The food is good, but do not order from Uber eats, or any other app, its double the price , literally double the price.its also not hot food.its classic Durban dishes with spice and flavour a small bite .

Ordered through Mr D last month after craving for indian food and saw such high reviews on this place. I got the lamb breyani and some samosas, very below average food, I fail to understand why it is rated so highly.On top of that it gave myself and my husband the runny tummy afterwards. And been pregnant, this is a big no no. If there was a zero rating it would be it.

I bought the special for the day which was two chicken dishes (chicken stew and Chicken breyani) for me and my boyfriend. Just after eating we had a running stomach for two days. We both are used to hot and spicy food but there was something definitely wrong with the food there. I do not recommend anyone to buy from there 👎

What a disappointment! It was my first time trying out Amma Spice, I ordered a lamb bunny and a lamb curry with rice. The lamb curry was terrible, the gravy was watery and the meat was extremely chewy. The lamb bunny lacked any flavor. The food was obviously not fresh, poor quality of meat used and flavorless. We had asked for extra gravy for the bunny but it was topped with a tomato chutney rather than the lamb curry gravy. Overall it was a horrible experience and I will not be returning.

The service was lovely and very helpful. However the food lacked flavour. The roti was bland and the Briyani was dry and had so few pieces of lamb.

Thank goodness for Ammas spices! Its very hard to find a good quality Indian spice shop and this store is the closest to getting everything that I need. Great products, lovely food and super friendly service too!

Bought lots of take away food from the edenglen branch. Food was always tasty and truly authentic south african indian flavour. The veg special with a variety of curries is lovely. Mutton bunnies are flavourful and meat quality is good.Will definitely go back.

Bought a chilli lamb burger. Requested no onions. This was missed. Honest mistake. Was provided with a replacement burger. Very very disappointing. Pattie was cold and hard. No chilli. Chips was cold. I like the place, the people and the bunnies. Experience has left me extremely disappointed. Would definitely not recommend the burger.

Thought well try their food for the first time at the Glen Marais branch. Ordered 1 x curry only, 2 x kiddies bunny chows and 1 x creamy lamb vindaloo. Although the taste was good, I was actually supprized to find no potatoes in the curry and vindaloo, there was very little meat to the dishes, and there was no heat of spice to any of the 2. A vindaloo is suppose ro be one of the hottest curries. We also asked for extra spicy curry, so its not that they didnt know. We ended up adding Tabasco sause to our food when we got home. Dont know if I would try them again or recommend them.

Absolutely Delicious! Prices are so decent and well worth every cent. The Bunnies, Breyanis and Samoosas are my fav.😊 Compared to the other places in Edenvale, amas is really taking pride in their food.👍🏻My new go to little gem in the eastrand. The best bunny in JHB, very authentic Durban style. The meat is soft, curry full of flavour, bread very fresh and delicious homemade pickle on the side. Very friendly and efficient service. I wont go anywhere else...seriously try this Bunny!

Tastes good however, if you order a half bunny, you will get a half of that very same half filled with bread - so you basically get a quarter bunny for a whopping price. It has happened to me a few times, needless to say I wont be going back.

There is no better place for Curry, Bunnys or any Indian food Like Amma!We drive all the way from Roodepoort to Edenvale on many occasions on weekends for this food. The whole of Johannesburg, Gauteng, and Durban itself has got nothing on Amma Spice!We have tried and tested so many places and nothing comes close to Amma.Any other place, was a waste of money for us, but with Amma, we want more and more!So blessed and happy to have found this perfect gem!

Edenglen, 5 stars for taste, however, made the unfortunate decision to sit in for the meal. Bad Idea, raucous laughter and very loud conversations by one of the sales staff that was sitting at the back of the sit down area. One could not partake ones meal peacefully.

Great Indian cuisine

Ammas Spice in Edenvale definitely lives up to its name with food just as good as Ammas! We have tried the lamb bunny and the beans bunny. The flavour was on point, the curry to bread ratio was perfect and they even add in a bit of veggie pickle along with your salad. The chicken samoosas are also great and if anyone is looking they have quite a good range of traditional soya products. Best Durban curry experience in the area thus far.

Been there for the first time yesterday. Everyone has been speaking about the new indian curry place in edenvale. To be honest... Best curry in gauteng. Ive never met such warm hearted people at any restaurant before other than amma spice. Makes you feel like family. The food was fantastic. Had a lamb bunny and and lamb breyani. I have tried them out recently and I cannot understand how ive never been to them before. I LOVE AMMA SPICE. The services are excellent. Never been disappointed.Tried the lamb bunny chow, omg it was delish. potatoes so soft and extra extra Gravy. Everything was extra.The owner is a true gem.
