Dont bother going to this Checkers if you want to buy from the XXL savings specials. They remove certain items from the shelves making it look like its sold out and when the special is over they place back on the shelves. Rather take the time to go to Checkers at KC, their shelves are always stocked up for the XXL deals

The most unprofessional store Ive come across. Ive always had a bad experience at this store, in fact, Im put off from supporting checkers. I live in the area, so this store is convenient. Went to buy fish yesterday and I waited at an unmanned Fish counter for close to 30 minutes. I asked for assistance and they said someone is coming. I was so angry, I actually phoned the store while I am standing at the fish counter and asked for the manager. I eventually told the lady I am in your store and here is nobody to assist at the fish counter. Eventually the bakery manager came and she tried her best to assist but she struggled.i was so tempted to leave the trolley of groceries and go shop somewhere else. Customer service pathetic. No manager in sight to assist customers. Stay away from this store if you dont want your blood pressure to sky rocket.

Shop always clean, shelves pack to capacity of sale items, all fresh & frozen products shelves neatly packed n wholesome. Staff friendly and helpful, Covid protocol followed the the max. Prices reasonable, you get huge savings with your store card and thats a plus

Decent Checkers. Neat. Layout is good. They have good specials on certain things. Cheese selection is good. Pity there wasnt marscapone cheese. The mature cheddar selection is wonderful and at 50% off is a must while still valid. Look out for the coffee specials at the kiosk too. The Deli is also good.

Sundays R60 whole grilled chicken is a must from Checkers! The variety and pricing is most certainly justifiable. Late from work and need to make that quick stop to get those last minute things then youll be happy to know that Checkers opens at 8am and closers at 8pm from Monday to Saturday. Sundays they open at 9am and close at 8pm...Very neat, Very New and filled with everything you need to make that awesome dinner or grab the household essentials!!!

Good customer relations by ALL the staff especially Aliya, one of the managers. Always smiling, respectful and very helpful.The staff goes out of the way to assist .The customer is treated like a king.We are Elite Cash & Carry clients but we are also happy to shop at your store because the staff is trained in customer relations.

They sold me rotten, smelling grilled chicken. Not coming to your shop again. Anyone looking for fresh deli, go somewhere else. Same shoprite bs of selling previous days food. Pointless returning it as I will ending spending more on fuel driving up and down!

Used to be a fan, but as of late I am annoyed by how more often than not, this store doesnt have a few items I need. The veg section is hardly ever stocked up anymore & the veg that they do have goes off 2 - 3 days after purchasing.

The queues to enter the store are very well managed, security are well organized and leading the pensioners to the front of the queues.Trolleys are being issued to customers standing in the queue. Customers are getting the opportunity to sanitize their hands while we wait.Well done!!!!

Very bad Reception service i have been phoning for the pass hour wanting to know what time the store closes and no one seems to pick up the phone.

Took a few minutes longer to open on my previous visit. If they open at 8am, thats the time doors should open. Especially in Winter to avoid customers from standing in the cold.

This is the upgraded version of how all other stores should look and operate. The store is clean and gives a sense that all fresh goods are ready to be eaten. A great place to shop from just going to grab a few things to lets do some monthly shopping. The mall itself is centrally located and gives the rivals supermarkets awesome competition.

U say open at 08h00 on a Wednesday but when we get here its closed and security says 09h00. Please change your times on Google. Many customers have been turned away

Store is very neat and tidy and there is free parking available.Cashiers seem to need more training on the services offered by Checkers and how to process them. The cashier that attended to me did not know how to load money onto a gift card nor how to accept a payment with a gift card. Hopefully this will improve over time.

Love this Checkers! Its always clean, its big and spacious so you never feel like youre walking all over people. There is a wide variety to shop from in each section and always freshly baked breads however the cakes were a bit disappointing. Love the fruit and veg section as well. Most of the time there are specials running which makes a food time to do your shopping

Nearest supermarket from home. Convenient location, good quality fresh produce and variety of grocery brands stocked.The store has a bakery, halaal butcher, fish counter as well as fresh sushi bar.Parking can be a nightmare at peak times so some patience required.

Usually fully stocked shelves and helpful staff. For some reason, my visit today was nothing like that. Empty shelves and no staff assisting in the aisles.I love the location, its the closest Checkers to home now and they sell everything you need from a supermarket and more.Their sushi is above average as well.

I am really really disgusted by Mr Esso(sales manager)i think....came to refund a product which i bought from another Checkers branch and was treated like someone who stole this product(eventhough i had my proof of purchase and product still unused)....i was interrogated for 15 minutes and he said he is just quickly going to call the branch i purchased it from and returned after another 15 minutes to tell me he cant get through via phone.Turned me down after waisting all my time.The following day i went to another store with the same p.o.p and it had it sorted at Kenilworth within 5 minutes(which was also not the original purchase store).Again i am really really disgusted by not Checkers but Mr Esso which is a representative for Checkers

Checkers Rylands Village is just lovely. The Store is neat, the staff is professional and though they have teething problems creating new jobs for so many people, the service is impeccable. I have ordered platters of food from them and was most impressed with the service, the quality of food and the expedience in which the order process was handled. In time, the center will function as a well oiled machine, effortlessly and smooth out the hiccups of any new venture. Good luck to a great brand!!!

Parking sucks! Toyota seems to own bays as their cars filling space which customers can use. Some smaller stores can reserve parking with car guards enforcing this with traffic cones blocking the bays.

It was a pleasant experience.Secured parking welcomes you.The store is spacious clean and the staff was very helpful.The quality of the fresh produce was excellent. The bakery and butcher sections were likewise. I definitely recommend people of the surrounding areas to visit and see for themselves.

Big, clean, and has a large selection of goods. I recently forgot my phone at the till - when I returned ten minutes later, the cashier had handed it over to management who had kept it safe.Their extended trading hours make shopping here really convenient.

A beautiful clean, well stocked store. Management quite friendly. Shelf packers and some other staff need to be trained to be polite with customers. Theyre unfriendly and not very helpful. They need to improve on their service at the fish counter as well. Stock rotation in the fridges not good. I found earlier dated juices and feta cheese packed behind later dated stock. Having said that, I found the cashier and money market assistant who assisted me on the day I was there to be quite friendly.

Loved the store until we went there on Thursday night to buy a whole chicken and rolls. It was nearly closing time so my husband didnt check the chicken. When we got home it was too late to go back to the store. The chicken was so burnt nobody wanted to eat it coz at first we thought its the marinades colour but, no. We bought 8 rolls and three of it was so old that you can injure someone if you threw it at them. I know everyone was probably excited to go home after a long day at work but, I came there to get supper for my family after my long day at work. This just made me angry as it was late. Super disappointed customer

Was delighted when this store opened for convenience sake. Last night I bought two grilled chickens with sell by date 11th may. One was smelly when I opened the bag and had to throw it away because it had gone off. Dont the staff check what they sell? Pissed off and R65 poorer. Will have to spend my money elsewhere in future

Just opened. Great place to get your groceries. Finding parking can be a bit of a hustle sometimes. Its clean and accessible to everyone.

Worst checkers by far Ive gone to other checkers that is far more busy but is operated much better i went there this morning the till froze i told the cashier its fine ill wait until it reboots eventually when it rebooted the debit system was offline this took almost 30 mins they brought another card machine it also didnt work and there was no communication in between the eventually called the manager who didnt even apologize. I said its fine i go draw the cash when i came back i waited to pay and the woman that was dealing with cash told me to wait!!!! How much longer must you wait then a guy behind the till has the audacity to tel me in places like this you have to be patient!!!!! I then had it i left the stuff there and went to pick n pay

Checkers Rylands is the new kid on the block , who still has to prove themselves. I visited a few times since their opening. The parking is designed to protect The centre. However, it proves challenging to drivers who are not familiar with the Centre. Hence my hesitation in visiting Checkers Rylands.

Very disturbed at the$*** service and staff at rylands checkers.. was about to purchase sushi at the fish market and asked the lady behind the counter to give me more ginger and soy sauce which I was going to pay for and the controller comes and shouts rudely at her not to give until the sushi chef comes back from their lunch, what service is that I ask and she just says they work on their own its not checkers problem.. blatantly rude not even worried how she addresses the customer.. why is she even a controller when she cant control her mouth

A Checkers in the neighbourhood is great...however...the grilled chicken I bought tonight was disgustingly cremated. The bottom of the bag melted onto the chicken and I had to salvage whatever I could, to eventually make chicken/mayo. The wings literally crumbled as it cracked from dryness and the flesh had shrunk under the extended cooking time/heat. Why?? What a waste of money!!! I should have gone to Bin Rashid. For some reason, I cant add photos.

So disgusted that we are in a pandemic but yet in the waiting line here are people entering with no masks. Seriously how can one enter without a mask!

I wasnt satisfied at all, the polony in the deli looks like it has been there since 2017. My mom bought 2 loaves of bread there recently and when we got home it was mouldy. How disgusting. Whenever u ask for a manager they never around, cant be found or in a meeting. Theres never someone around when u look for assistance. Checkers Rylands village cant come close to Checkers N1 city, as that staff goes out of their way to assist. Looks like Im going back there as the service and products close to home is disgusting. N1 city Checkers Im coming back to u guys.

Poor service and terrible store manager.I visited the store on 19 December 2017 and struggled to receive assistance. I went looking in five aisles for assistance and reported it too store manager mr Jacobs, who inturn gave me an aggressive attitude and spoke over me whilst not listening. I would not recommend anybody looking for good customer service to frequent this store. Its a shame that in the more affluent areas one receives decent service.

Today we were many unhappy customers at Checkers due to the long qeues at 2 tills until we complained and a 3rd one was finally operating. I am very grateful for Checkers on my doorstep instead of having had to go to Rondebosch. However, it is a nuisance to find inadequate pricing of many items & staff need to be more knowledgeable. Thorough training is lacking unfortunately. A rewards incentive is required to keep up with other stores. This must be considered because a cashback is very welcome to clients and it will definitely increase your sales.

Its close to home, so I go shopping here almost every Sunday. I dont think Ill go back again. Its disorganized, chaotic and staff are not helpful. Shelves are often empty and today there was no bags of onions, 2l Sprite, Robertsons Peri-Peri, Bar One, etc, Lays Plain and a few other items. I rather shop at a store that has everything I need.
