Great atmosphere, wonderful service and the food was amazing. Ray’s “wine bar” was a great touch and added a level of sophistication and uniqueness to the experience. Cannot fault a single thing.

Phew what an excellent meal in the middel of a residential estate. The food is fantastic and the service friendly and efficient. Really an awesome all round experience, just wished we lived closer so we could become regulars.

Was a lovely setting. We only ordered the bagel with Salmon and Avo so I cannot comment on the other choices.It looked delicious but we were most disappointed as it was trout and not salmon. Dont understand why so many places try to pass trout off as salmon.

Definitely a must go to, has a great view of the trees which looks beautiful. The service was spectacular, we got our drinks 1 to 2 minutes after we ordered them and when we asked for water it came in probably under 1 minute. Their pizza was amazing, thin and perfectly cooked. You might have to book before hand to get a seat but Id say this for the weekends and prime eating times mostly. Overall a great dining experience.

Just tried to make a reservation and the woman I spoke to was quite rude when telling us they are fully booked. It is understandable because it’s a weekend, but they don’t accept walk-Ins, which is absurd. Basically the woman told me there’s no chance of us eating there today and if we showed up at the door they would turn us away.

Only had coffee here but nice layout and relaxed atmosphere. Good and friendly service🙂

Fantastic food, fantastic service. Be sure to book in advance on weekends. This restaurant is set amidst coastal forest and has something for everyone from gourmet meals to pizza and pasta. I highly recommend a meal here.

Keep it up!1st Review: Good quality food, in a great hidden-away restaurant in Salt Rock. Dont let that fool you, it still gets busy, best to go there just before noon to ensure a table. Excellent specials board, even if the normal menu is quite basic. Ribeye steak is amongst the best in Durban, stuffed quail was decent, but masala chicken was a bit bland. Onion rings were exceptional!

Paul always pulls a new bunny out of the hat every time I visit. Great venue too for Adults and kids as there is a playground for them.

Lovely ambiance and friendly staff but the food wasnt anything special. The garlic and focacia was burnt and too crisp and the vegetarian pizza was bland with hardly any cheese on it at all. The best dish was the masala yogurt half chicken, the sauce was flavourful and the chicken was tender.

Great restaurant. On our trip to South Africa we have had some amazing dinners, but mostly in Cape Town. Rays has given us hope there are great restaurants in other parts of SA, as we have been rather disappointed by the restaurants we have been to in both Port Elizabeth and Durban.Rays does not reinvent the wheel, but it sure makes it as round as they come. Pizza, pasta, burgers, sandwiches and a few meat dishes certainly does not sound like a gastronomical invention and it sure had us fooled. But that was until we gave it a closer look and found quite a few dishes we would love to try. Unfortunately we could only have two, but would happily come back to try a few more. And that was even before we noticed all the specials.Food at Rays is not complicated. It is on other hand well thought through, carefully executed and very tasty. I would come back here without any hesitation.

High end dining in the middle of Salt Rock

Dinner was surprisingly good. Portions was reasonable and well presented. Service was excellent. Would most certainly recommend going here for dinner. If we are in the area again we would most certainly be going back.

Excellent wine selection. Friendly and welcoming staff. Would highly recommend to all who are looking to an alternative to dining in a busy mall.

Really nice restaurant with good service. Not the biggest menu but the menu has appetizing options that you wouldnt just find anywhere. A little pricey but the food and service was very good. The burgers were a real hit at our table!

Rays Kitchen did the catering at my nieces wedding on Saturday. The harvest table was the best I have had at any wedding. Very different and delicious food was beautifully presented. Your plated mains were excellent and as for the dessert table....the best ever!!!

Beautiful setting, and really well designed restaurant which is very tastefully decorated and furnished. Quaint jungle gym for the kiddies. The ravioli and pork belly was amazing.

Superb!!! One of the best meals Ive ever had. There service is impeccable and he venue such a delight. So unexpected, it doesnt feel like you are in durban! We had the masala aubergine and the tempura prawns for starters. Mains was one of their pizzas (literally the best weve had in years, thin vase, perfect toppings) and the pork belly was perfect. Every meal was beyond expectation and the portions are very generous. Mid to higher price range but worth every cent. Nice drink selection. Only disappointment was the bread and butter pudding which seemed like it was heated in microwave. Go for a meal and you wont be disappointed!!!!!

It was our 48th wedding anniversary and decided to celebrate at Rays Kitchen. The best decision EVER. The food was in another league, the service outstanding and we left feeling that we could not have celebrated the occasion any better than our evening at Rays Kitchen. A level above the other high quality eateries in the area. Modern, airy and comfortable, with almost seamless transition from inside to al fresco areas. Exciting and creative menu with appetizing options for light meals (seared tuna lollipops!), artisanal pizzas as well as more substantial dishes. Excellent staff!

This is an amazing restaurant within the Dunkirk Estate in Salt Rock! The dress is casual, but the food is exceptional. It is not inexpensive, but well worth the price!

Food and service was excellent. Their specials are quite varied from meat to fish to poultry. It is a concern that every single person at the restaurant was white even through the restaurant is in South Africa which has such a large black population. Inclusive marketing can do the trick
