Best prawns I have had in a long time. She specializes in prawns and they are huge. Very small, cosy restaurant. Highly Recommended

A quaint little 26 seater venue with pleasant Portuguese music playing. A cosy intimate ambience. The meal offering limited to exclusively focus on prawns (nothing else on the menu due to a red tide at the time of our visit. Indicating that this spot serves fresh seafood). Though I believe nothing else needs to be on the menu, since Carlas is known for PRAWNS. If youre looking for The Most Delicious prawns in Cape Town, this is the Go-To spot. At first I thought the price was steep, however after tasting the prawns in that Magical Sauce, I believe its well worth every penny. The latte was also quite delicious. Seriously the best prawns Ive ever had. At least once in your life, treat yourself to a plate of prawns at Carlas. You can thank me later😂 Our compliments to the Chef❤️

Best prawns ever.Carla is great.Small restaurant, seats maybe 24 or so. Menu is prawns or chicken or go somewhere else. And its all perfect .Dont be shy to ask for more sauce.

Excellent food

Its nearly impossible to get a table here. There are only a few of them, they are booked in advance, and they seem to only book one party per table per night - so definitely dont expect to walk in! Once you do get a table, plan to order the prawns when you go. There are a few other items on the menu, but when we tried to order them, they turned out to not actually be available... That said, the prawns were really fantastic, so we didnt end up minding that they were the only option. Definitely a unique dining experience, and I would go back!

Carla is a lovely person! The food was great too! A real Mozambican experience! Just note that you should bring cash only. You can bring your own wine for a low corkage. Loved it!

Booked a table ,wasnt told cash only. On arrival fridges werent working ,prawns tasty but overpriced. I agree Carla is nice but I expected something better for a special event

Greedy and unfriendly owner, expensive, warm beers, smelly and dark unpleasant atmosphere. Anybody can buy and cook or warm up prawns, you would expect a bit more from a restaurant.

Our first visit and wow, wow, wow!!!! We shared 2 Mozambique salads to start. Delicious! Followed by piri-piri prawns for 4 of us and piri-piri chicken for the other 2 in our party! My prawns were huge, the sauce sublime. Lovely, friendly service, and attention to detail by Carla. We will definitely be back.

This is a prawn restaurant, the prawns are great, dont go here if youre not going to get the prawns the menu is very limited elsewise, definitely not a spot for vegetarians. Carla is a character and the atmosphere is great.

Everytime we visit Carlas were reminded of the value of personal attention, the pure pleasure of a simple menu and glorious food flavours. The restaurant offers patrons a chance to relax in an intimate space and enjoy their food maybe even bump into old friends. if you want a wam bam quick meal, a 3 or 4 page menu with endless choice....dont visit this treasure of Muizenberg. We do prawns - Carla. Dont even bother ordering anything else, the Portuguese style prawns are the best in Cape Town. Where the locals go and, if you are lucky, Carla remembers your name. :-)

A small, but lovely and authentic Mozambican/Portuguese restaurant. Not a big menu at all, offering prawns, piri-piri chicken and mussels. But the prawns are what youll want. By far the best prawns Ive eaten, with a beautifully spiced sauce. The atmosphere is vibey but quaint.
