there is a choice of standard vs reserve tasting. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Cosy tasting room with a heater. Not as fancy or chic as others in the area, but thats not important when youre drinking award-winning wine. The walls are decorated with all the Platters awards they have won.Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Well worth a visit. We did one Reserve Tasting and one Non-Reserve Tasting. Its a good way to try more than your allotted wine per session.
The hidden gem of the beautiful valley of Franschhoek. This place was absolutely blissful. The staff were very friendly and really sincere. They trust their guests to an extent that I have never experienced anywhere else before. The breathtaking views and the feeling of being one with nature makes for an excellent stay. Chamonix will see us very soon again.
Beautifully set high above Franschhoek, stunning waterfalls, and one of the best Restaurants in the area, not to mention exceptional wines.
The place has a magnificent view over Franschhoek, the panorama hotel room in incredible. The service is a little odd, breakfast could be better, therefore 4 stars. Although if I would do it over, I would go there again for sure. Btw, I tried to ignore the presence of the stuffed animals a bit, and just hoped they were not shot for the purpose if displaying..
Management have zero consideration for guest satisfaction!!Don’t book this establishment for the TV or spa bath as neither work!! The problem was reported first thing in the morning and no action was taken to fix it!!Very very disappointing
On 12 March 2021 I had lunch ( Miso Beef, Robuchon pommes, mushrooms, black pepper sauce ) at Arkeste restaurant @ R210) The meal was very tasty and tender.
Beautiful location. World class wines. Informative tasting session. Friendly.
Terrible communication from owner with poor customer service. Phones just ring unable to get ahold of the booking centre.
Very dissapointed experience, no service at all. We were there for at least 20 minutes, waiting, no one bothered to attend to us. We were a table of 10 and walked out without any staff member even bothering to enquire. If it was very busy it would have made sense, but it wasnt.I am changing my review to a 4 because Bernard took the time to call me to get to the bottom of it. I am glad we still have businesses that care. Thank you, we will definitely visit again.
Quite esquisite and comfortable place. Everyone was very friendly and The food was divine. We didnt stayed at the place or did The Wine tour (since we already did several of these tours), we chose to only stay at the restaurant and Enjoy the place.Everything was excelent. The menu offered just 4 options of main courses, but what it seems to lack in variety, it really compensates on the quality. Theres also a vegetarian options which in no way falls behind the meats.Desserts are well harmonized and The coffe has its grains grinded almost in front of you.We ordered two wines, The first one we tried to chose and The second one we ask for a recommendation (The first was good, but be should have listened The staff from de begining - hahahaha). In the end, a lunch with 2 good wines, 2 entres, 3 main courses, 2 desserts and 1 espresso was around 500 rand (tip included).Totally worth it.
Did the wine tasting. Good wine, excellent service..
We had the most wonderful experience in this property. Stuff there super friendly and kind. Anytime we needed to call our guy (Brywell) he was always available and he assistance immediately. We had a beautiful warm room with an amazing view of the valley and the wild animals. Breakfast was also great. I am not sure how some reviews are so negative for this property. We stayed at Marco Polo lodge front room. Thank you for everything!!!
Good experience, wines are good, explanations of the wine need some polishing but other than that it was a good experience
FANTASTIC wine - magnificent vista
Lovely setting. They really have a respect for there wines as they ask you, when you do a tasting, not to spit them out but to drink all of it. The tasting is quite expensive compared to the other wine farms. But the wines are very nice.
Very good food recommended
The food is delicious..we are not big eaters but managed a 3 course meal ..the venue is warm and service was good..highly recommended..
What a poorly managed place. The jungle gym is tucked away such that no supervision is possible from the restaurant. Thus the poor condition thereof. The restaurant closing at 16:00 while you get dropped off by the wine tram at 16:30 means you have an hour there with nothing to do. Skip this one.
Loved everthing. A great hostess . Thanks Sue.
Total rippoff!!!! Wont see me again!
Their tasting room isn’t half as fancy as others in the area - but if it’s award winning world class wine you’re after, then this is the place.
Well informed, friendly staff, beautiful location and exquisite wines. Well done to the new winemaker.
Scenic and beautiful views
Magnificent people. Great experience. Do there.
Small relatively young estate which offers some wine tasting and has a small restaurant with outdoor seating as well. Wines for tasting were quite young and not quite there in my opinion.
Jimmy is the best waiter you can think of! Great Stay!
A brilliant wine farm, host and vibe! The Chardonnay and Point Noir are an absolute must!
New Years Eve 2017 was well catered for with good food, DJ and Kaapse Klopse.
Great venue and food. Didnt like the number of flies about while eating.
Nice selection of wines and Champagne. Well organised and neat.
Game drive and wine tasting, reasonable guide for the drive, but only two below par wines for tasting. Disappointing
Great wine awesome views. Franshoek is a beautiful place.
Reubens Restuarant great value for money.. Wine selection of great value. Staff very friendly and helpfull
Only ok compared to other vineyards in the region. Staff were nice but setting and wine was average
Awesome service, awesome wine and beautiful surroundings
Exelent, best wines out, all staff helpful and pleasant.
Among the best wines in Franschhoek esp res white and 15 reds
Trust me and go here
We had a very helpful and talented consultant
Nicest food Ive ever had.
Fun but needs a manager.
Superb. Food, Wine, Hospitality, Decor, Scenery.. Top Notch
Very poor service for wine tasting
This place is tired, a bit scruffy and not too clean. They may have won lots of awards but we were not impressed with their wines and tasting is double the price of other vineyards. Worth missing for Leopards Leap on the wine tour.
Incredible food and wine! Loved it!
Not very interesting. OK wines
Lovely place to have lunch
Great platters xxx
Service at Restaurant, Racine, absolutely appauling! Will NEVER return.
Phenomenal wines
Tasting room was small and crowded
We stay there for a few days every year and enjoy the breathtaking view of Franschoek and the mountains. The wine is very good! The rooms / suites are spacious and in an African style. The breakfast is good but nothing special. There is a lot of nature on the property and those who love animals are in the right place! You can discover a lot there. The Marco Polo Lodge is a hunting lodge and there are various trophies on the walls. If you dont like that, you are not in the right place here. We think its fitting and at that time it was still allowed, even if we basically dont support it. In our opinion, the lodge could be run a little more lovingly. There is upside potential. Nevertheless it is nice on Chamonix and we keep coming back !!
Anzell in the Boland, we attracted you with a wonderful wine tasting in the vineyard and in the game camps. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY !!!!Arrived at you, the guide is still wiping the vehicle. A glass of wine is put in our hand and he announces that the next one will be R60. Here we enter the farm with glasses of wine in hand over rough roads. More wine on us and on the floor !!!!.From wine tasting comes pretty much nothing. Tell us about Blue Wildebeest fighting and Moose jumping wire. Walk through a dining room full of guests and not even coffee is offered !!! Would pay R60 but no nothing. Back at the basement R400 is taken without any proof of payment ????Believe me I will never recommend anyone or drink your wine. Thanks for nothing !!!!
We did not sleep in this hotel, we turned around as soon as we arrived: the owner is a big cat hunter who exhibits his exploits in the big main house: stuffed lion, photo of leopards, dead rhinoceros and owner rifle in hand.We did not sleep in this hotel, we turned around when we arrived: the owner is a hunter of big cats who exposes his exploits in the big main house: stuffed lion, photo of dead leopard and rhinoceros and owner with gun in hand .
The worst winery in the area. The attention is very bad
Very good food and moderate prices.
Beautiful and nice!
