Who knew that Simply Asia Heritage Square has such great sushi! Not only is their sushi fresh and DELICIOUS, but they are currently doing a half price sushi special for sit down customers. Its a good lunch spot if youre in or around town -- and super affordable too!

Choosing a restaurant to eat at in the Cape Town CBD can be quite daunting. Sometimes making a decision can take so much time that before you know it its curfew. We decided to venture around Heritage Square, and popped into the old kid on the block, Simply Asia.If you havent yet tried Sushi (or Asian food) this is where youll acquire your learner wings into eating Asian food.Its simple, tasty, unpretentious and constant. The sushi rice was firm and held together when dipped. Not heavy or stodgy.Theres a good ratio of rice and fillings. Guaranteed you wont get smotherings mayo here. The wasabi and ginger are served on the platters but easy enough for you to scoop your own serving.If you havent yet got the hang of chopsticks this is definitely the place for you. No side stares here.... Theres cutlery on the table!We tried the:Salmon Fashion Boost, salmon and avo fashioned into a sandwich.Hot Tempura Prawn Roll, an old favorite.Hot Rock and Roll, the teriyaki and seven spices takes this to another level.Inari Spicy Prawn, rice and salmon filled in soya bean curd.Lemon Stir Fry Rice with Prawn, a new dish on the menu with very distinctive tastes of lemon and soy. Definitely a must try if like us youve eaten your way through the menu and looking for new taste sensations.Spinach Dumpling, not a dumpling at all; more like a spinach toast. The highlight and unexpected delight of our meal. These dumplings were a surprise... Fried but not oily. Light and crispy on the outside. Soft on the inside. Oh so comforting.Simply Asia doesnt require the heels youd normally don when traipsing Heritage Square. Its like coming home to mummy.

My No1 Simply Asia go to.They maintain the original standard and style since inception. Never disappoint. The.managers and staff are always on point.

Do yourself a favour and visit Simply Asia in Heritage Square! This sophisticated little restaurant offers amazing hospitality, tasty food and an overall welcoming and cheerful ambience. I would highly recommend their sushi menu but you can never go wrong with their Phad Thai. Ive always had a good experience and will continue to visit.

Absolutely love coming here. The food is delicious, the setting is lovely and the staff are always so welcoming. A personal favourite off their menu is the 514 with prawns, and of course their Sushi! Definitely recommend visiting Simply Asia in Heritage Square.

In love with this little Simply Asia. Its very central and has a convenient parking right opposite. The sushi is AMAZING! there is a wide variety for all the sushi lovers. My favourite is the 882. Im definitely bringing my friends with next time. Also, on Mondays-Wednesdays its half price on the sushi.

I love the food but this is the third time in the past week that I have requested but not received chopsticks with my meal from ordering from this branch on Ubereats. I even added an extra note in the instructions section to add chopsticks even though it was already selected as an option for cutlery and should come with my order anyway. What kind of Asian restaurant does not supply chopsticks??? This is very frustrating.And to add to this frustration, while I asked for no onions and peppers in the 548 and you got that right, I was also given brocolli and cauliflower which I did not ask for. I highly recommend that you pay more attention to your customers needs.

Really good food and nice personal.

For those who like Asian food, I imagine it is good. It is quite different from what Westerners are used to eating.Although I had eaten before, I did not like it and could not identify the ingredients on the menu.

Good Food, Good Management, Good to know they pay attention to quality control standards and how food should be made at its best. For spicy lovers you have to ask for Thai Style its worth it.

Date of incident : 31/12/2020I ordered two 514s from this branch on new years eve. Myself and my partner felt as if we wanted to head into the new year with our favorite dish from Simply Asia (Yip, we corny like that).The dish was everything but Good! The noodles were cooked to a point where it had lost its texture (it was mushy). The dish was super flavorless as if the Chef lost the will to work on this day. It was super surprising to have a tasteless 514 because this is a flavourful dish.I reported the issue to Uber eats at the time but due to not having a picture my feedback was somehow invalidated.I decided to post this review after recently ordering a 514 from a different branch and being reminded of how good this dish is actually meant to be.

Food was well prepared. Service was great and gentleman with name of Dirk served us. We were 2 people and my colleague from South Korea. Even he said food very good.

First of all its a Franchise. To set expectations right. Secondly, walk inside. It doesnt look like one. Just a really cozy place. Nice tables, nice settings. Then you face a waiter with a smile. I eat here often. Duck basil and Chilis is my favorite. Duck is low fat, lot meat. Good rice portion and beans are never overcooked. Never. Spicy levels available. Hot means hot. I order hot and add some of the 4 extra sauces they serve on the side. Devine. The service ladies are quick, always have an eye if your wine glass is empty. The only improvements I would like to see is on the added veggies for my duck. Carrots and Peppers yellow or red. For the colors. Thats all. Great place around the corner where I live.

This has become our favorite Simply Asia. Mostly due to the quality of the preparation and portions served, the friendly staff and the manager who is always very hospitable and lastly the excellent service. Once we went with our Jack Russell and we were seated outside, the manager brought us a bowl and water for our dog and he was generally very hospitable throughout our stay and that we appreciate. And last night again, just before closing time, impeccable service and the meal was delicious as always.Cheers to you sir, well see you again soon ;)

I ordered a meal with standard hotness, and the meal i got was so excruciatingly hot i could not eat it, While all the other meals together with our order were perfect. Really not impressed, as Ive had this meal a few times before with it being perfect :(

Small but cosy. Nice atmosphere and friendly, fast service. A firm favourite is the green curry. Ample parking on the opposite side of the street but quite costly - from R20 for 1 hour.

Simply Asia provides easy, flavoursome, comfort food. The substantial portions provide ample tangy bites which do not wane or become monotonous. So, there is plenty to savour and many intertwined flavours to enjoy until the end. It is also vegan-friendly.The service is average, and the staff does not necessarily dote over you, so it might be best to rather see this as a take away option and not necessarily a sit-down experience. If so, you wont be excessively bothered (glass half-full ?). A good idea is to phone beforehand and then collect your food, as this works very well. If you do want to sit down, the intriguing interior speak of previous fittings (seen against the textured walls) such as an old staircase, and stands in lovely contrast to the funky colours of the bright seating and tables.As far as parking goes, it can be a pain depending on the time of day or night, so be prepared to haul out R10 for parking across the road if need be. The clubs and pubs in the area get super busy and parking becomes obsolete....And please, they can really fix the front door that becomes a game of tug-of-war with the notorious Cape Town wind, as the latch doesnt close properly.

Great hole in the wall in heratige Square, Everything you would expect from a simply Asia but this specific site has a cool vibe to it. Its small and cozy with friendly staff and good food at an affordable price. A good budget option when in the mother city!

I’ve ordered in a few times before and apart from the first time, none of the others have been good experiences, just extremely disappointing. Ordered the Chicken Tongkatsu, the rice was so old and stale, I couldn’t even break it apart with a spoon. The broccoli was undercooked and not salted, and the chicken was so damn dry. The steamed bun was also stale and hardly any filling. I’m disgusted with the amount charged compared to what you get. You would think for such an expensive restaurant that you would be interested enough to make dishes properly/fresh.I’ve had the Tender Chicken in Peanut Sauce a few times before as well, and for a R90+ dish can you seriously only give ONE slice of cucumber every time? Come on. (Even though I’ve asked for a few extra slices)I won’t be coming back.

20 Jan 2017:We were in the city centre, we already ate at the 2 vegan places in town Happy Herbivore and Plant and wanted to try something different. This Thai place was just the thing.  We have eaten at their take away stand in Waterfront before. The portions in a sit down is much more and is only possible at this location. We got to sit and have a meal. It tasted different from the previous Simply Asia we visited at Waterfront.  It was tasteful and filling.  We had from the Vegetarian list: 409 Hed Phad Med Prik-Phao Standard and other medium heat.  408 Mah-Khuer Tao-Jeow no heat.There are other items also to explore suitable for vegans. Recommend this place to try some Thai food.

They usually serve good Thai food for affordable prices. Just dont go there on first Thursdays cause things get hectic there. The last time we went there they took an hour to serve us and the food was totally blend and tasteless. But they usually do offer good service.
