Nice bargains the day I shopped. Well stocked shelves. Nice and clean store.

Time after time, this shop proved that staff training is nonexistant, management is never on the floor and not to be found. Even though I have not been there for quite a while (Checkers Sonerset West and Burgundy are a breeze of fresh air), the experience was again, frustrating (to get a manager to deal with the cashiers unacceptable attitude takes 30 minutes after a phone call , as the staff is unable to find their manager) and not worth the time.Not going to waste my time there again.

Pathetic service received from management and staff. This store has change the look but service provided to customers is the worce received, you dont even get this type of service from canal which is much busier. Stood in an express queue for more than an hour just to 5 items.

You guys have to go back to the previous queuing system. Checkers hyper you are not a makro, you are not a woolworths. Queuing 2 hours for a weekly shop is ridiculous. Management did not think through this change properly.

Pathetic experience from N1 City checkers. Its a very huge shop well presented but the rolls I got from the bakery today were half cooked. I will not recommend anyone to buy there.

Nice shop for shopping but not only groceries. Hardware, clothing, medicine and many other lines also sold here. One stop shopping shop. Selection of produce is good and fresh and always available. Parking is sometimes a problem especially at month end

Usually busy on weekends so recommend a week day. Get the Checkers in house loyalty card for bargain prices. Covid protocols are in place but take responsibility for yourself as customers often dont care. Hence going early on a week day. Pay points are generally chaotic and there are always seem to be price differences between shelf and till so be prepared. Still a good value for money store.

Will never at this shop again. 4 times now I purchased rotten frozen chicken. Disgusted

Normally a good experience other than the sometimes long lines, but the customer service is putrid at the bakery today. This was a guy with really bad social skills ‘African short male’ as a description.. with this kind of service in my opinion represents the whole checkers of n1 city name anddon’t even deserve 1 star.. ruined my day, not even listening to other customers and responding to them, disgusting.

Literally stopped at N1 to grab a coffee this morning, only for the lady behind the counter playing on her phone and started the conversation with a hey, none of our machines work, so no coffee. Ok not so a big deal, but if it looked like she was interested in helping us, I would feel totally different. Felt like we are disturbing her conversation with a fellow colleague. Incident occurred today 04/04/2021 11:00.

Ordered a decadent chocolate cake for delivery on the 360 app today. Cake arrived smashed up because it was packed on the side. All of the icing sticking to the inside of the box and cake broken. Also received the notification for delivery 10 min before it actually arrived. DISGUSTING service and when I tried calling the store I got cut off TEN times. I wld rate a minus zero if I could . Will NEVER use this store again.

Last shop at this shop . Till lady and packer spoke to each . Dont even greet me as the customer. I put two intems of one thing . Then asked me if I want too . Totally disrespect. I understand their job is not easy . I am a nurse so nor is my job . I always treat my patients with dignity and respect

Entrance on the side of the N1 City Shopping centre or alternatively one can enter through the mall. Full range of products on offer. Food, cleaning, beauty, clothing, home ware through to furniture and electrical appliances.

First of all I would like to Thank Mr Antonie Gerber, one of the managers at Checkers Hyper N1 City for his kind heartedness. I had my 5 year old son with me to do my monthly shopping and ended up being the last customer in store. My son threw a tantrum at the till for me to buy a car that costs R100 that was not in my budget and then Mr Gerber came to my rescue and offered to buy the toy car for my son. You definitely dont come by people like him everyday and I hope that his work in store gets appreciated by staff and colleagues. Then I would like to thank Mikyle Barends for his exceptional service he gave me at the till. Keep up the good work, I will definitely keep coming back. Thanks Guys!

Obviously service is not what confectionery staff at bakery not their for. Better and better should rather be slower and slower.

Extremely disappointed with the staff and security of Checkers N1 City. While standing in the queue, I asked two ladies in front of me not wearing their masks (talking and even coughing) to please put their masks back on. They refused and made a big argument in the shop. They even went to the till and paid without masks. No staff or security intervened to ask them to put their masks on. This is unacceptable and irresponsible. So many people walked without masks covering their nose and mouth. I will never shop here again. Could the management of Checkers N1 City please address this issue with their staff urgently!!!

Love shopping here, but had a problem that was not resolved. I bought a kettle end of last month. Had it exchanged on the 20th September but it is leaking again. Phoned twice but no answer. I would like someone to contact me via email. My email address is [email protected] box as I told the lady (Charlene) that help me and she said as long as I have the slip then it fine. The Checkers store in N1 City it quite a large supermarket which stocks a variety of products. You will find all your groceries here - they have a bakery and a sushi bar here. They store also has a wine section. The shop employees try to be helpful if you ask for assistance.

Because it neat quiet so easy to do shopping

Its month end and not all the tellers is open. Ive been standing in the cue for an HOUR already and not even in front. Pathetic.

The overall store is great, my rating is directed at their money market and kiosk tills they are very slow and at times there are 3 to 4 people at the tills and only one will assist. I spent 35 minutes waiting for assistance.

Mr Breda and his team did a fantastic job of preparing our variety of platters for my dads memorial service recently. I went to the store to pay ahead of time and explained my aunt and uncle would be collecting on their way to the service. They wouldnt be able to wait. He ensured that his team understood the circumstances and helped where they could. The food was delicious and various people commented on the taste of the food. We were pleasantly surprised at their kindness and quality of food supplied. We are very grateful that their contribution helped us end off a sad morning, around a feast.

Checkers Hyper N1 City is quiet a large store that simple put stocks everything. The best part of it is they are really well priced and and I love the fact that they stock BC Wines at a brilliant price. They also maintain a good amount of stock and are always willing to assist if you need something that is out of stock.

Plus I will 9rand out of the deep freezer

Very nice Checkers, it has everything you want. If you go there know that you will spend time. And not shopping but in the queue to the till. My 3rd visit in 3 weeks and the same problem. The shop is basically empty but the queues are past the shelves and they simply do not move. Forget buying frozen goods. Unless you plan to braai that same day then sure - bonus. I cannot say if it is staff or system related. The wait to get to the front is 20 minutes plus. And thats maybe only 4 trolleys. Baffled...

Big with loads of things. But still lacking in quality. Bakery is subpar and the layout is strange now after 6 the rearrangement... Fresh produce is poor. The pick n pay is much better for a smaller shop 🏪... Luckily 🤞🏽 the shoprite checkers house brands save them as they are quite great value for money 💷 items. Hope they improve the variety and layout. Also they have a poor selection of Halaal items. Very little to no halaal meat and biltong... Strange especially since its in Goodwood. An area with a large enough muslim community to warrant having even a single fridge/freezer with halaal items other than cold meats and chicken 🐔. Another reason to rather go to pick n pay on the other side of the mall

All you will ever need under one roof.

Firstly to get someone to attend to you at the store is difficult, the staff at the store do not know their products and staff promise to call you back and the never do. bad customer service

Just went there to do monthly shopping. Checked Google beforehand to confirm they will be open. Arrived just before 7pm on 17 Aug and started shopping thinking I had an hour to find all I needed. At 19h30 a staff member came and ask me to please hurry as the store closed at 7pm already. I protested that according to Google the store closes at 8pm to which the reply came I know but its wrong. I then had to hurry through my last few isles and consequently missed a few items meaning I will need to go back to the store again. How hard can it be to fix the times on Google? Surely the store management can make such a change fairly easily and quickly. How long has it been wrong if the staff are aware? Why did nobody stop me at the entrance? (edit)Despite the feedback from Checkers I note that 1 whole week later the time shown on Google is still wrong...

This shopping mall has a variety of shops available. There is two mainstream shopping centres on either end of the shopping mall. Namely Checkers on the one and Pick n Pay on the other end. Between these two well known shopping stores are other stores, namely their is a Woolworths and a Edgars store. Their are a number of cell phone stores such as Vodacom and MTN. There is also sneaker stores as well as clothing outlets. There is also on an upper level restaurants and fast food outlets such as a Spur Steak Ranch restaurant. Then there is also fast food outlets such as a Wimpy and Milky Lane. If you are in the mood for seafood restaurant, then there is a Ocean Basket restaurant. So there is a variety of shops available for your convenience for what you need. Dont forget that on the other side of N1 City Mall, there is a GAME Store as well with a liquor store as well. So your basic needs for things are conveniently available for anyone that would like to do their shopping there.

Fresh fruit and vegetables are always available. This is a nice big store. They have pretty much everything you need for you household. Good and friendly service. There is a lot of parking available

Absolutely pathetic. There is NO service to speak of. They dont even answer the phone. Also left a message earlier this week but no-one bothered to phone back. May Checkers follow SAA and go bankrupt.

I would love to give it 5 stars, only for the variety of products this particular branch supplies, and for the sushi section for their great tasting and affordable sushi, as well as their friendliness. On the other hand, I would however love to give it one star, for the fact that today when I was there and wanted to draw cash at the till I stood in for 45 minutes, I was told sorry, no cash withdrawals at my till. First of all, banks especially like FNB, ENCOURAGE this action at till check out points. If you are unable to cater for this, then you need to express this to FNB, and they can take you off their partners list. Otherwise, have signs on designated tills that CAN perform this task, so that you can avoid wasting everyones time!

Nice store for all your needs. From food, groceries, meat, fruit and vegetables. You can get clothing for men, women and children in the shop. Kitchen stuff as well as tools and hardware such as paints brushes and ladders. Bakery and wine. Friendly staff and helpfull. Lots of undercover parking for raining days.

I really enjoy shopping here. They are stocked with your day to day needs plus loads more. It is never overcrowded and so far I have experienced nothing but great service.

Nice stoor to visit. What you need, they have. Yes the lines are long but what do you expect when everyone loves to shop at the store.

I think you should give more training for customers service soft skills to your tellers. While serving customers busy chatting with colleagues next to them. Laughing and gossiping. No customer focus and the teller was serving me refused to give cash back to the customer who was asking for it after paying her groceries

A lovely big Checkers Hyper where I am able to buy all my groceries and even medicine, clothes and camping stuff. I especially like their braai range of food.

Can get most of my personal groceries there. Big shop and big variety. They sell from food to cleaning products to garden tools and small appliances. There is a few lovely staff then obviously those that doesnt really want to help. This place is my go to shopping store. It has a pharmacy aswell so jou can even get medication at this store.

Always a pleasure except for Verimark who never have the right goods available as well as never anyone to assist. For the rest, like the Chemist and the Deli etc. they are always a pleasure. The people serving at the tills are also for the most part always friendly and plesent when I am there.. I much prefer shopping there than at Canal walk any time... Cheers.

Very big shopping centre includes motor car spares security boutiques groceries you name it. Adequate parking and banking services. One stop shop

The staff all seems yo be really well ttained in politeness and helpfulness. The butchery girls were super efficient and friendly. I wanted pork chops without the rind...there were none left...they took the chops from the shelf, checked with me that it is OK if they use them and just cut off the rind. Fantastic. 😕 sadly, I wont often go back as the isles are not trolley friendly and the way ptomotions are packed make it even worse.

The service is so incredibly slow; the tellers unfortunately dont seem to be in a hurry at all to help customers so queues take extremely long :/

Everything under the sun ...under 1 roof... From a sock to hammer you can find anything you need at checkers... Their specials are often value for money ..check on their website and go through their catologues before deciding to shop elsewhere..
