The best vegan pizza Ive EVER had! When it comes to finding a good vegan pizza it can be very hit and miss. Ferdinandos hits the nail on the head not only when it comes to vegan, or pizza for that matter, but also when it comes to flavor! Their pizzas are mouthwatering, the restaurant is absolutely unique and a must if you are visiting Cape Town, and Diego, the owner, is such a joy to meet! Also, they make their own vegan cheese, have their own base recipe, their boxes are hand painted, and they have handmade menus! Everything about this place is warm, welcoming, and delicious. I will definitely be a regular here very soon!

Pizza and staff alike are amazing. We felt at home as soon as we stepped through the door. They found us a spot to sit even though they were busy and we didnt make a booking. Their recipes are unique and delicious. Definitely worth a visit for anyone with a love for pizza.

This place is dangerous! Im sitting in my couch after eating an entire pizza for lunch. Its so good I could cry myself into an afternoon nap. But I wont, because the show must go on. So Ill just leave you with a warning: dont eat their pizza unless youre prepared to gobble the whole thing up. Because you will, even if its against your better judgement or diet...

Ive been keen to try this spot for a while as it is regularly is mentioned as one of the best pizzerias in town. It was very quiet when we visited so service was good. TBH based on social media posts I was expecting a more authentic Italian experience. I had the Peperoni pizza which was good. Decor is much as it was when the place operated as a gay bar called Lions Corner

6 slices of vegan cheese on a regular sized vegan margarita that costs R110? That was majorly disappointing. But I put two stars because their pizza dough is delicious.

Had a really tasty gluten free pizza... Its thin and crispy. I had ordered the Wa Wa, which just sounded so insane but was super tasty!!! The virgin coctails are also delish.

UPDATE to the owners reply:First of all Entertainer is an international app, not just South African (the owner should know this when they signed up to join the app); one can purchase a package with Entertainer based on location (which is available on their website).Secondly, self promotion in a reply to a complaint to a client is not a very effective apology and shows that my complaint was not taken seriously, as all matters mentioned was not even addressed in the reply. In fact stating I have three vouchers and can come back to use them, a feeble attempt at an apology, not a sincere apology or even an effort to rectify the matter(s) at all. Patrons and future patrons reading my review and the owners type of reply will have them make up their own minds to this establishment, due to the nature of the reply.Lastly we did try to call to make a booking and got no answer, we did mention Entertainer when we were there, but was not informed about specific pizzas. The owner says pizzas of R120, yet only one is R120 and above, the rest are all under R120.The establishment should note that nowhere in Entertainer or the restaurant it states please mention Entertainer on your arrival/before ordering. This is very questionable. Again also note that on Ferdinandos Pizza on Entertainer it says Pizza on redemption voucher NOT Signature Pizza or Specific Pizza, other establishments in fact have this on their voucher redemption (which owners are obligated to inform Entertainer about beforehand) when youre allowed to only use it against specific items in a restaurant. Then Entertainer adds this to your establishments app. For instance some restaurants specify Signature Dish and this then has you asking in a restaurant which specific dishes are covered by Entertainer. It seems this vagueness was done for a specific reason it seems, very misleading.Please note: We did raise our concern with the waiter, that we were not happy, but nothing was done.The pizza was good, but what put us off is the fact when you want to use Entertainer (and drove all the way to this restaurant, after we already was shown away on Tuesday because there were electrical people doing an electrical check, but we came back today) and then being told you can not use Entertainer, as theres a separate Entertainer menu and the pizzas we ordered were not the Entertainer pizzas; (and you budgeted for using Entertainer and now had to pay full price), this is not so great. I am sure Entertainer will look into this as well.Why? Because they have a separate Entertainer pizza menu (this is not communicated at all at any point in the restaurant, theres nothing of this even in poster form and best yet, the menu that they put ON THE ENTERTAINER APP has their FULL MENU and no mention of a separate Entertainer menu). The Entertainer menu is only on their website and at the very bottom of the page!We check the menu on Entertain, because we wanted to use the app, NOT on their website. Then its the restaurants responsibility to put the correct menu on the Entertainer App.I will be escalating it to Entertainer App as well, with proof screenshots that theres no mention of a separate menu on the Entertainer App (surely it should be there of then mentioned in the restaurant as well).Another thing was, we ordered our drinks, then some time later our pizzas, then we ate. More people came in to sit down and eat, and they were given bread sticks & aioli as a starter for the table, AFTER we ate our pizza, only then we were given the starter breadsticks & dip, the other table got theirs before they even ate/ordered their pizza. How does this work? Were we not also supposed to get this before our meal, while we were waiting? Wasnt a very favourable experience and its a pity as I would have like to have featured them on my socials and blog.

I bought a takeaway but wished I dined in, the staff were so polite! The dog Ferdinando greeted me at the door and the bartender gave me free breadsticks while I waited for my order, very very welcoming space. Pizza was seriously good! Their Diavolo is my favourite.

For my first time it was a very good experience. The crispy, crusty pizza dough bread stick starter with the garlic aioli was excellent, just could not stop, they were perfect for snacking while drinking.Happy hour, cocktails were value for money and very decent. For a Saturday evening it was good vibes and a great atmosphere, with a good mix of patrons. Even got a round of tequilas, without asking for a lil bit of waiting on the next round of drinks.Pizzas were of very good quality. The pizza crust was kissed with woodfire, light with a bit of bite and well seasoned. As a chilli lover the chilli oil was great👌 I had the Tomato Sauce, Spincah Ricotta Ravioli which was delicious! Light pockets of deliciousness which was very tasty. Although I wouldve preferred a bit more tomato sauce🍅All round, a very good experience with friends and would definitely go back.

I can’t help falling in love with eclectic, quirky spots and I just knew that the pizza would be OUT OF THIS WORLD when I walked into Ferdinando’s in Observatory. How I had never been there before is beyond me, but better late than never!We enjoyed a fun afternoon in this cosy, colourful space and chose from a large variety of pizzas while sipping on some fab wines. The large menus are on the walls, and features traditional-style pizza to ones with unique flavour combinations. My Manuela Loca, the seafood pizza, was incredible! The Salami & Pineapple (real pineapple) pizza was also really good.Think wood-fired, authentic Italian flour, tomato and fresh ingredients with a garlic aioli that will knock your socks off! Ferdinando’s is owned by Italian self-taught Chef Diego and Kiki, along with their adorable rescue pup, Ferdinando. Its the perfect pizzeria to enjoy endless celebratory moments in a relaxed atmosphere with love, laughter, amazing pizza and wine. Well be back for sure!

I called ahead to see if we could get a table for two, the waitress said shed take a note, we got there and there was no note. It took our waitress almost 30 minutes to get our beer order to us. She didnt even acknowledge that the food or alcohol would be there late. We had ask for breadsticks and it was just an unpleasant experience throughout.Likely hood of me not returning probably zero.

As close to Napoli pizza as you can get in Cape Town. This place comes highly recommended by the Italian community in Cape Town and has some really great authentic style pizza. Great to gather groups and friends for a fun mid week night.

Not sure if it had ever seen a cold fridge in it life. The pizza was cold. One of the toppings was olive which were not pitted. What kind of pshyco puts un pitted olives on a pizza? 0/10.

Loved this place. First of all because they had gluten free options but also for the authenticity of the decor, the food...even the pizza box art is done by hand. And they have this cute little dog 🐕 that was walking back and forth in the restaurant...you just cant fail to relax and unwind over a drink and good pizza in that atmosphere in the evening.

It was our first time there. The food was great, but unfortunaly was the service not so good. The restuarant is not so big but its got a nice vibe to it.

Dont bother. They have no desire to retain faithful customers who tried to keep them open during lockdown. Got collection order wrong. I live literally 5 minutes away but they wanted me to fetch the the replacement for the wrong order. Ill never order from them again

Best pizza this side of Cape Town. There gluten free bases dont taste like cardboard and sadness so that is a very great plus for me. I had the Le Fred Spider on the gluten free base. It was like heaven in my mouth. When the pizza bug strikes, I go to Ferdinandos to satisfy this craving.
