Getting a bit tired of staff literally watching people cut in line and still continue to serve them first. They strike up conversations with people doing this and then suddenly forget how to talk when youre at the front despite how friendly you are to them - take a guess why. Rude and slow staff - have been visiting Checkers ever so often for the past 3 years, and have always had similar experiences. Just go to PnP at Mainstream for your own sanity if you cant afford Woolworths.

Small, does not have everything that a shopper wants. Was looking for Vit. D tablets. They didnt have, but otherwise good because we were welcomed inside by a very friendly shop security guard

Shop revamp great but I was extremely disappointed with the inadequate use of space in front of the stores. Completely barren, poor use of public space with no purpose in mind and no greenery of any kind.

Has to be one of the worst checker in South africa. I literally drive over the mountain 10km away to another checkers and I live opposite this checkers. You have 3 people on a till during peak times, when they call the managers no one rocks up cause they are outside it. When ever you walk in its like your doing them a favor.

It has basically everything you need in one shop and its really close to the beach.

Friendly stuff. Fresh food. Reasonable pricing.

3rd time we have bought rotten meat from Checkers Hout Bay, they are disgusting, dirty and the manager is useless!

Well organised

When there is load shedding they dont tell you that they dont use credit cards you need cash. What a huge waste of time. Dump your trolley and go to another store that has cc facilities, which I did. They are so antiquated and are losing sales by the ton because of this. The other supermarket was running smoothly.

Great that the store has been revamped. I am surprised at the huge entrance area facing directly onto fridges holding fruit and pre-prepared meals; the hot air blows in and puts pressure on the fridges, crushed ice and the food itself no doubt. It does not seem to be an environmentally sensitive or sensible, design. Similarly the separate exit is part of a very large aperture facing into the South-Easter, so dust, street detritus and leaves blow in all day.

Very clean and beautifully renovated. No beggars inside the store, food is ALWAYS very fresh (never past expiry date) and there is plenty parking. On top of it, the staff are very friendly and I never have to stand in a long queue! Completely the opposite of Checkers Muizenberg. I hope Checkers Muizenberg can step up its game and become like Checkers Hout Bay!

After the reopening and renovation the stuff was very nice, polite and funny.Now it is terrible. They even dont say hello.But it has become much better last months.

Shocking. Only one staff member working behind the counter, had to wait fifteen minutes for help and when it came the employee could not operate the machine. Cashier ignored me for the first minute and then proceeded not to care about a product that someone had clearly stolen out of. I thought with the renovation things would be better but I was wrong, they have just become worse.

Average prices, there arent many options of brands or vegetables but is nice.

Your service is really bad. The cashiers will rather have a conversation with each other instead of serving your clients. And your roast chicken pie sucks compared to Woolworths.

This Checkers was very beautiful. Top standard. Clean and modern looking.

Very neat and well stocked with all needs for a shopping. They open early-ish at about 8:00-8:30am. Ample parking.

Ordered platters at 22h00 on-line the night prior to requiring them at 15h00 the next day for a cocktail party in the area. Scumptious, fresh, tasty, more than adequate per platter for price paid. Excellent value for money. Company in Houte bay will definately be using Checkers again.Thankyou to Mr Saunders the manager and his staff for excellent service!

Staff at Bakery was great helping me to choose a new bread, packers tidying the fridges, cashier and packers eagerly and cheerfully doing their thing... It went smooth and Fast!!! Good Day the service at Checkers Hout Bay is absolutely poor,dont like visiting that store,cashiers not friendly at all. Today i was overcharged and the cashier told me i dont know and mumbled in khoza tjienie.vrry rude and unprofessional no peoples skill at all.

This new store is lovely. Now if only they could jack up there Staff that are mostly unfriendly and lazy. This is a shop where you step over more staff than customers. Annoying experience. Bad management

A newly renovated store, modern and great deals and prices

Its a Checkers in a small town with very limited shopping options for the lower income bracket. It is what it is, but compared to other branches they could definitely up their game.

Prices lower than most supermarkets. Im spending more time there now than other supermarkets that are overpriced. Pity the cashiers dont know what service is.
