We went to Primi yesterday and was attended to by a very good waitron by the name of Tino. Very good and very clear communication between us all. Our order was prepared quickly and to our requirements, he was very attentive to us as well. Our food was very nice and tasty.We never saw or spoke to a manager and to be honest it wasnt even required at all .Thank you Tino for making our Primi experience very enjoyable. Will be back just because of Tino.

Loved my salad and they played the nicest music.Our waiter was great also♥️

UPDATE: Mandla and his team invited the wife and I over and I have to say, this is what customer service is supposed to be. The food was excellent, the staff were all very attentive and pleasant!My wife and I really enjoyed the food, and while the place was quiet, the atmosphere was great.Well done guys, I appreciate the fact that Mandla looked into what happened durino our last visit and worked on rectifying the situation.I appreciate the honesty and I like the fact that they took the time to check in with me and apologize.Definitely a disappointing experience here tonight! My wife and I usually come here and have one dish in particular, The Recco Pasta with prawns. Having visited after a few months, we were really excited about the meal. Despite the table service leaving a lot to be desired, the food was what we were genuinely looking forward to. Upon arrival, the plate looked as though there were no prawns, I figured they were probably just underneath the pasta, after eating a little, I found just a few shards of prawn meat (huddled together on my plate next to the bay leaf (see photo?).This was all the prawn meat I could find, disturbingly, my wife had even less prawn meat.I understand that companies are trying to cut overheads and increase profits, but this is not a good reflection of the quality and service Ive come to expect from PRIMI.I must also mention that the pasta was severely undercooked. We elected not to notify anyone as its always a risk sending food back for changes in any establishment. The staff were aloof and not very attentive.We were so disappointed by the food that we cut our dinner short, finished the meals, paid and left. We decided to go somewhere else for dessert.

Ordered through MR D. Missing item on the order, food not labelled, no serviettes or cutlery and when I called the store was shocked at how the Manager, Mandla dealt with my complaint. Still waiting for the owner or his boss to call me. Will not be ordering again from Primi!!!

Friendly staff members,clean, their food is bad, my friends didnt enjoy their chicken , I didnt enjoy their calamari dish.

I am so dissapointed. The fish I ordered was swimming in olive oil and bland. The lamb chops were bland and the garlic was too overpowering.

My meal was fine but my partners steak was just salt and pepper, no basting or whatsoever, mmmmmm

Ordered a recco with prawns.... got 4 little prawns for more than R100))) next time will just take a recco without the prawns...even though it was tasty I think I would enjoy it without the extra price tag for 4 small prawns. Service is fast. Not friendly but at least fast

Wonderful Italian restaurant, the food is pretty good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Very nice place to eat even with kids. Tiny play area for the kids which helps. I would definitely recommend this place which has a wonderful environment.

This one doesnt even deserve a 1...never going there..yoh! What a let down! There only two waiters, the food wasnt good at all. I literally didnt eat, they had to remove my dish from the bill...these guys have to do something

Pathetic service ordered a steak on 7/11/2020 the manager took our orders told him the steak must be medium to well done when my wife received her food she got chips instead of mash when I got my food my steak was still alive with blood in it then the manager says he will compensate me by taking out the chips which costs R25 compared to the R220 steak.

Average Italian food, the vibe is okayish.Although, when the waiter brought us our menus he just left them at the other end of the table and walked away to attend to another table...Timing was Brilliant with getting our order out

Lovely food. The pasta is to die for. And a waitress called Colleen made me feel at home. Its my go to place when Im in Gateway Theatre of Shopping.

After receiving 6 deliveries via Uber eats from primi gateway without garlic, chili, parmesan although stating my request in the special instruction comment section, I contacted the restaurant directly and spoke to the manager Ashley. The next time I placed the order I called through, spoke to Ashley and my order was delivered exactly the way I expected it! I was impressed with the manner in which Ashley handled my grievance. Thank you Ashley for all your help during all those times.As for the food, years later its still one of my absolute go to places to have a good, reasonably priced night out.

On a very busy weekend we were lucky to be greeted with staff that are so warm and hospitable. The service was upbeat and fast, the pizza was delicious, the wine kept on flowing. What more could we ask for?

Lovely restaurant and very, very pleasant staff. Today I ordered this chicken alfredo kind of thing and it really tasted good. Service was quick and efficient. And the Ice Tea was fantastic, infact the best ice tea that I have ever had. A great italian restaurant.

A place to go for having pasta or pizza. Nice seating. Children playroom. Been there couple if times had to ask to down the music. Way too loud. Otherwise good and nice outdoor area as well.

I found the ribs to be subpar. They were super fatty and a bit on the tougher side. My husbands pasta was a bad decision... It seemed to lack flavour, much like the wait-staff. (Our guy was so delayed and lukewarm that we almost just had drinks and left- benefit of the doubt)The radio was the better part. Loved the music, its the reason for 3 stars.

Honestly the most perfect pasta I have ever tasted... it was seasoned to perfection!!! And to top it off with Douglas Green Merlot 😍

Lovely outside area that is under cover with fairy lights. Great wood fired pizzas, large burgers and Italian pastas. Perfect for large groups or romantic dates.

Primi of old vs now is definetly a disappointment.the kingklip my wife had was not fresh fish rather boxed fish done up with a very off putting taste.In addition the flatbread was tough and difficult to chew. The chicken salad with chicken over cooked and dry. My waiter brought manager through and we complained about the kingklip but she insisted that they just following recipe -fish is brought from cape town.yet Kingklip this time of year in Durban is widely available.She didnot offer anything else. The dish cost R200.00 -overpriced and definitely a RIP offWill not be going there again.

The only good thing about this restaurant was the service. The pizza we ordered was soggy and overly salty. The steak was overcooked and had a fishy taste. When we sent all our food back the waitress apologized and agreed with our assessment of the food but the manager didnt even notice or care that we sent back food we barely touched.

Unconventional Italian restaurant. They have a few great healthy options. Not my first choice when looking for Italian eats.

Needs a good scrub down. Toilets were wet, loo paper on the floor and I know its Durban but a roach too. Didnt stay for the food but waiters were great.

Visited this restaurant for breakfast. Waiting service was fairly decent however the food was a horrible experience. My bacon was hard, tasteless and full of oil. The tomatoe was not grilled properly. The fries were very dry and cold. I doubt Ill visit again. 😔

Standards have gone down. Absolutely terrible restaurant. Terrible staff, manager is unfriendly. The restaurant is empty because of the terrible service. We left after 2 minutes because of how bad the service was.

I ordered the usual which was the Recco pasta. It was so bland and tasteless, lacked flavor on so many levels. I sent it back and still wasnt much different. Thats the last time Ill be eating at Primi.

Its clear waiters dont know their menu and the difference between spaghetti verses linguine. Staff argue that the menu was changed when forgetting to bring linguine quickly substituting the dish with spaghetti. Its ridiculous.
