A really casual place to go to where one can watch sport or not, have a party group, a romantic evening, child friendly, a real pub feel without been just a pub. Legit the best eisbein Ive ever eaten. Live band was a bit loud but if you sit further away from stage Im sure it will be better. Also they should consider adding a playground for kids or something to keep them entertained. Otherwise very cool place to visit and have a glass of wine by a warm wood fire.great rustic vibe...

You cant go to Im Eimer and NOT order an eisbein... They are to die for and super affordable. The restaurant is super rustic and warm and cosy. Lovely to sit by the fire in winter. Would definitely recommend for great food with great company all while being super comfortable

Absolutely not worth the hype. We went on a Friday night. It was poorly lit and the entrance is hidden. The waiters were unfriendly and talked extremely loud while we were having our food.The Spätzle tasted like scrambled eggs and the Schnitzel was extremely thin. Quite disappointed

An old and rustic favourite of the Helderberg comprising a mix and match of converted rooms and spaces.I primarily visit to eat a good Eisbein with Sauerkraut. This time I opted for a medium well sirloin steak with green pepper sauce. Soft, juicy and ever so tasty.I ordered an Apple Strudel which was not overly sweet and a tasty round off of the dinner.Well worth a visit.

Lovely delicious Kingklip! Great and friendly service by the manager. Very interesting decor and I really like the rustic atmosphere. The only downside would be the very limited menu options if you dont eat meat. I would definitely visit again - but this time to experience live music and beer which the venue seems perfectly suited for.

We often came here as we always received good service and great value for money. But now the prices have gone up quite a bit and the service was extremely slow - while the restaurant was not even that busy. Will reconsider next time we are looking for a German restaurant.

Im Eimer offers a truly authentic German experience. The menu has a big variety of both German and local dishes, as well as a vast selection of beers including a couple of German ones available on tap. I went for the Eisbein which was nice and crispy on the outside yet juicy on the inside, and my wife had the Jager Schnitzel which she also really enjoyed. The restaurant itself is very rustic and old school, and on the outside they have a big beer garden area where you can relax in summer. As it was winter we sat inside close to the fireplace which was going all evening. The seating area inside the restaurant isnt that big so I would recommend smaller groups during winter, and prebooking. We really enjoyed the food, the vibe and the beer, and will definitely head back there in the future.

Extremely bad experience. Slow service, we booked, but waited close to 2 hours for the food. The place was not clean on the day. Incredibly dry Eisbein... I didnt know you could actually mess that up so bad - Wer hätte das gedacht, but there you go. Same amount of Mash potato as Mustard, strange since other plates had generous helpings. No kids menu, no real safe place for children to play. Lots and lots of cigarette smoke. Food Trippers beware

You can not get a better Eisbhein anywhere in SA. I think its actually better than the last one I had in Jos Beer House in Windhoek. What n wonderfull place to celebrate our 49th anneversary.

Its a very relaxing place, looks like someones make shift backard...very very laidback..you can let your hair down, its a German restaurant, German food, live music on a sunday, value for money, portions size well worth it, if youre going to order eisbein, which we didnt, due solely to its size, do so a day in advance, staff friendly, will recommend it, its an experience.
