Food was okay. Service was really horrible. Had to run after the waiter for drinks. He never asked if we need more drinks or if we enjoyed the food. Not a very pleasant experience. Maybe your staff needs more training about how to serve customers. Waiter also didnt have a name badge. Restaurant was not busy at the time.

In terms of service, this is probably one of the best Ocean Baskets Ive been to in a while. Fast efficient service. Squid Heads done to perfection! However, the sauce on the squid heads and the rest of our food was very salty. Unfortunately, this resulted in us not being able to finish our meals.

Love this place. Some of the best seafood I have ever had. I don’t understand it, everything cooked well, I especially like the calamari and muscles, perfection. I love their butter lemon sauce!

All the food was cold. The rice was under cooked. Very disappointing. I used to drive a distance just to come here. No other OB used to beat this one. Maybe management has changed or owners or something. But my family and friends wont be back.

Fish and prawns overcooked. Prawns lacked flavour. No basa was available. Stir fry was mediocre. Not the usual great OB experience I am used to.

We ordered the mussel and prawn combo on Mr delivery.We literally received 3 tiny prawns and 3 mussels with a metric tonne of rice. How can this be a main course. If I wanted a main course of rice I would have asked for it .. paying over R120 for this is a RIP off.When we used to order this before there was at the very least 6 prawns and 6 musselsThis is ridiculous- incredibly disappointing.

Me and my wife went to dine at OB 25 September 2020 but earlier the day I googled the menu and saw a platter for 2 is R265.00 hence our decision to go there. What a disappointment we were seated directly but it took a further 15 to 20 minutes before someone took our order. In the meantime we noticed that a group of 4 people took a seat behind us and 2 to the right of us. 15minutes passed and both groups left the restaurant as no one even bothered to look at them and take their orders. This happened to 3 more groups that filled tables and left because they never got any service. By this time we already sat for 40 minutes to and by now we started complaining about the time it took to get our meal, a platter for 2. Another 5 minutes later they came and put plate of food in front of us and the only thing that was hot was the chips. The seafood was cold. The 2 pieces of fish looked like it was backed a day or 2 ago. It was the first time since lockdown started that we went there but the worst mistake I made in a long time. I do not know if OB forgot what service and good food ment but I refused to pay the bill. If this carry on you will close your doors very soon.. Would like to add that they were not very interested in clearing the tables after the previous people leftRegards

Every time when feeling like eating fish straight from the sea, I definitely consider Ocean Basket Emperors Palace. Great for the value and also perfect mouthwatering food.

We asked staff if they would be able to serve us within 90 min prior to a show we were to watch. They did not disappoint.The served us quickly and efficiently, the food was ready before our drink. We even at 20 minutes to spare before the doors opened.Well done to the staff!

Working is the Hospitality industry in Dubai and coming to a well renowned place for seafood I was very disappointed with the service and food. Send it back and still not happy. What happened guys ? Unless they improve on their well renowned food and service I wont be going back there again

Grear environment with nice music in the background. Very calming after gambling. The options on the menu are varied and reasonably priced. Wine is priced competitively. Attentive staff. The tables are quite clean. Separate smoking area so no tobacco fumes. Specials are plastered in the walls in your face. Kitchen looks clean and staff well groomed

Popped in for a quick lunch before we went to see a show. The sushi was fresh and well prepared and the seafood was cooked to perfection. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. We were in and out with full tummies and a smile.

We were here on a busy weekend. Waited for a 5 minutes for a table to clear. The food was awesome! Very fresh, tasty and cooked well. Friendly staff.

I enjoy going here. Good service and the meals are freshly prepared. The desert are to die for, alcohol is served herezso you can enjoy a glass of wine with your meal.

No customer service at all stood at the door for a good 5 minutes and someone asked me if I needed a table and I pointed at it I went and sat there and they never returned, after a good 10 minutes I left and I am sure nobody noticed, will never bother visiting this place again.

Ordered 12 prawns and 200g calamari for R250 and the prawns was under age looked like cocktail shrimps. No value for the R250. Was so discussed i dint eat it. Ordered this on take away.

Delicious food and generous portions. Service is a bit slow BUT it is a VERY busy restaurant. No restroom in the restuarant which is why Im deducting a point as the loos are very few and far between.

Food was flavorful however the menu and the food delivered are very different in appearance and quantity. The sushi that we ordered took an hour to arrive.

The worst in my history of visiting restaurants and ocean baskets. I visited Ocean basket Menlyn but the service and food was on point. Came to Emperors Palace it was a different story. The service was poor, the food was hectic , beyond bad. I think Management at Ocean Basket Emperors really need to work on improving, they are not managing the brand nicely.

It was almost OK-ish. I think they may have been too busy... The food was overcooked, the food order had to be corrected, the drinks stood on the counter (2m away from our table) for 10 minutes while they waited for a wine glass to become available. We ended up batch ordering multiple courses and rounds of drinks. Not what Im used to from ocean basket and not what Id expect at this price point.

Definitely wont see us again. We were there on the weekend with our 2 grandkids. The one wanted cream soda and the other Sparberry! Needless to say you dont stock Sparberry!!!. Which leads to a slight tantrum. For myself I ordered a Cosmopolitan...it tasted like pure Cranberry syrup with lemon in.What FAMILY restaurant doesnt stock Sparberry......As for the bad to lack of service we dont speak. My main meal came with just the meat but no side salad. I had to get up to go and ask for it. Your service has declined from a 5* to 1* within a year!!!!

Quality of food differs from time to time. No consistency in food preparation. Sometimes over cooked, sometimes under cooked and sometimes just peefect.

My husband and myself decided to have a romantic supper at ocean basket last night my fish was fine but my husbands wasnt neither was his stir fry he was up the whole night with a runny tummy... So they wont be seeing us again!!!!

The food was great( succulent and fresh), the waitron was super busy yet efficient but we had a bad encounter with the manager Justin.He came over to the table next to ours and asked how they were doing and how the food was, he then went on to ask if they were using their hot sauce, to which they said they were not and he could take it. Immediately after he reached for the tomato sauce on our table without so much as a hi or even eye contact. He was about to walk away when I said excuse me, we are using that. He then turned around and said he was going to ask but that was far from the truth, he was practically already gone.I can only attribute this kind of disregard and utter disrespect with with race, because had he done the same with the couple on the other table I would have just passed him off as rude.Definitely not going back where Im not wanted and would advise that if you are a person of colour looking to have a lovely day out without odd things to mess it up, steer clear of this place or get a takeaway.

Im highly disappointed. This is one of my favourite seafood places but the service and the food was terrible compared to the usual standard (which is usually very high).No one checked on us even once during the and we had to look for a waiter to ask for the bill. This was the worst experience.

Ocean Basket Emperors palace should get some tips from Ocean Basket in the k90 centre boksburg regarding service. FOOD is good but the terrible service is just a let down.

I was here a while back and the looked dilapidated and we ended up not eating there. While at carnival this December, I saw they renovated the restaurant and decided to try them out. Service was average food was good. I wouldnt say it was any greater than the malls ocean basket but was, nevertheless, a good night out.

You dont take reservations after 6pm!!! Well Ive just booked dinner somewhere else.
