Absolutely fantastic experience. The food was delicious. I had the Sunday Roast and my husband had the porkie basket. Service was excellent. There is an amazing comradeship between the waiters and patrons so lovely to see. There was an excellent singer strumming on his guitar. He was absolutely amazing. I had to check that it was a genuine person singing and not a CD. His songs couldnt have been more original if he tried. Definitely a 100 🌟 service. Wonderful amazing and highly recommended for a wonderful relaxing Sunday lunch 😀 well done Di you have reason to be proud 👏

Lovely restaurant out in the countryside . Best chicken burger, taste delicious. Friendly service. Went back on Saterday and had the best spare ribs ever while watching the July horse race. 😜🤗

We had a wonderful time today at Old North. We reserved a table down by the dam and although it was hot the waiters went out of their way to ensure we had enough shade. The food was fantastic and portions generous. Lovely place to take the kids with as they have wonderful jungle gyms, and although the ducks werent there today they are a hit with the kids :)

Great food, music and surrounding of garden playgrounds are refreshing and good for families to get out. A must visit.

Excellent spot for the kids. A lovely play area and lots of space for them to run around. The curry is fantastic.

First time visit was a bit shorter than I would have liked. Nice view when sitting outside. Good friendly service had a small meal that was good, house beer was very nice. All in all a good place to visit even if you have a large party as they have a open area and a small pond. Also kid friendly, trampoline and open spaces. Next visit will be a longer one.

Our bike club Ulysses Durban chapter did a ride to Old North At Karibu. 18 bums in the seat. Breakfast was served on time. Staff friendly, value for money. When our club arrives at a venue this is always a stress test. All wanna be served . you guys performed well. Thank you other bike clubs give them a stress test

Really nice establishment, staff very friendly and welcoming. Food was inexpensive and quantity and quality good. Older crowd so didnt need to swagger in. I highly recommend this pub environment. Favorite of the locals.

My family went to my cousins little girls 1st birthday party this morning, what a lovely venue!! There was so much for the kids to do, plus the lovely view of the lake for the parents to enjoy.The platters of ribs and chicken strips as well as the pizzas, came out hot and fresh and were delicious.I chatted to some of the staff, who were so friendly and professional.As an Executive Chef myself, I can appreciate the value of a good team and good service.Thank you, I will be back to try out your menu soon!!

I had a pleasant experience. The food was tasty. There are some interesting dishes on the menu worth trying. An interesting place. It gets very noisy indoors and hampers conversation fortunately there is outdoor seating. The road to the venue is a short gravel road.

Stunning place with a great vibe. I am not the biggest sports fan but when it comes to rugby at Karibu I AM IN! The meals are delicious at a good price and the vibe is electric. Theres a playground area for kids to play while parents can sit outside and still oversee them from above. There are also 2 resident cats for the cat lovers :) A wonderful spot and an asset to Ballito.

Nice place, especially for the kids as there is a big jungle gym and plenty space to run around. Food however took forever and mine arrived ice cold even though it was pretty quiet - although once it was heated it was lovelyEDIT - Thanks for getting back to me Diane. Just to mention tho that our waitress was lovely and when the food did come back warm it was really lovely :) I would definitely still be back

A family orientated restaurant bar with good and affordable food to suit all tastes A unique feature is the outdoors entertaining area next to the Karibu dam that can cater for around 80 people. It has a platform for a band, a Lapa for food and drink prep. From birthday parties to weddings can be hosted. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. A definitely a place to consider for a Saturday morning breakfast, a quick glass of wine or some coffee with lunch or dinner.

Very quit relaxing atmosfeer, clean local pub.

Love the surroundings and setting. Staff are wonderful (attentive, helpful, efficient and friendly) and the food is good and reasonably priced. My only gripe is that there is nowhere for non-smokers to sit on the outside deck without coming into contact with cigarette smoke and smell.

What a lovely place. You must try it out. They do Sunday lunches, but you must book very popular.

Proper Pub!

I asked my sister who lives in Ballito to take us to a down to earth pub in Ballito, as we had just been to our Fathers funeral and we wanted to have drink on my Dad. She immediately made the call to take us to Karibu. We explained our situation to the manager (my apologies I cant remember her name) and asked her to please play us some Elvis music as he was my Dads favourite of all time. Without skipping a beat we had Elvis playing in the bar the entire time we were there. Thank you so much for turning a very difficult day into something very special for us a family. As a bonus, the service and food was very good. I was very impressed, fantastic setting and great ambience. The food menu is varied and caters for most needs. I had the fish and chips and was greatly impressed. My sister had the Ploughmans platter which was huge and consisted of so much cheese we couldnt finish it. Drinks and food are very reasonably priced. All in all, a fantastic place and I will always return there. Thank you everyone at Karibu.

Fantastic vibe, happy staff, top class hostess and great food

We had a 21st at the location, and it was absolutely amazing. The staff were so helpful with setting up and they all had happy and bubbly personalities. Every time there was an empty drink , a new one was on the table and the old glass was taken away. Diann the owner was so helpful with planning and coordinating the evening, This is one of the best locations that I have ever been to for a party and it creates an awesome vibe sitting by the dam with braai pits all over.I just want to thank the staff at old north , you guys made the evening , especially Tomi (Batman) who sang kaptein for the birthday girls which was just an awesome addition to the evening.There is not one bad thing I could say about the evening, Diann controlled everything and really showed professionalism in the hospitality industry.If you looking to have a party or function , this is the ultimate location. Everything is just perfect.Thanks once again to everyone at old north , you will definitely be hearing from us again for future parties.
