Not the best restaurant. We have had a couple of bad experiences here to such a point that we will just not go back. Both the staff and management are unprofessional. The service is definitely below standard. One of our orders came out wrong, we had already took a bite, realised it was salmon instead of bacon. Not wanting to waste it we took the salmon off the plate and asked for extra bacon on the side. The waiter came back and said it will cost an extra R15. We said it was unacceptable. He then came back and said he was told to bring the plate back. We said we prefer not to have our one guest waiting without food, please just bring the bacon on the side. He then insisted in taking it back. Next thing the manager came out asking where the salmon on the plate was 🤦🏼‍♀️

Loved it! Came back again for the same thing! I highly recommend the creamy mushroom burger with sweet potato fries! It will blow your mind!

Breakfast / brunch:The food was all DELICIOUS! We were rather disappointed the croissants sold out by about 10:30am, but did manage to get one before this which was so good 🤤🥐The waitress was very attentive, and warned us before we ordered that the food would take a while (I appreciated the honesty). It was surprising the food was slow to arrive as the restaurant wasn’t particularly full.Lovely setting - we saw a whale in the sea from our table! 🐳A good meal and I look forward to the next visit.

Rockpool is a great restaurant to stop over for a drink after a stroll on the Prominade or to have a relaxing lunch or dinner. There is a nice vibe, the food is good and service is friendly and efficient!

We were looking for a spot for sundowner cocktails with a sea view. Boy. Did we get what we were looking for! From the friendly waitress who greeted us at the front to the guy at the back who discussed the chicken strips and my age - it was a gem. The pina colada was chilled and tasty and had actual pineapple pieces. The Long Island tea was fantastically chilled and went down very well. We also ordered some chicken strips who were tasty and I think air fried as they were not oily but done to perfection. It came with a sweet chilli sauce. For the views it gets three stars and the cocktails gets it another five stars. Perfect end to a table mountain trip. We will definitely be backUpdate. We had the new platter offering Ocean view and it was enough for two and a half people. The fried fish was falling apart good and tasty and the fries done perfectly. The pina colada was great as usual and so was the service. Well done. Again

Great place for sundowners and tapas but breakfast served on weekends very worthwhile. Excellent fresh juices. Nice venue when there arent protests taking place along the beachfront!

Just down from The Grand Pavillion who cant cook a plate of fries:Rockpool is unpretentious and the hake bites with aeoli sauce and fries, was awesome.. Needless to say, the fries were perfect too 😂

I will never eat at this restaurant again. We had the worst experience, waiting an hour and a half for food. We had to change our order 3 times. The waitress was super friendly but couldnt do anything to speed the order up because she was very new.

Really groovy place with a menu of good variety. Seafood, Mexican, steak, salad, gourmet milkshakes, pizza or cocktails. There’s a bit of everything at Rockpool. Buzzing vibe (so be sure to book if you’re a large group) with seating inside, outside and in between. Good tasting food along with a nice sea air breeze in the cosy beachy themed interior. Wouldn’t mind visiting again.

Food was good, however I ordered a small chicken strips, then got a small portion chicken strips but they charged for me a large chicken strips. There isnt negotiating without proof here, so ended up paying for large, a bit upsetting at the time.

Being right on the Seapoint beachfront, I expected this to be overpriced and mediocre. I was entirely wrong! Great service, reasonable pricing, and one of the best fish n chips Ive found in Cape Town so far. Also portions of everything we ordered were insanely generous.

Sat afternoon, 5pm: No sanitizer in sight upon entry. Packed to capacity in the the outside seating area, all tables filled to capacity and groups of people standing in-between tables. I didnt feel safe here in the time of Covid-19. The mist that is sprayed - even tho refreshing - probably poses a risk of spreading micro droplets that come out of peoples mouth. The Strawberry Daiquiri was delecious.

My Americano was served cold and so was my friends. We had to send it back and my other friends juice looked beautiful but was way to sweet. We sat at a very uncomfortable table. Was meant for a bigger party, but it made it very uncomfortable for us to move freely to the restrooms and back

Usually busy and vibey in the afternoon/evenings and on weekends especially when the weather is good.The menu offers a variety of food mostly Mediterranean style dishes as well as pizzas. They also offer a range of cocktails as well as the other usual drinks. Craft beer is available.Service is usually very friendly and attentive. Dogs are accommodated on leads in the outside section.Decor is very basic but since the focus is on the view it adds to the relaxed atmosphere.Perfect for groups or just a relaxed meal. They dont take reservations outside so first come first serve!

We were having a really good time until the place started to fill up, Sunday 15 Sept 2019, then the manager put lousy music on and raised the volume to an unpleasantly loud level to encourage patrons to leave earlier than they would have.This moved them from roses to bad onions

Beautiful promenade style bar with excellent food, views and vibe. 20 metres from the beach and perfect for an afternoon/evening meal after a hard day on the surf. Loses one star for slow service. NOTE: the unisex toilets might make some ladies uncomfortable (especially as theyre all side by side in one bathroom ie you might have to listen to a male in stall beside you reading the Sunday papers!).

Quick service, beautiful views. Can get crowded at times, but still worth it for a delicious breakfast. Juices are also good.

THE IDEAL SUNSET & COCKTAIL VENUE.Rockpool always delivers on service, food and the perfect setting for watching the sun fade away into the horizon, be it the middle of summer at 8pm, or when it starts getting chilly come Autumn.Pizza is my personal go-to cocktail accompaniment though there are many delicious options available. I usually opt for Long Island Tea, but chose the PImms last time and it was AMAZING! The waitrons are attentive and accommodating at all times so you can focus on enjoying your midday lunch with mates or evening sunset drinks!You get your moneys worth and MORE here.

Lets start with the good stuff: Great vibey location. Grilled calamari and grilled calamari/hake is good, albeit pricey. Manager recognized one of our group from a previous visit. Came to apologise for his handling of an incident and offered a pizza on the house. A wonderful gesture, which we did not feel to necessary to take up. Apology was unexpected and well appreciated.Now for the reality check: Service staff are friendly, but slow. On a quite evening the service was beyond slow. Two of our 3 meals eventually turned up, with 3rd probably 15min after rest.And finally the WTF moment?; Despite the terrace being clearly marked as non-smoking, smokers cassually sit at the first table (as you enter), puffing away and blowing their smoke into restaurant. Other smokers are leaning against the terrace front wall, smoking away and chatting to their friends sitting centimetres away and inside. Again exhaling their smoke right into the restaurant. There is no point in embracing the law, marking your non-smoking zone and not enforcing it. What is a non-smoking fresh air terrace is effectively a pseudo smoking zone.Clearly the same friendly non-law abiding Manager and owners value their smoking guests more than their non-smoking ones and will contravene the law in process.I value my health and will rather spend my hard earned money where a light burns brightly, not a faded and yellow flickering Rockpool one resembling a drying candle....
