Some very very mediocre pizza 😕Strange taste, soggy, not nearly enough cheese.Maybe it’s better at the restaurant.

The food here is exceptional. The passion and talent with which Matteo & Mizio and their team prepare the dishes & welcome their guests is exceptional. I cannot wait for them to return to their original position by Deer Park, but very happy that they have found a temporary home.

Perfect spot for a quick date as we called it. We didnt eat much only chips too nibble on but we enjoyed our hour out of the house very much. Wasnt too busy when we arrived but picked up around the time we had to leave around 17h00. They dont have a smoking area but they do have a balcony available to smoke on when you are upstairs. Staff are very friendly.

Nice cosy pizza place in Gardens, Cape Town. Friendly staff. The owner should however get an office. He spent much time on the phone in the restaurant. That was the only distraction from a really nice place.

We had been disappointed more than a year ago since not feeling well after a meal at Woodlands Eatery but decided to try it out again 4 weeks ago. Although the service was really good, the food was not enjoyable. I had homemade pasta (special of the month) and it tasted as if it had been rewarmed together with the sauce. Nor the pasta nor the sauce were nice. My husband had a burger and was also disappointing, plus he struggled digesting his meal. We used to really like that restaurant but we wont give it another chance.

Ordered from Woodlands Eatery for the first time last night,such fantastic service, the food took less than 30 minutes to be delivered from the time I placed my order.Food was great and pizza was still warm. Perfect for a cosy winters evening!

An authentic Italian restaurant with beautiful, super tasty food. I ordered food from them, as take aways, during lockdown and was impressed by the user friendly process, professionalism and friendliness... and, of course, the food was absolutely delicious!

Delicious Food in a nice atmosphere. The only downside was that many foods are marked as vegan but are only vegetarian. The cauliflower based pizza with vegan cheese was definitely a Highlight. The waitress forget several things we ordered but was very nice. Make sure to have a reservation. Especially in the evening.

The Woodlands Eatery is one of our favourite restaurants in Cape Town. Their order and pick-up process via Whatsapp is so efficient and our pizzas were ready in 20 minutes. As always, the food is absolutely delicious!

This was a game changer as I didn’t have airtime nor memory to download a delivery app. I was able to send a concise text to order to pick up with my name and they made it happen! A nice cozy restaurant with a good atmosphere. They have plenty vegetarian options and some good vegan options.

Ordered a Margarita pizza. The pizza was bland and mozzarella did not taste like food quality. The pizza was cold even though I live 3-5min drive away.Also got no basil on the pizza because, according to the owner, “it will turn black”. Crazy

Great Italian influences cuisine in an out of the way spot in Vredehoek up close to Table Mountain. Had the grass fed beef burger which was really good, wife had the sweat potato and butternut gnocchi which melted in your mouth. Rustic ambience, small and cozy, and friendly staff make this a top spot for us. Definitely worth a revisit and to be on our list of favorites in the Cape.

This is my favorite favorite restaurant of all time!! We take our friends and family when theyre in town, we go on date night, our baby is now joining us too. Such a beautiful, cozy spot. If youre looking to take someone on a first date, its really something special. Pizza and pasta is authentic and the pizza has the thinest base youll ever have, with a cauliflower base available too. The atmosphere makes it.

I got take-away risotto from them. The food was super tasty and the delivery happened quick and in good packaging.

Always a reliable restaurant now hosted by Matteo and Mizio standards have even lifted.My partner had a Quinoa salad followed by a Melanzane Parmagiana and I had Gourmet Artichoke and Leek Pizza. All the dishes were made with fresh and tasty ingredients in generous portions. Swift and efficient service as well as a pass by or two from Matteo ensured a delightful meal. Good and easy.

Within walking distance to our home, we decided to give it a try. Service was good, my Marinara pizza not so much. I love a good pizza with anchovies. Not sure what the bad aftertaste was...maybe stale pizza dough, maybe the chilli oil or the anchovies.

My favourite restaurant! Service is great and the food is divine. The manager is very active to make sure everything is going well. They have a super menu with a good variety and the food is really flavourful and unique. They also have fantastic wine options and vegan cheese! The decor is so interesting and quirky, I love it. A true Italian gem, hidden in the winding roads of Vredehoek, frequented and loved by locals. Incredible pastas, pizzas, burgers and fish dishes are on offer. The mushroom and truffle sauce burger is a winner. Beers on tap. Café ambience.

(TACOS!)- VEGAN OPTIONS (For all your plant loving friends) but carnivores won’t be unhappy. 🙂- Starter menu also has some great options.- Venue is cozy with a seating selection outside (covered) and inside.- staff has always been super friendly and management attentive.- Plenty of parking across the road.- Nice location.CONS:- Will have to get back to you on that, had no issues while I was there.All in all the place is one of my favorite joints to eat in town. Just out of the way enough that is great for a bite when things get hectic, that said maybe check to see if you need to make a reservation as they can get busy.

Great Italian restaurant! A great location, great ambience and great food. Their online booking worked a treat. Definitely a place to take visitors to in Cape Town. Id recommend sitting inside during the winter as patio can be a bit chilly. Can get fairly loud when theyre full.

Food sadly not as good as it used to be since change of ownership. The sweet potato gnocchi was great but prawn salad used to be amazing and now pretty bland and the steak also very average. Pity because it seems the old dishes that were kept on the menu to retain the Woodlands ethos arent being honoured in their flavours. They do Italian well but Cape Town didnt really need another Italian restaurant. Miss some of the old classics like fantastic tuna and calamari. Overall its not the same fantastic restaurant that it was for so long. Its lost its uniqueness and quality of food.

Burger was great, music / ambience was great. They allowed us to take own birthday cake and we could just buy some ice cream. Service was good too. Perfect evening.

Lovely interior, lovely staff, very attentive management, lovely location (you can go for a stroll on the mountain before walking down the hill to them and having a tasty meal). The food is good but not amazing. For a neighborhood spot, however, it is amazing. The quality is consistent. Its like having a meal at a friends house who is a really good cook.

Down in Cape Town for business and decided to mix in a bit of pleasure and visit with my cousin. She mentioned that she wants to try out this little spot near her house, I was game!We, idiotically, forgot to make a booking and pitched at an exceptionally full restaurant. They managed to make space at the bar for us and after a while (and a bottle of wine later) a table opened up just in time for our food to arrive.We had Bow Tie pasta with ham and peas (it has a pretty name that I forgot) and the Butter Sage Spinach Ravioli.There was huge debates going as to who made the best choice, but really, both of them where excellent choices.This place is a hidden gem and off the beaten tourist path.But make a booking folks! They are packed!!

We’ve been twice to the Woodlands Eatery during our stay in Cape Town.The first time was very good and solid. Service was great and the food was as well! The mussels as a starter is a must! Best mussels in town! Pizza Diavola a bit too oily, the salads are great.The second time was still good because of the food. Our waiter was very slow and the opposite of proactive. He cleared empty glasses without asking if we want to drink something else and was very slow. Compared to the first time it was like day and night. But as mentioned, food was good both times and the atmosphere is really nice and authentic!Everyone can have a bad day, so still four stars!

Woodlands Eatery is a gem of a place in he heart of residential Vredehoek. The restaurant could easily be missed. Im glad we didnt miss it. Woodlands Eatery is open on Sundays - a rare find in Cape Town! We dined as a group of 4. Between the 4 of us, we ordered the hake dish, the Korean beef taco and Big Gus pizza. All the meals were delicious and wonderfully plated. The pizza was an authentic thin crust with fresh ingredients and given all the TLC that made it a real gourmet pizza. The taco was also delicious. They are served on a board where the diner makes their own taco. All the elements are provided and then one needs to build their own taco. The fish (hake) was very well battered. The menu mentioned skinny fired, I had no idea they would be spirally garnish on top of the fish. I would have liked the fries to have been real fries. Other than that, I cannot fault the dishes. Service was relaxed and friendly. A great intimate place to come with good friends and family.

Been here quite often. Have proper Italian pizzas and other dishes. Great hipster vibe, but you can take your parents there. This is also the restaurant where I met my wife... so maybe a little biased ;)

During my 6 night visit to Cape Town I visited this place 3 times! It was just so good that we kept coming back. All together we tried the tempura green beans, the chickpea burger, the vegetarian tacos, the Baked Seabass, the chili shrimp salad, and the salmon pasta. Every dish was honestly delicious, which is seriously hard to do! Wish this place was back home with me!

Highly recommend. The food was fantastic. I had the beetroot salad still thinking about how amazing it was. The pizza was delicious, paper thin and crispy. Service was fast friendly and professional. Definitely need to book as it was full.

Very tasty food. Like, very. Proper Italian, and they actually have gnocchi and ravioli, which is depressingly rare. The food tends to be a bit lacking in salt and pepper, but thats why theres salt and pepper at the table. Really one of my favorite places in Cape Town.
