I like the location of this checkers but there is definitely room for improvement. Some of their Cashiers and packers can provide better customer service. Once I asked a packer to do something differently and she stopped packing my stuff, said something in another language to the cashier and walked off.

Always a pleasant shopping experience. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Love the layout of the store, easy to navigate.

Your Schoon Sourdough is stale and yeasty, very hard.. I dont think the loaves are being kept fresh enough, but compared to schoon bakery and Judds local, yours are definitely old and off.. maybe you could check up on it? It made us Ill yesterday when we ate it. This is more to make you aware of it, not to cause a fight.

Great and convenient but the fruit and veg can be questionable, especially if you order them on the app.

I LOVE checkers. Always have great selection of products and hardly out of stock! Lines can get very long but fairly quick. The space where you que is very crowded.

Poor management skillIve spoken to a lady on the phone regarding my deposit Ive made in betway account I left because I know the money will clear on my app, Ive phone the shop and a ladie told me the money is there the reason why it didnt reflect in my account because its to little. So I went to the store and the lady told me theres no Andisiwe working there so I told her I did phone and someone told me they have my money and then the African manager told LADY told me she dont know about it so I just left.

I am not able to comment on the physical store, but when using the Checkers60 app with Checkers Kloof Street, WE ARE BLOWN AWAY. Absolutely perfect, simple, efficient and incredibly fast orders. My girlfriend generally someone with very high standards and she is walking around praising how quick and easy our order was this morning. Literally ordered and delivered in less time than it would take us to take the car out the garage and drive there

The Checkers itself is pretty good but parking is a nightmare with cargards demanding one to pay them a hefty fee to park. Super annoying and I dont carry cash on me.

Possibly the worst checkers in Cape Town. Firstly, the staff are generally rude and unhelpful, often pushing past me in the aisles.Secondly, a lot of the food items are not fresh, and Ive had food poisoning multiple times after eating food from here. I wouldnt recommend this sad excuse of a checkers to anyone, youre better off going elsewhere.Whoever manages this Checkers is doing a horrible job.

Clean and well stocked. The staff arent the friendliest bunch of people, but then again, this store is always busy and the pace is fast. The deli needs someone more attentive to food quality. No complaints about meats, cheese, veggies or microwave/ready-to-heat/pre-cooked meals.

Poor service and food is not fresh, it always goes off the day after purchase. Long life milk always off. I have stopped going here.

This checkers has a nice selection of goods and its convenient to get to, but the staff is not great. They seem to act almost as if theyre doing you a favour by assisting you.

Used 60 app only to find i was double charge for popcorn for the kids. Still did not receive any feedback wrt that.Also the baby milk was out of stock when ordered via the app but i had to go look for it only to find it on the shelves by checkers.

Good, reliable supermarket store in the upper city open later than most! They close at 10pm on Fridays & Saturdays! Stocking almost everything you need to run your house. Friendly staff. A bit cramped but not the end of the world.

I bought cooked chicken livers yesterday Tuesday 24th Feb around 2:45pm. Since then i had a running stomach ddnt evn sleep at night.My body is too weak. I Thank u Checkers.

A bit small and they dont quite have everything but they pack a lot in a limited space, so you might be surprised. Best thing of all, theyre open until 9 every evening.

A small but convenient Checkers. It usually has most things I need but I find the butchery, wine, and cheese sections arent as extensive as the bigger Checkers stores. The store itself and the free parking out the back can get crowded at lunchtimes and on Saturday mornings.

Its a big corner store without the familiarity of a neighbourhood business. Dont go there expecting great service or an extensive range of goods.

Been going to checkers in kloof for many years but I think lately the cashiers are becoming too rude towards customers, like yesterday after doing my chopping there(around 5 :20pm) , I wanted to get some cash back at the money market (because the cashier who help me paying for my groceries didnt have cash), I was met with a very rude cashier name sisanda. I think the management needs to train cashiers on how to talk to customers..

I bought Wineland Brie cheese from here and the next day we found large patches of mould on the outside. Such a disappointment. We had to throw the whole thing away.👎🏼👎🏼

Very clean service was great and they followed the lockdown regulations. The staff was super friendly and helpful, really a great shopping experience.

This place is a disaster. There is never stock of general items, the staff are unfriendly and the overall experience is painful. They should make way for a Woolworths or pick n pay. Only one out for 1 times you visit this store will you get what you need. It’s not worth the hassle.

Terrible experience now with 3 woman at lotto counter. They did not want to help me or come to me. I had to go to them. So I ask if I can play lotto. They said no. But you can play wed. So I said can I play for wed...they still did not want to help me but another woman went to the other side to help another guy...so I said o I thought he has to come to you...so I I chucked my lotto form in the air and said good buy you terrible...

Well sorted supermarket.I like the what I can buy here. Good value for money.Not large but you get everything you need. Most of the staff is friendly but some just arent, especially the hot food section could be improved.No beer section

Thank you to the friendly cashier, Theresa that helped us efficiently when our electricity voucher number did not print on our slip. She got the manager out to see the problem and advised us he will reprint in his office to reflect the voucher number. Manager was not friendy and did not even acknowledge us but Theresa sure made up for that. Thank you so much for Your quick response and friendly manner. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK AND KEEP SMILING 😁

Its my favourite supermarket. Not so large, but well stocked. Lots of shoppers, but the queue to the tills moves quite fast. Closes at 10.00 pm - another great bonus.

Very good looking store. Lively atmosphere. The bakery and deli section is filled with a variety of gorgeous baked goods and quick lunches. The service is excellent and fast as well. This store has everything a shopper needs to fulfill their shopping list.

The cashiers are rude, and seem very angry. Most of my shopping experiences at this Checkers have been unpleasant.

Shop here almost twice every week. Sometimes everyday when the cravings kick in and the bank balance approves.Positive:1. Good prices.2. Fresh bread.3. Very clean and always neat.4. The cashiers are very friendly, always ask you if you want a plastic bag and will almost always bag your groceries for you.5. A good variety of ready hot food.I once bought a flask that had a leakage, wanted to exchange, one of the supervisors sorted it out immediately.Improvements and suggestions:The security guards and trolley/basket collectors could use some manners. Catcalling is and never will be appreciated.HOT FOOD SECTION: The employees behind the hot food section perhaps could be more attentive to waiting customers. A friendly smile can go a long way.Haircare products: Most of the hair beauty products that are supplied are mostly for white woman. Whatever you do, stay away from the cashier named Chuma Tsheqane. Read tags carefully, when she was packing my groceries yesterday, she decided to keep my lancewood cheddar cheese and back bacon for herself! and when I went to enquire this morning, the manager gives me a run-around, tells me the footage shows she packed everything, then he disappeared with my receipt. Rude, poor customer service!! I hope you enjoyed the items you stole. Be blessed, bloody thief!!!!

Quick & clean. A nice variety of stock with a very friendly and helpful manager. The cashier staff are well trained and this is a quick and painless experience - what a relief. A decent variety in stock.

My phone got stolen in the store - management wasnt willing to help, security refused to show me the video footage available. Its terrifying how bad their response was since Im a regular customer. Please keep your belongings safe when going here...

They offer very good prices and keep the store neat and clean. One downfall is somtimes things arent in stock. But overall a nice place to shop.

What happened to the wonderful manager they had at Checkers? This new one is terrible: an item on the shelf was marked for half of what it displayed at the till. After ignoring both me and the cashier for about 10 minutes, while the queue got longer, she just said: take it or leave it, not even bothering to fix the incorrect shelf price. Nice work Checkers.

Great selection of cheese, meat and fresh produce. All at good prices. Its a very clean store from my experience and you never wait too long in the check out line. Mixed experiences with the check out staff but that seems to be at every Checkers ever.

One of the better supermarket grocery shopping experiences within the cape town city centre. One of the better fresh food and vegetable selections. With a wide variety of general grocery food selections. I really love this store.

The staff at the tills are unpleasant no matter how many are recruited and fired, i have never seen such high staff turnover before but the store is well equiped with everything a household could require they are strong in this aspect and offer competitive month end specials. 10 out of 10 for product, 2 out of 10 for service. This is my experience and I have had some pleasant experiences every so often.

I had a good experience sjopping at checkers in kloof street. The cashier (Avril) is her name was very friendly and that was important to my shopping experience because it was my first time there. This checkers is open till 7 on weekdays and makes it extremely convenient to go shopping after work.The other thing that makes this checkers my favorite grocery store is at 4pm all the prepackaged meals, cheese and vegetables that expire that day are marked down.

Its convenient with parking, but for some reason the staff always seem miserable, & the deli food seems old. Definitely missing an opportunity - there are so many checkers that upgraded to great stores, this one is pretty average.

A generally poor supermarket, but not expensive. Very erratic stock, they often dont have fairly standard items, items are often not labelled with price on the shelves (or worse, mislabelled), staff are generally grumpy, and there are extremely long queues in the evenings. Good wine, meat and cheese sections though.

Hot food section extremely exposed to all customers standing to buy hot food or take aways. Approached the store manager and showed him the disgusting conditions with construction workers talking over the food and their spittle falling on the food. Also showed him how filthy the glass cabinets are. He said they would rectify it. Been there on several occasions after talking to manager, but no improvement. Some staff at hot food section also very rude. Saw a woman leaning on the glass counter and her dirty old leather handbag was actually touching the food. Suggested to the management to get enclosed glass cabinets for the ready to eat foods, but it fell on deaf ears. Will never return, and as Im in the tourist industry will avoid taking groups there again. Sies!

I honestly like this Checkers above many other Checkers because they always got tasters of different food to try though I feel like its a bit tightly packed which makes it harder to move around when its full of customers either than that service is dope and simple as any other Checkers, nothing really special but they tasters

If only the management staff was as friendly as some of the tellers. They act as if youre an inconvenience and give you the kind of attitude that is intended to make you feel like you should be honoured in their presence. As much as I like shopping at Checkers, I dont go to Kloof Streets branch anymore because of how unpleasant my previous experiences were.

Checkers Kloof Street really has VERY VERY bad customer service, not once but all the time that Ive gone there as well as when i try to phone them, i get transferred and no one ever answers. I usually experience great service at other Checkers stores. Gotta up your game guys!!

Very bad quality production of food service i got sick after eating expired chicked and when i showed they said i should bring doctors letter... the manager tried to give me another chicken but it was the same thing... never go buy food in checkers unless u want to die and very ignorant management

Love Kloof Street.. Checkers. Only one problem l have is that often items are not priced properly. Many times l have bought things back because the price on the shelves are lower than the price shown on the till.

Fairly standard Checkers. Quite a large selection with some good specials/deals every now and then.

Ive lived in various suburbs around Cape Town, and this Checkers store has consistantly proved itself to be the worst of them all! Over a period of one year theyve ALWAYS out of stock on about 40% of the items on my shopping list (items I almost always find at the Sea Point branch). On most occations when the shelves are half empty, the excuse is always the same: the delivery truck has not arrived yet... Ive raised my concerns with the manager, who were very open to listening to my comments, but nothing has changed. Today I made a pack with myself to never again shop here, and save myself the frustration.
