Like having home-cooked meal! It was so delicious - I had the mac n’ cheese side dish (which was very filling on its own), boerewors, pampoen koekies and biftika with tzatziki. Friendly owner and waiter :)

How many minutes would it take to prepare the following: a boereworst sandwich, a ham n cheese toastie and fried chips?At Spekboom, the answer would be 50(!!!) minutes. Not only that, but when they deliver the order, they will forget to add the boereworst to the sandwich...!!!The grill master ( and owner/manager?) would also present it as a take away (nice surprise; no worst when you get back home), while you wanted to eat it in...Also, who will wait 50 minutes for take away food...!?The disappointing customer experience doesnt stop there though...when you comment on the long waiting time and you remark that all the bubbles in your coke has disappeared (you wanted to enjoy the coke with your food after all), the same owner/manager would say yeah yeah yeah, not look at you and walk away. Luckily, there was a more respectful waitor by his side to replace to coke with grace.The food itself: the boereworst and chips were exceptional!. the toastie very small and lacked proper toasting of the cheese and ham.For the boereworst, I would definitely return again, but...Ive never experienced such a horrible service by an owner/manager of an independent store. Youd think he would be extra attentive, set an example for his staff, etc.But no. He is very cordial to get you inside and to take you order. But once thats done, he turns into a inattentive, petulant and arrogant character. Utterly bizarre.

Yes, service is slow, but the food was worth it.Go here if you have lots of time to have a casual drink while waiting for your food. Enjoy the experience.Dont go here if you are in a hurry or too hungry, you might end up hangry...

De Spekboom, thank you. One of the coolest restaurants in the Winelands! If you enjoyed De Spekboom, then I would also suggest Ghenki Sushi, Drum Restaurant and Basic Bistro!

A fantastic place in the middle of Stellies. The food is freshly prepared and well made offering a good variety to suit different taste buds. I love the burger man cooking up a storm outside, it makes you want to go inside and sample the food! There is a great area at the back, outdoors which has a great atmosphere. It is all super chilled! There is a certain amount of uniqueness about this place. The entrance is not wheelchair accessible and parking is along the road and is at a premium during peak times.

If you are looking for Great food and fabulous ambiance then consider DeSpekboom !I had the Best Yellow Tail - it was a generous portion accompanied by crispy roast potatoes and my favorite veggie, beans! My daughter ordered a burger and she said it was awesome. What a wonderful place - mine host, Fritz who welcomed us and made us feel comfortable and at home, his beautiful daughter Nerine who served us and his gorgeous wife, Nadine, checking up! A lovely family run business that is inspiring and an Absolute Winner ! Thank you !

Best best pork belly to have! Chicken pies are divine! Food is served with veggies that does justice to the menu.... Jou ma se kos!! Nice setting with staff that is genuinely friendly and attentive.

Had a evening dinner there. Food was really good and the buffet had a great range. Wine delicious from the menu and really good value for money. All in all a nice cosy place for dinner, lunch or breakfast.
