The food is always good and full of flavour. Staff is warm and welcoming. The combo starter platter is great for the table especially since you get to taste a variety of starters. My favourite and go to dish is the Green Curry and also the Hot Tempura Prawn Sushi Roll. I also always end off with the Chocolate Spring Rolls for dessert - yum! Theres really so much more to try on the menu. Will definitely be back.

Beautiful setting. Wonderful staff and the Manager is amazing and friendly and also from Phuket. We really enjoyed starters, mains and desert. Definitely highly recommended, peaceful environment and modern. Food is tasty and delicious!!! 10/10 for Wang Thai ❤🥂🥳

I have always enjoyed the food at Wang Thai and the quality has not declined over the years. This was my first visit to their new space at The Sanctuary and it is lovely! I was just catching up with friends, but it makes for a great date night restaurant too. Not really child friendly, as in, they do not have a kiddies menu or kiddie size drinks, but they will try and accommodate where possible.

Closest Thai experience you will ever get in South Africa. This remains one of my top favourite restaurant. Nice variety of dishes to choose from, clean and super-friendly staff.

The curry festival is the reason I decided to pop in...I was greeted by a friendly Japanese lady. She kindly explained the menu. I enjoyed the 2 curries with Roti and Rice.

This is one of my favorite places. The food is authentic, flavours are there and service is really friendly. Sushi is one of the best as it is fresh, and I’ve never been disappointed when I chose duck (meat choice that tends to be dry) as my meat option. My only critique would be that it’s a little overpriced, for example when you choose chicken as your meat option (dishes range into above R120) which should be the cheapest meat to stock, and every time I’ve ordered rice, it’s been a little dry and over cooked. I’ve been here a few times. Other than that this branch in particular is still one of the few authentic places to eat at in Somerset West. Will always be back when I can.

Terrible! Closing online states 10pm. Got there 9:30pm. Asked to order take out. Were told only for sit down.Then asked if we can sit down. Told kitchen was closed. Told the receptionist they were being rediculous since the website said otherwise. Left. Five seconds later she runs after saying we were rude. Even upset some of the clients. Never going back there. Never recommending. Will report to letting. 😡

We were highly impressed by both the ambiance and taste of the foods at this restaurant initially.Recently we have found that there has been a drop in the standards, consistency and sevice.The taste experience as well as staff pleasantness have changed.Our few lasts visits have not been as enjoyable.

This was the most stunning pineapple curry I have ever tasted!! Fresh, big portion of succulent prawns, fish and pineapple, to name just the main ingredients. I had it with egg fried rice and it was all mouth watering!!

Not bad at all! We went on a weekday evening, and the place was a lot of fun. Not overawed at the regular sushi offerings (the salmon used for the roses was cut far too thick, for example), but some of the more specialty sushi was amazing. A good time to be had here, try it at least once and then go back for seconds.

Home away from home! Loved the meal and the hospitality. Very friendly staff and very respectful and polite. The meal itself got me on a food high. Definitely becoming one of my regular happy places. Oh yes and they currently have the 2 for 1 sushi specials on a Wednesday till 4pm. Their sushi is authentically divine!!!

We always get our Thai fix at Wang Thai, what a great place to bring back the food induced memories from our visit to Thailand.They have a wide variety of foods to choose from, all indigenous to Thailand so you wont be disappointed!Oh and they have Singha beer for those inclined... My pleasure😁

Very good food, which was served incredibly promptly on a Saturday at 6. At that time, werent too many people, but it was filling up as we were leaving.I personally had the red curry with ostrich as hot, which I found to be pleasantly spicy, but enough to cause my nose to run (the desired effect) with the flavor still coming through quite well.My wife had the Massaman curry, mild, which she also enjoyed.For foreigners: rice does not come with your order of curry like you might be used to. For both of us the Jasmine curry was prepared excellently.Service was prompt and attentive.Will come again.

Quick nibble, very empty good food

Waited an hour and half for the main course . One of the starters was no more than chard plus bits of onion. It was not what I thought of as authentic Thai food. Main courses were not well prepared The green curry was watery. I didnt consider it value for money.

We took a large celebration party for lunch. Everyone liked their food. Two of my children are vegan and they said their food was fantastic. I had their roast duck (crispy duck!!!) and it honestly was one of the most delicious meals that I have ever eaten. I had crispy duck in China and that experience was pale in comparison.

The food is so good. Service was a little slow and didnt remember all of our order but it wasnt a train smash.The problem was the overwhelming heat inside the restaurant. They need more ventilation or something. It really negatively impacted our meal unfortunately.We will not visit again when it has been a hot day...

Normally very busy place, call to make a reservation first.Problems: you better come early to eat.On my last visit, we were 8, with a booked table, and arrived at 7:30 PM.Our drinks took 45 minutes to arrive, the starters 1 hour. The main course 1 hour and 30 minute. New drink took another 20 minutes!Yes, the waiter was too busy, because the place gets busy.Eat something small before going !!!!... :-)But previous visits were ok. We all assumed at the table that the very long delay was because we had a late booking.My advise is to book to dine at 6 - 6:30 PM, to be safe and avoid the kitchen to get too busy.In terms of pricing, it is on the once a month or even every two months place to visit. Premium type, if you wish.I do not find is value for money and I found it a bit too much on the expensive side, taking in consideration the food and drinks ordered.Still a great choice to visit. But more expensive than similar range restaurants.

Warm atmosphere with good service and wide variety of menu items. The restaurant was willing to make items on the menu vegan to accomodate.

Authentic Thai food presented eloquently in lovely surrounds. One looks out over a large pond across the deck from the comfort of the restaurant. Most main courses are ordered with a choice of base ingredient (e.g. beef, chicken, duck, soya, tofu, butternut...) The variegated veggie options allow for all sorts to dine with you. The fried banana with sesame is a must-have dessert for all who do not suffer from sesame-induced anaphylaxis.
